Arista Networks, Inc. Reports Second Quarter 2019 Financial Results
• Revenue of $608.3 million, an increase of 2.2% compared to the first
quarter of 2019, and an increase of 17.0% from the second quarter of 2018.
• GAAP gross margin of 64.1%, compared to GAAP gross margin of 63.9%
in the first quarter of 2019 and 64.2% in the second quarter of 2018.
• Non-GAAP gross margin of 64.7%, compared to non-GAAP gross margin
of 64.5% in the first quarter of 2019 and 64.5% in the second quarter of
2018.
• GAAP net income of $189.3 million, or $2.33 per diluted share, compared
to GAAP net loss of $155.3 million, or $2.08 per diluted share in the second
quarter of 2018.
• Non-GAAP net income of $198.6 million, or $2.44 per diluted share,
compared to non-GAAP net income of $155.7 million, or $1.93 per diluted

• BCE operating revenue was up 2.5% in Q2 to $5,930 million, driven by a
2.0% increase in service revenue to $5,231 million.
• Product revenue increased 6.4% to $699 million.

• Net earnings attributable to common shareholders totalled $761 million.
• BCE cash flows from operating activities were $2,093 million, up 1.8%

Across All Businesses
• GAAP sales of $2.9 billion and core sales of $3.0 billion increased
7% and 8%, respectively, on a year-over-year basis
• GAAP EPS of $0.09 declined from $0.78 in the second quarter of
2018 driven primarily by non-cash, mark-to-market losses
associated with the company’s currency-hedging contract.
• Core EPS grew by 18% to $0.45, reflecting year-over-year sales

Fiserv Reports Second Quarter 2019 Results
• GAAP revenue for the company increased 6 percent to $1.51
billion in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the prior year
period.
• GAAP earnings per share was $0.56 in the second quarter and
$1.12 in the first six months of 2019, decreasing 7 percent and 30
percent, respectively, compared to the prior year periods.

Alps Alpine Develops Compact Solderless Waterproof
Detector Switch
July 29, 2019 - Alps Alpine Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of high-quality
electronic products, has developed a SPVQ8 Series detector switch for use in
detecting the opening and closing of side doors, hoods and other vehicle
doors. Electrification of vehicles is progressing, and cars are becoming lighter.
The electronic components inside them therefore need to be smaller and
lighter, too. The detector switch recently developed by Alps Alpine is intended
for open/shut detection of side doors, hoods and other vehicle doors, as well as
connection detection e.g. for seatbelt buckles. Each car has around 10 such
products. This SPVQ8 Series detector switch has an optimized terminal shape
– a short fork terminal – achieved using high-precision die manufacturing and
stamping technology. This has reduced the overall thickness of the product by
25%, thereby contributing to thinner, lighter customer equipment. It is a
solderless design – a popular feature of existing models allowing one-touch
board mounting. The use of a double-sided sliding contact ensures stable
contact even in shock and vibration environments.

22 Jul 2019 Amadeus launches a new enhanced version of its flagship
Web Services solution called Amadeus Travel API. This

Atos orchestrates AURAGEN’s genomic sequencing
calculation solution
July 18, 2019 Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, was selected by
GCS AURAGEN - to provide and orchestrate the high-performance
computing infrastructure and storage of a new genomic pilot platform for
high-flow sequencing calculation. This platform has been selected as part of
the French national plan for Genomic Science (‘France Médecine Génomique
2025’[2]). Atos will manage this project together with its partners and
co-contractors EOLAS and A2COM, which manage the hosting and
outsourcing of health data respectively. The objective of this national plan is to
integrate the sequencing of individual genomes into a ‘care pathway’ to enable
personalized diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients. Initially, it
will mainly concern people suffering from cancer and rare diseases for whom
new therapeutic strategies may be proposed according to the genetic variations
identified. Atos has implemented an industrial solution for GCS AURAGEN

Storage Adapter for Bare Metal and Virtualized Servers
Aug. 06, 2019 -- Broadcom Inc. announced an NVMe over
Fabrics storage adapter solution designed to greatly simplify
storage disaggregation and accelerate the adoption of storage
over fabrics in cloud and enterprise networks. The solution
enables a server to seamlessly connect to a large number of
solid-state drives (SSDs) on the network and communicate
with these SSDs as if they were local drives. Until now
NVMe-oF was only available on servers running recent
versions of the Linux operating system, so any server running

Agilent Companion Diagnostic Gains Expanded FDAApproval
in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC)
July 31, 2019 Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the company's PD-L1
IHC 22C3 pharmDx assay for expanded use. The assay is now
approved as an aid in identifying patients with ESCC for treatment
with KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab), an anti-PD-1 therapy
manufactured by Merck (known as MSD outside the United States
and Canada). KEYTRUDA is approved for patients with recurrent
locally advanced or metastatic ESCC whose tumors express PD-L1
[Combined Positive Score (CPS) ≥ 10] as determined by an
FDA-approved test, with disease progression on or after one prior line
of systemic therapy. PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx is the only
companion diagnostic FDA-approved to aid in identifying ESCC
patients for second-line treatment with KEYTRUDA. This is the sixth
cancer type for which PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx has gained FDA
approval in the United States.

Sky Studios acquires stake in UK based natural history
producer True to Nature
7th August 2019 Sky Studios announced its acquisition of a 24.9% stake in True
to Nature (TTN), one of the UK’s fastest growing producers of high-end natural
history programmes. Bristol-based TTN was founded in 2016 by former Head of
the BBC Natural History Unit, Dr Wendy Darke. Despite only being three years
old, TTN is already delivering a number of premium factual series this year,
including EXPEDITION with Steve Backshall, a 10-part series currently airing
on Dave (UKTV), as well as Undiscovered Worlds with Steve Backshall on the
BBC. Other productions this year include Planet of Volcanoes on PBS, ZDF and
ARTE as well as a five-part series, Gangs of Lemur Island for Love Nature and
the Smithsonian Channel. Following completion of the deal, Wendy’s highly
recognised editorial and production team will be further strengthened and
expanded, enabling TTN to tell even more of nature’s most compelling stories.
The investment is the first to be made by Sky Studios, Sky’s new Europe-wide
development and production capability. With the backing of new owners
Comcast, Sky’s investment in original content will more than double over the
next five years across a range of genres.

LIFT Labs Accelerator, Powered By Techstars
Jul 15, 2019 Comcast NBCUniversal announced the 11 startups
selected for the second Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator,
powered by Techstars. The startups were chosen from hundreds of
applicants from 46 countries and whose businesses focused on
developing the next generation of connectivity, media, and
entertainment. They will call Comcast NBCUniversal’s global
headquarters in Philadelphia home for the duration of the 13-week
program, which kicked off. The diverse selection of startups, which
includes one-third of the companies having a female founder, will
partner with mentors and teams at the new Comcast Technology Center
in Philadelphia where LIFT Labs occupies an entire state-of-the-art
floor dedicated to working with the startup community. They will also
participate in custom workshops, training sessions, and business
meetings unique to the company and its LIFT Labs program throughout
the course of the accelerator.

Fujifilm Completes Acquisition of Biogen's
Manufacturing Site in Denmark
August 1, 2019 ― FUJIFILM Corporation announced that it has
completed the acquisition of Biogen (Denmark) Manufacturing
ApS, a large-scale biologics manufacturing site located in
Hillerød near Copenhagen, Denmark (“Hillerød
Manufacturing”) from Biogen. Fujifilm invested approximately
US$890 million in cash for the transaction. With the closing of
this transaction, the Hillerød Manufacturing site is now the
fourth biopharmaceutical manufacturing site of FUJIFILM
Diosynth Biotechnologies, a subsidiary of Fujifilm and a leading
Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization
(“CDMO”) with expertise in the development and manufacture
of biologics and advanced therapies. Hillerød Manufacturing
will change its name to FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies
Denmark ApS once all regulatory procedures are complete.
