What is Recruitment in HRM?
• Recruitment is identifying, selecting, hiring and
onboarding employees in any organization.
• Human resource management, or HRM or HR, is
the function of people management within an
organization.
• HR is responsible for the smooth functions of the
organization through an effective administration
process called Human Capital.
• HR focuses on the employees as the company’s
most important asset.

What does Recruitment involve ?
Recruitment is a process which is unique in each organization. There are 15 essential steps
included in the recruitment process. They are as follows -
• Internal Recruiting involves filling the vacancies with the existing employees within the organization. It exclusively
considers the current employees of the organization. It leverages existing talent to promote individual career
growth.
• Retained Recruiting is a type of executive search service where an organization hires a recruiting firm to assist in
filling a specific position, typically a high-level or executive role.
• Contingency recruitment companies receive payment only when the clients or the candidates they represent are
hired by the organization.
• Staffing agencies match qualified applicants with qualified job openings. Moreover, they focus on short-term
or temporary employment positions.
• Outplacement Recruiting is typically an employer-sponsored benefit which helps former employees transition
into new jobs. It is also designed to provide displaced employees with the resources to find new positions or
new career opportunities.
• Reverse Recruiting is a process whereby an employee is encouraged to seek employment with a different
organization which offers a better fit for their skill sets.
