SUMMARY OF
CAPABILITIES: My experience covers a wide range of projects in Australia and the Middle East. In addition
to my expertise as an architect, I carried out studies in Interior Design and CAD application at
the University of Colorado at Denver.
I have the creativity and practicality needed to design within any budget and deadline.
I also possess the tenancy and communication skills that enable me to chase the trades and
get the work done and achieve the desired results
Since early as 1986, I have held the position of Senior Architect and Team leader on several
major projects with Dar Al-Handasah consultants. My assignments varied from Client liaison
and design brief preparation along the Design, Design Development, production of
Construction Documents, Specifications, Co-ordination to the supervision of construction and
handover, I have considerable talents and careful attention to details.
I am well experienced in the application of CAD systems and have been selected to fulfill the
role of CAD Manager in Dar Al-Handasah along my duties as an architect.
I was responsible for the evaluation and implementation of computer-aided design (CAD)
programs, and boosting the human resources to the highest possible standard of CAD
production by organizing extensive training sessions at different levels of expertise for new
and veteran users. Also responsible for the standardization of CAD use and techniques
among all trades of DAR GROUP.

2000 – 2007 Private practice, Cairo Egypt (Started in 1995 as part time then from late 2000 full time), had a
team of architects, two site supervisors and in-house accountant. A furniture and cabinet making
workshop. (With two cabinet makers and two apprentices). Turnkey design and construction of
several residential and commercial projects in the magnitude of $ 2 - 10 M from inception to
completion.

- A French provincial up market residence in north Balwyn.
Redesign & construction of a new residence consisting of a basement & two storey, high
end luxurious residence of a total built up area of 1350m2 (approx. 150 squares).
- Six storey precast concrete residential apartment building in Victoria parade, Collingwood.
Review the documentation of the project for coordination issues between trades and consult
on the viability of construction prior to tendering.
- Residential multi storey dwelling. Hotham street South Melbourne. Change of use, Design
development and documentation of an existing three storey concrete office building to a four
storey with basement single dwelling residential building with a total built-up area of approx.
450 m².
- New Beach House, Morley avenue Wye River Great Ocean Road Vic. Design Development
and Documentation of a two storey with basement beach house on a steep slopping site
with a 180˚ unobstructed view of the Ocean
- Development of two; Double storey Town Homes. Bernice Street Doncaster. Design,
Documentation, Specification and site management & supervision of two town homes of 30
squares each, making the most of a corner site of 670 m² (construction cost $ 660K)

- Design and documentation and builder follow-up of several residential projects and
renovations (from $ 250k to 2M)
- Renovation of Five Apartments on two levels & Creating two high-end well-appointed
dwellings. In an old three-storey much degraded 14 apartments building complex. At 241

- Substantial and complex renovation over two levels of an existing Edwardian building at 63
Burke Road, East Malvern.
- Private villa for Mr Bruno Azar. Mirage city Cairo, Design and Construction of a super luxury
villa, fully automated. of a total built-up area of 1’050 m², on a plot of 1’600 m². (construction
cost $ 3.2M)
- Design, Alteration & Refurbishing of two apartments and merge them into one, with five
complete bedroom suite, nanny’s quarter, rumpus room and a large formal living dining
space. Total area of 265m2 (approx. 30 squares) in Nasr city Cairo Egypt.
- Private house for Mr Nader Mishriqui. Heliopolis Cairo,
- Private villa for Mr Khaled Morsi. Swan lake city Heliopolis Cairo, Design of a luxurious villa of
a total buil up are of 1’200 m²,
- Ras Laffan Housing Project, Qatar. Design and supervision of construction for a housing
compound to accommodate 3,000 people in 823 dwelling units, in addition to recreation,
social, religious, medical and public facilities, of a total built-up area of 159,722 m², on a site
of 81.2 ha, including complete infrastructure.
- Hamad Bin Khaled Towers, Doha, Qatar. Design and construction documents for 2 towers of
8 and 6 floors topping a 2-storey podium, of a built-up area of 25,000 m², including shopping
and office areas, 34 luxurious apartments and 232 car-parking spaces. Site area: 10,300 m².
- Morro Da Luz, Angola. Planning, design and supervision of construction for a complex of
buildings including a presidential villa, barracks, heliport, swimming pool, sports facilities and
all infrastructure, on a site of 8 ha.
- Muna Valley Housing and Development, Saudi Arabia. Master plan and conceptual design for
temporary accommodation for 6 million pilgrims including housing services, transportation
and all major utilities on a 392 ha site.
Special needs
- New House to cater for the needs of a family having a child with disability. Tudor Drive,
Mooroolbark Vic. Design Development and Documentation of a single storey house with a
separate wing for a child with special needs, including accommodation for a career.
The house has a total floor area of 365 m² on a 2’000 m² site.
- House renovation and extension. Francis crescent, Mt Evelyn, Vic. Renovating adding to and
accommodating an existing house to cater for the needs of disable child.
Medical
- Diagnostic Centre in the West Bank, Palestine. Master plan and design for a 300-bed
medical centre, of 10,000 m² in built-up area (initial phase), containing the diagnostic
facilities, specialized laboratories, radiology and nuclear medicine, bio-medical engineering
preliminary function and administration facilities.
- -Rehabilitation Pavilion, Doha, Qatar. Design and supervision of construction for a 4-storey,
66-bed children’s hospital of a built-up area of 6,700 m² including clinics, indoor swimming

pool, gymnasium, computer, music and painting rooms, educational classes for retarded
children, extensive landscape and outdoor playground.
- -Children's Hospital in Doha, Qatar. Design for a 300-bed medical facility of a total built-up
area of 58,000 m² that would be part of the Hamad Medical Centre Complex, including full
range of outpatient diagnostic and treatment facilities, 66-bed child rehabilitation centre and
emergency unit with a capacity of 100,000 cases/year.
- -Arab Centre for Heart and Special Surgery, Jordan. Design and supervision of construction
for a 141-bed hospital intended for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular ailments
and other diverse medical specialties in a total built-up area of 18,700 m², on a 1.25 ha site,
with complete infrastructure and services.
Educational
- Sholem Aleichem College, Sinclair street Elsterwick, Victoria. Alteration and addition of a new
library on top of an existing building. With a total built-up area of approx. 135 m².
- Isik College, Chapel road Keysborough. Design development and documentation of a new
science and language building for VCE students, The centre consists of a two storey
building that houses a library, science and language labs and classrooms. It is built mainly
with precast concrete walls and slabs, with a total built-up area of 1’925 m²
- Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, Palestine. Design and supervision of construction for
a polytechnic (post-secondary) college, of a built-up area of 16,000 m², with specialization in
diverse engineering and industrial technologies.
Training Facility
- Special Forces Facility, Kuwait. Design and supervision of construction for a command and
training base for a planned occupancy of 4,000 persons, comprising administrative,
accommodation, training and service facilities of a total built-up area of 141,000 m² of
enclosed buildings, 75,000 m² of training fields, 22,000 m² of shooting ranges, 41,045 m² of
parking sheds and 22,000 m² of playgrounds, constructed on a 63 ha site in the Subiya
industrial area in the City of Kuwait.
- Extension of School and Training Centre, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Saudi Arabia. Design and
construction documents for residential, educational and medical facilities, comprising a 100-
bed hospital, 2 schools and a sports complex with all related services and infrastructure, for a
total population of 2,000. Built-up area: 55,000 m².
Hospitality
- Heliopolis Sheraton Hotel Rehabilitation, Egypt. Design and supervision of construction for
the comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrading of the fire-damaged 5-star hotel including 3
guest-room wings (600 rooms, 5 VIP and 1 royal suites), new lobby area, restaurants,
swimming pool, open spaces and infrastructure; total built-up area is 30,000 m².
- Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates. Design and supervision of construction for
expansion of exhibition spaces from 14,000 to 28,000 m² comprising a convention centre to
accommodate 1,600 delegates, a multi-storey car-park (420 cars) and a banqueting facility
for 2,000 persons, of total built-up area of 80,000 m².
Specialized
- Restoration of heritage building.
Restoration of existing apartment building built in 1923 Heliopolis, Cairo Egypt.
• Prop the building and demolish the damaged concrete elements, then rebar and pour
them and insert extra steel supports.

• Scrap the old rendering, restore parts of the brick work and re-render and paint the
facades
• Rebuilt all the intricate forms and moldings on the facades.

- Dubai Central Laboratory, United Arab Emirates. Design and construction documents for a
complex of buildings containing laboratories for environmental control, industrial engineering,
food and electrical appliances and the administration of total built-up area of 22,000 m²,
including all infrastructure and site development.
- Sound recording studios, Design and execution of “Ammar Sound” and “Kiki Sound”
recording studios, the challenge was to achieve a sound insulation of at least 90dbs in the
very noisy city of Cairo with zero reverberation time.
Commercial
- DHL headquarter in Heliopolis. Rehabilitation and addition. Design Rehabilitation and
Construction of an existing three storey residential building to a four storey office building
with underground parking of a total built-up area of 3’000 m².
- Qatar Islamic Bank, Doha, Qatar. Design and supervision of construction for an 8-storey
office building intended to house the bank headquarters, of a total built-up of area of
10,600 m².
Misclenous
- Jamarat Bridge and Cover, Muna, Saudi Arabia. Concept design for a pedestrian multi-storey
bridge 2,000 m long by 40-80 m wide to account for the peak-hour traffic problem at the
Jamarat area during the Hajj season.
- Toilet Blocks, Saudi Arabia.

- Al-Aziziah Car-Park, Saudi Arabia.
- Madinah Haram Special Development Zone, Saudi Arabia. Design and supervision of
construction for a number of buildings overlooking the piazza surrounding the Prophet's
Mosque, comprising 4 shopping centers, 3 exhibition halls, shopping mall, 6 office buildings
