2. Opportune in its quest for building world class HRMS platform is continuously
looking for thoughts that will shape up HR functions in future.
A Thought leader requires ability to frame problems imaginatively to seek future proof solutions.
Brainstorming points –
What are the future challenges in managing talent? How to keep Talent motivated?
What changes anticipated in compensations and regulatory compliances?
How to identify, acquire and nurture good talent?
Will past historical data help to identify future issues?
Will past trend analysis help to predict future behavior of all stake holders (Employee,
Management, Government regulations, HR contribution etc.)?
What will be the competency benchmark and performance evaluation mechanism?
Is the dynamics for HR manager changing, earlier being just a people person has now
added challenge of gathering good data for good policy making?

4. Extracts from Opportune Mastermind series 2013 – 2014
“Future HR Scenario”
In order to capture the undercurrents which will be prominent
tomorrow, Opportune conducted a brainstorming session on
“Future HR Scenario”
We had healthy discussion with these leaders on challenges faced by
HR managers in different sectors and the steps which need to be
taken today, in order to mitigate the problems.
Challenges like:
o Managing Talent & keeping them motivated for high productivity
o Identifying, acquiring & nurturing good talent, in the face of stiff
competition
o Retaining Talent & reducing attrition,
o Access to quality data for better HR policy design,
o Competency benchmark and performance evaluation mechanism
5. The discussion drove home the point that data will play a vital part in future HR
scenario. It can add a lot to HR manager’s decision making. They can recognize the
employee engagement issues as these are emerging. It also helps them in
benchmarking and comparing the costs and performance in different geographies
and sectors in the company.
In future, HR automation would play a big role not just for payroll and attendance
activities but required by every organization today that is looking to make decisions
on real data rather than just gut feeling..
The group also emphasized the shift in expectations from HR. Today’s dynamic
corporate world wants HR managers to be a partner even in business development
of the company than just managing employees. Especially so in service industries
Mr. Dhwani Mehta & Mr. Pankaj Shah from Opportune played an active role in
driving the discussion. They suggested possible automation solutions to answer the
new challenges.
The Opportune Mastermind Series is an ongoing initiative to capture the pulse of
HR industry. These events help Opportune Technologies to understand the current
& future trends and assists us in designing forward looking HR systems.
