What it is?



              With support from
Mission
QLab supports the competitiveness enhancement of the
Moldovan ICT sector and promote maturation of the market
through active knowledge transfer to contribute to the
overall Moldovan economy growth.
Vision
In 3 year period, Qlab will create a platform of knowledge
and best practice transfer that will contribute to the
organizational excellence and the qualification of one third
of the private IT companies and IT specialists; become the
main counterpart of the businesses and government in ICT
research and innovation and prepare the background to
triple the effective output of the education system in IT.
Previous results
Past and future

• In the last one year, Qlab trained about 5% of
  the 2000 people represented by ATIC it is
  planned to reach 30% in three years.
• Aggregate the existing demand in training and
  find the optimized solutions in 5 areas where
  local capacity exists
• Build local capacity in 3 strategic areas
• 700-1000 trained specialists in the above
  mentioned areas.
Provide process improvement
consultation and/or certification for
the private companies
• Reasonable number of companies and
  organizations trained their people increase their
  capacity
• Companies and organization supported to
  improve processes and quality
• Companies and organization certified on
  international standards
Initiate, Plan and Perform Research and
Innovation Activities
 • Identify and explore opportunities to support ICT
   sector ( work with donors) – at least 5 projects in the
   above mentioned areas.
 • Assess, analyze and forecast labor and qualification
   needs for the ICT development in the next 5 years
 • Provide research, training and analysis about
   eGovernment development
 • Initiate, plan and perform technology and innovation
   research
3 Year Results

• Reach 3000 of ICT specialties graduates per year( now
  it is 1500)
• Improve the effectiveness of the education system
  measured as “people ready to be employed” from 10%-
  15% to 50%
• Introduction of optional/mandatory IT services related
  courses
• Improved curriculum for ICT( measures to be defined)
