NVIDIA (USA) Receives Approval to Proceed with Mellanox Acquisition from
China’s Antitrust Authority
NVIDIA announced that it has received approval from all necessary authorities to proceed with its planned acquisition of Mellanox, as announced
in March 2019. The latest approval by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation follows antitrust approval from the European
Commission and Mexico and the expiration of the waiting period under U.S. antitrust laws. With the exception of the remaining customary
closing conditions, all conditions to the deal’s closing have been satisfied. NVIDIA announced on March 11, 2019, its intention to acquire
Israel-based Mellanox for $125 per share in cash, or $6.9 billion, in a transaction that would combine NVIDIA’s leading computing expertise with
Mellanox’s high-performance interconnect technology. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to NVIDIA’s non-GAAP gross
margin, non-GAAP EPS and free cash flow. NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined
modern computer graphics and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of
computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world.

slightly outperformed our expectations.
• Gross Margin finished as 25.5% in Q1 which both exceeded our expectations and finished at the high end of our guidance range. The largest driver of outperformance
stemmed from the core royalty component due to product mix, offset somewhat by one-time reductions.
• Operating expenses totalled €489 million in Q1, an increase of 16% from 1Q’19 but short of our plan. The cost of Share Based Compensation, both from the social charges
as a result of share price movements and lower than expected grants of new equity, was the largest driver of the variance to forecast this quarter.
• Total Free Cash Flow was € (21) million in Q1 as a result. While this was the first operating cash outflow, we’ve had in the past 9 quarters, the cash burn was actually less
than we had anticipated.

Apple makes mobility data available to aid COVID-19 efforts
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
24
Solution Description
Apple released a mobility data trends tool from Apple Maps to support the impactful work happening around the globe to mitigate the spread of
COVID-19. This mobility data may provide helpful insights to local governments and health authorities and may also be used as a foundation for
new public policies by showing the change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit in their communities. Maps does not
associate mobility data with a user’s Apple ID, and Apple does not keep a history of where a user has been. Using aggregated data collected from
Apple Maps, the new website indicates mobility trends for major cities and 63 countries or regions. The information is generated by counting the
number of requests made to Apple Maps for directions. The data sets are then compared to reflect a change in volume of people driving, walking
or taking public transit around the world. Data availability in a particular city, country, or region is subject to a number of factors, including
minimum thresholds for direction requests made per day.Apple has built privacy into the core of Maps from the beginning. Data collected by Maps,
like search terms, navigation routing, and traffic information, is associated with random, rotating identifiers that continually reset, so Apple doesn’t
have a profile of your movements and searches. This enables Maps to provide a great experience, while protecting user privacy.

Microchip (USA) Releases Version 2.1 of TimeProvider 4100 Timing
Grandmaster
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Solution Description
Microchip Technology Inc. released software version 2.1 for its TimeProvider® 4100 precision timing grandmaster. TimeProvider 4100 is a 1588 grandmaster including support
for the latest ITU-T G.8275.1 and G.8275.2 1588 phase profiles, complemented by extensive port fan-out for PTP, Network Time Protocol, SyncE, and E1/T1. Software release
2.1 builds on earlier versions by adding key software enhancements providing a virtual Primary Reference Time Clock. Virtual PRTC provides the ability to design a redundant
precise time distribution architecture for phase protection over an optical network. Until recently the main source of precise time has been the Global Positioning System and
regional constellations that comprise the GNSS. Deployment of GNSS, however, can be costly for service providers given the costs associated with upgrading to GNSS-capable
receivers and antennae as well as increasing densification of end points. As a result, telecom, cable and utility operators deploying vPRTC benefit from solutions where GNSS
dependency is reduced or eliminated.
Following are key features of the new vPRTC functionality:
• Leverages the existing optical network, avoiding high-cost dark fibre expenses
• Uses a dedicated lambda to transport time precisely and securely
• Provides a high-performance, redundant source of time through enhanced PRTC
• Allows bidirectional, precise time flows
• Chains together high-precision, multi-domain, high-performance boundary clocks that meet standards

Solution Description
Seagate Technology ships tens of millions of hard disks drives every quarter. Ensuring the quality of each one is a top priority, but not easy. The disk drive manufacturing
process is incredibly complex. For example, it takes 1,400 steps just to manufacture the drive head. Even the smallest errors can lead to product flaws. At first, Seagate
searched for a product that could help with image-based anomaly detection in a high-yield manufacturing environment, but there was nothing commercially available.
The company started talking with NVIDIAand Hewlett Packard Enterprise about the business problem. The first step the companies took was to get an idea of the amount
of data in play. Bringing this idea to life for a single factory would require the ability to process 17 million images a day, and to perform inference at 20 positions per

STMicroelectronics (Switzerland) Launches Ultra-Economical Synchronous-Rectification
Controllers in Space-Saving 6-Pin Packages
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
39
Solution Description
STMicroelectronics’ SRK1000A and SRK1000B secondary-side synchronous-rectification controllers for fly back converters, featuring high efficiency and low power
consumption, introduce a new, more affordable and smaller-footprint option for battery chargers, quick chargers, adapters, and USB power-delivery outlets. Designed
for fast turn-on with minimum delay, and with innovative adaptive turn-off logic, the devices maximize synchronous-rectification MOSFET conduction time and
minimize the effects of parasitic inductance in the circuit without the need to add external components, leading to greatly improved system efficiency and a reduced bill
of materials. The SRK1000A and SRK1000B are both able to manage a wide range of flyback controllers including quasi-resonant (QR) and mixed CCM/DCM fixed
frequency operation up to 300kHz, simplifying system design. Both devices allow programmable blanking time after turn-on (TON), via resistor selection, to prevent
noise from inducing spurious behavior. The SRK1000A has a 2μs fixed blanking time after turn-off (TOFF), while the corresponding value for the SRK1000B is 3μs.
The devices both offer an efficient low power mode at light load, entering a low-consumption sleep mode when synchronous rectification is no longer beneficial. This is
managed either by detecting primary-side controller burst-mode operation, or when the SR MOSFET conduction becomes lower than the programmed minimum TON.
The device quiescent current in this low consumption mode is only 160μA. Suitable for applications with output voltage up to 19V, and capable of maintaining regulation
down to 2V output in CCM, the SRK1000A and SRK1000B have a wide supply-voltage range of 4.5V to 32V, with a drain-source voltage rating of 100V. The output
can sink up to 1A and source up to 0.6A to control the gate of the external N-channel synchronous-rectification MOSFET.

Solution Description
The STMicroelectronics L99UDL01 automotive universal door-lock IC integrates six MOSFET half-bridge outputs and two half-bridge gate
drivers with protection and diagnostic functions that enhance safety, simplify design, and save space. As a complete centralized solution for
electronically driving car locks from a body-control module, the L99UDL01 replaces multiple individual motor drivers and associated analogy and
passive components while providing more sophisticated functionality. The IC integrates a unique safety feature that overrides normal operation in
the event of an accident to help ensure that first responders will have access to the vehicle. Adding further value are PWM output-current regulation
and high-level diagnostics capable of detecting over current, open load, short to battery, and short to ground. The load-integrity checks can be
completed without actuating the load. The six integrated MOSFET half bridges can be connected independently or as two channels containing up
to three half bridges in parallel to share higher-current loads. The output MOSFETs are fully protected and have low RDS(ON) to boost energy
efficiency and ease thermal management. Key parameters are adjustable to ensure optimal performance, including the on-time duration, off-state
fault detection, and output-current magnitude and direction. The programmable current limit lets designers lower stress on door-lock motors to
enhance reliability.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nib Solution Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Apple makes mobility data available to aid COVID-19 efforts For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 24 Solution Description Apple released a mobility data trends tool from Apple Maps to support the impactful work happening around the globe to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This mobility data may provide helpful insights to local governments and health authorities and may also be used as a foundation for new public policies by showing the change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit in their communities. Maps does not associate mobility data with a user’s Apple ID, and Apple does not keep a history of where a user has been. Using aggregated data collected from Apple Maps, the new website indicates mobility trends for major cities and 63 countries or regions. The information is generated by counting the number of requests made to Apple Maps for directions. The data sets are then compared to reflect a change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit around the world. Data availability in a particular city, country, or region is subject to a number of factors, including minimum thresholds for direction requests made per day.Apple has built privacy into the core of Maps from the beginning. Data collected by Maps, like search terms, navigation routing, and traffic information, is associated with random, rotating identifiers that continually reset, so Apple doesn’t have a profile of your movements and searches. This enables Maps to provide a great experience, while protecting user privacy.

Designed for fast turn-on with minimum delay, and with innovative adaptive turn-off logic, the devices maximize synchronous-rectification MOSFET conduction time and minimize the effects of parasitic inductance in the circuit without the need to add external components, leading to greatly improved system efficiency and a reduced bill of materials. The SRK1000A and SRK1000B are both able to manage a wide range of flyback controllers including quasi-resonant (QR) and mixed CCM/DCM fixed frequency operation up to 300kHz, simplifying system design. Both devices allow programmable blanking time after turn-on (TON), via resistor selection, to prevent noise from inducing spurious behavior. This is managed either by detecting primary-side controller burst-mode operation, or when the SR MOSFET conduction becomes lower than the programmed minimum TON. The device quiescent current in this low consumption mode is only 160μA. Suitable for applications with output voltage up to 19V, and capable of maintaining regulation down to 2V output in CCM, the SRK1000A and SRK1000B have a wide supply-voltage range of 4.5V to 32V, with a drain-source voltage rating of 100V. The output can sink up to 1A and source up to 0.6A to control the gate of the external N-channel synchronous-rectification MOSFET.
