Courage University provides IT and communications training and certification testing to I Corps units to help them meet DoD 8570 requirements. It is led by Commandant Ken Groves and has instructors for LAN and WAN courses. Courses include CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, security, and tactical communications. Testing is available on-site for certifications. The goal is to support I Corps' IT workforce through hands-on training and compliance with DoD directives.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Mission Statement
Courage University’s mission is to provide IT training support to all I Corps units. We provide
training and on-site PearsonVue and Prometric certification testing that meets DOD 8570
certification and/or qualification requirements for baseline and computing environments.
Courage University also teaches many other IT and tactical signal communications courses to
include TOC Power Generation.
The goals of the facility are as follows:
• Provide support to I Corps G6 in regards to training and certification of our IT work force.
• Provides specific duty related training on current and future equipment and methodologies.
• Reinforce classroom instruction with hands-on training that sets the example for field execution.
• Cover material not taught in MOS institutional courses, giving Soldiers the additional knowledge to
succeed.
• Provide training and certification testing to assure that I Corps units are in compliance with DoD Directive
8570.1M

in garrison and wartime missions. Plans, schedules, and coordinates training

for the day to day operation, rules and policies governing the university.
