INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS HYBRID CAR TECHNOLOGY
 Any vehicle/car is hybrid when it
combines two or more source of power
such as gasoline/ CNG/Hydrogen /LPG
And rechargeable Battery.
 A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) combine
the power of a conventional internal
combustion engine with an electric
motor.
WHY HYBRIDS
TECHNOLOGY ?
 As there is a constant rise in fuel prices ,
 It is must for us to look for an alternative
such as hybrids.
 Hybrid has optimum mileage in its class.
 Dependency on fossils can be
decreased.
 They produces much less emissions and
use about 50% less fuel than the average
new vehicle in the same (partial zero
 Hybrids are less but not zero
emission vehicles.
 But Will reduces down Emissions of
global- warming pollutants by one
third to a half.
 Later models may reduces down
these emissions even more.
 The global temperature of earth
increase 0.6 to 0.9 degree Celsius
between 1996 to 2005
 1st Hybrid car was built in 1899 by an German
Automotive engineer FERDINAND PORSCHE
.
 1900: Pieper introduced hybrid
 1905: gas electric car
 1997: Toyota prius has been released which
is best selling car in
hybrid car industry
 1999: Honda insight released in us (70mpg)
became 1st mass production HEV
 2004 Toyota prius 2nd model & Honda insight
in 2010 to 2014 and now available.
 As January 2017 over 12 million hybrid

 Toyota prius the world most popular
hybrid car uses a combination of an IC
engine and a battery electric drive
system to increase fuel economy and
reduces emission when pulling from
stop the electric motor powers the car
drawing for battery for power .
 It works on the principle on both
electric and fuel to collecting and
reusing the energy of gasoline burning
that would other wise go waste in
standard vehicles.

than electric vehicles
 Uses less fuel to charge batteries
 20% 30% mileage than ICE
 50% reduction in emission .
 Regenerative braking system stores
electrical energy in batteries .
DISADVANTAGES
 Reduced but not zero emission
 more expensive than conventional
vehicles

power , performance & luxury ,but also focus on
emissions, efficiency and reliability .
 The demand of fossil fuels will be at critical stage
in the coming future resulting in high price of fuel
and become so hotter& polluted to our
atmosphere.
 The present emission rate from the vehicles is so
high that they are adding to global warming .
 There is a need for both human being and our
environment the clean & less emission vehicles .
 Hence , Hybrid and electric will be best options for
HONDA INSIGHT HYBRID
CHEVEROLET VOLT HYBRID

INTRODUCTION WHAT IS HYBRID CAR TECHNOLOGY  Any vehicle/car is hybrid when it combines two or more source of power such as gasoline/ CNG/Hydrogen /LPG And rechargeable Battery.  A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) combine the power of a conventional internal combustion engine with an electric motor.

WORKING OF HYBRID SYSTEM  Toyota prius the world most popular hybrid car uses a combination of an IC engine and a battery electric drive system to increase fuel economy and reduces emission when pulling from stop the electric motor powers the car drawing for battery for power .  It works on the principle on both electric and fuel to collecting and reusing the energy of gasoline burning that would other wise go waste in standard vehicles.
