The EC700 Modbus Gateway allows integration between a LonWorks fire system and a third party Modbus BMS system. It has a robust hardware platform with a high performance CPU and UART for fast communications. It features 3 communication ports for LonWorks, serial, and programming connections. The serial port supports either RS232 or RS485 communications. It provides address mapping between LonWorks and Modbus variables to allow data sharing between the two systems.

The unit will be certified to RTCA DO-160D for environmental conditions and to RTCA DO-254 and RTCA DO-178B Level B for functionality. The AFGS employs a high-end Pentium® M processor with ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS-422, and USB interfaces, and accepts up to four external video sources of NTSC, S-Video, or PAL formats. The AFGS provides both rendered video images and multiplexed video sources to the aircraft's existing display units.

Note: Command structure for nviCommand is:
0 = Not Used
1 = Next Alarm/Event
2 = Evacuate
3 = Silence
4 = Reset
5 = Clear Stats***
* Once the BMS has read all event data (modbus Input 21-43), it must signal to
the EC700 that it is ready to process the next event by updating nviCommand
(modbus holding 1) to a value of 1 (next alarm/event). The data ready bit is then
reset to zero and only set back to 1 when a new alarm/event is available to be
read by the BMS.
