The main purpose of museum is to neither educate nor entertain but rather to create a memory bank that would remind us of the past. Most societies in different parts of the world traced their origin through the works of arts history. All across the world there are hundreds of museums filled with history, information, shows, and famous documents. A variety of museums display interesting objects. A mix of cultures, historical events, famous people, and art work in the whole museum. Rather than having different attractions, some museums are dedicated to showing of shows based on a particular topic of history or interest for example the National Museum.
Upon going for an exhibition at one of the national museums, the experience I gained was very valuable and important on the understanding of the artworks used by the early humans . The visual experience gained during the exhibition was more appealing compared to reading of the curatorial essay about the exhibition at the museum which was entitled the The American Early Plates. The visual experience gives a visitor the chance to physically interact with artifacts especially when one can touch the artifacts. The curator essay about the exhibition in the museum had a lot of significance in understanding the artifacts used in the exhibition. The curatorial essay gave me the knowledge of understanding the origin, uses and dates of the various artifacts I visually witnessed at the museum. In general the visiting of the museum exhibit gave me a valuable experience as demonstrated.
The exhibition made me understand that a museum is an institution housing collections of objects of artistic, historic, or scientific interest and displayed for the educational and enjoyment of the public. I also noticed that Museums are places of memory that provides the link of distant past to the present generation which also help the society to know the path their forebears trod. The visit of the exhibition gave me the understanding of the artifacts in the display for example the display of an artifact referred to as the American earliest plate
The exhibition gave visitors the experience of comparing the modern American plates and those used in the early days. The exhibition gave the visitors a great chance to know the improvements the materials presented at the exhibition have undergone over time and the factors that have triggered such improvements. The visitors were also able learn history behind the making such of plates, the skills for making such plates and their relevance in those days.
In conclusion special exhibition helps one understand that museums are trustworthy, the importance of various artifacts to aid in the reconstruction of history. One is also able to compare the artifacts in museum with related objects which are currently in use. The importance of museum to hold a special exhibition for various artifacts is also understood.

1. What can artifacts and cave paintings tell us about early man? By: mia cothran myp1
2. Artifact #1 These stones are divided into categories such as ancient galaxies , animals prehistoric continents and ancient catastrophes . This artifact was found in a small village in Peru called ICA . It is believed to be ancient stones with engraved mysterious patterns. These stones have been divided into categories such as ancient animals, space galaxies , prehistoric continents and ancient catastrophes. 3. Artifact #2 This is where you insert the chemicals This artifact was found in Bagdad Iraq 1936 . It is believed to be a earthenware vase 5 inches tall and a ancient chemical battery. This artifact shows us that as early as the third century BC the Persians living in the region already had batteries.
4. Artifact #3 This round ball is perfectly intact even today . This artifact was found in a hillside in South Africa. This artifact is a metal ball about one inch in diameter; some of them are engraved with three circular grooves in the middle of the balls. It appears that these balls are from the Precambrian geological age, which was 2.8 billion years ago. Some people believe that they are relics from prehistoric civilization. This artifact can show us that this could be used as a weapon or something different.
5. Artifact #4 As you can see this giant ball is much larger than a human figure ad is made out of pure granite. This artifact was found in a jungle in Costa Rica . It is believed to be a very large stone ball. Scientists soon discovered that this ball was made of solid granite, Archaeologists say that “they must have had very sturdy tools and excellent carving skills.” this artifact shows that even now hundreds of years later that this giant ball is still fully intact and is a heavy attraction. This “giant ball” was found in Costa Rica .
6. Cave paintings This cave painting is 17,300 years old. This cave painting was found in Lascaux France. Some theories hold that they may have been a way of communicating with others, while other theories describe them as a religious or ceremonial purpose. This cave painting shows us that back then there were many forms of communication and that paintings is one of them. This cave painting is 17,300 years old The bulls are the most dominant parts of the cave painting. Did you know? That this cave painting was discovered when a boy was looking for his pet dog ! 17 feet (5.2 m) long .
7. Cave paintings. Human figures are more common in European and African rock art. This cave painting was found in South Africa an is about 3,000 years old. the paintings by the San people who settled in the area some 8,000 years ago depict animals and humans, and are thought to represent religious beliefs. Human figures are much more common in African than in European rock art. This painting shows humans that cave paintings can be used as a form of expressing ideas. This are little figures of men from a tribe. This cave painting represents religion, ancient animals and more .
9. What tools were used for the cave paintings. well, in many cave paintings discovered today, archeologists have found that most drawings upon the caves would have been outlined from natural paints [ from rocks] or other natural resources. something that could have been difficult to painters would have been that the cave paintings could have been destroyed at any point in time and there could have been hard or rocky surfaces.
10. Why did prehistoric people make these paintings anyway? well, from the information I have gathered it is quite clear to me that cave paintings were used as a form of expressing opinions on religion, cultures, sacrifices and catastrophes. in the cave painting found in South Africa it states that the cave painting was there to express ideas on religions. Also in the Lascaux painting it says theories say that it was created as a form of communicating with other tribes.

12. DID YOU KNOW? That most cave paintings were executed mainly in red and white with the occasional use of green and yellow. The Maya of Central America believed that caves were the gateway to the Underworld! Most states define caves as natural features that can be entered by human beings and which are totally dark at some point. That they used charcoal as a main supplier of color.
