Schering-Piough Healthcare Prod-
ucts the Volunteer STAR Award, on
behalf of Gov. Phil Bredcsen, Fri-
day afternoon at the Michigan
Avenue plant.
Anationally recognized program,
the Volunteer Safely Through
Accountability and Recognition
(STAR)Award is the stale's highest
honor for workplace safety and
health.
Commissioner Neeley congratu-
lated Schering-Piough's employees
by saying. "The evaluation criteria
for the STARaward are ambitious.
I am most impressed wtth manage-
ment's commltmcnl to creating a
safe working environment and the
manner in which employees have
been empowered and trained to
recognize and correct workplace
hazards."

improvement of.a company's safely
and health program, which helps
reduce accidents and injuries. The
program also allows employers lo be
removed from programmed compli-
ance inspection lists for a period of
three years. TOSHA consultants work

application process.
