Is….
 • The Community HUB™ is a social venture which
combines the passion of a social mission with an image
of business-like discipline, innovation, and determination
 • The HUB aims to facilitate the development of especially
youth, through the offering of technology, arts,
   environmental and enterprise-based programming
relevant to the current local cultural and socio-economic
realities of the areas in which we operate.

“We believe the young people must want to live
first, before we can teach them math and english”
(Bill Strickland)
Our Theory of Change

• We believe that if we offer attractive programming
facilitated by professional and committed staff in the
context of a nurturing and well equipped environment
that participants will respond positively, and will be given
the opportunity to transform their lives - permanently.
• These transformations can move from a personal to
  community to the national level.
Change Defined
We define Change / transformation on four
 levels:
  – Personal Competence
  – Economic Sustainability
  – Civic and Community Involvement
  – Environmental Awareness
Personal Competence

“To whom much is given, much is expected”

  – Life skills such as Math and writing, critical
    thinking, self-expression and decision-
making, and social skills such as
    dependability, ethics, positive attitudes and
    cooperativeness
Economic Competence

“Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent
  hands bring wealth”
  – Vocational and ownership skills that focus on
solving real problems within real business
    constraints: working in teams, time
    management, awareness of business and
industry; digital literacy; financial literacy and
    career specific competencies.
Civic and Community Involvement

“Freely you have received, freely give”
           Giving back is essential.
– The ability of individuals to be conscious of their own
interests and how those interests are threatened or
enriched by factors in the external environment. It
also involves their ability to mobilize the material and
intellectual resources necessary to act on their
environment in a manner that advances their
  collective interests.
– The grounding of the individual in their history and
culture, knowledge of the past and present as context
in which to make decisions with respect to the future.
Environmental Awareness
• “We believe that if we have nurturing environments, we
should also have nurturing people.” Bill Strickland CEO
  Manchester Bidwell Corporation

• “ The environmental crisis is an outward manifestation of
a crisis of mind and spirit” Lynton K Caldwell
• We also seek to provide hands-on education esp. to
young people w.r.t the natural environmental; influencing
deeper values and shaping behaviors toward a more
  environmentally friendly stance
Our Beliefs
Youth Impact Youth
• Youth can have the biggest impact on youth. Our role is
to provide an environment and a system of positive
reinforcements to support those youth who exhibit the
right attitudes and values, so that they can influence and
  impact upon their peers.
We need your Support!
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good
  men do nothing." Edmund Burke

• “One of the problems with the current societal and
economic paradigm is that inherently, the world’s best
people (and resources) aren’t matched with the world’s
  biggest problems”. Atiba Phillips
