LABEL THE FOLLOWING
1.
2.
3.
4.
NEPHRON
 The structural and the functional unit of kidneys.
 Acts as a filtration unit of the kidney.
 Each kidney has a large no.s of these filtration units.
THE STRUCTURAL & THE FUNCTIONAL UNIT
Excretory System:
NEPHRON
Nervous System:
NEURON
WORKING OF NEPHRON: URINE
FORMATION
1.FILTRATION
2.
REABSORPTION
3.SECRETION
ACTIVITY: FILTRATION
URINE FORMATION:
 The water & impurities which are not dissolved are
sent to collecting duct. The filtrate contains more of
dissolved nitrogenous wastes i.e. urea and hence it
is termed as urine . From here the urine enters the
ureter and is collected in the urinary bladder.
NITROGENOUS
WASTE
UREA
FINAL RECAPITULATION
1. Name the given structure.
2. Position of the given structure…………….
3. Function of the given structure…………….
HOME ASSIGNMENT
1. Draw a well labelled diagram of a NEPHRON.
2. The kidneys in the human beings are a part of
the system for
a. Nutrition
b. Respiration
c. Excretion
d. Transportation

Editor's Notes

  • #3 There are a lot of metabolic reactions occur inside a human body. A lot of molecules are synthesized and a lot of molecules are consumed.. And eventually a lot of certain harmful and unwanted products are produced inside the body.. These products has to be eliminated from inside the body.. Digestion, Respiration and Excretion are three biological processes to eliminate the waste products.
