This project is an appraisal of human
resources management in the Nigeria construction industry. The
aims and object of the study included the identification of the
methods adopted for managing human resources in the industry
here in Nigeria. The scope was however limited to human
resources recruitment, selection, training and development. To
achieve these aims and objectives a field survey was carried out
covering fire construction firms. A questionnaire was used to
collect data from the subject of the study. The data was used to
answer the research hypotheses on the recruitment and training
methods adopted in the industry. The analysis of the data reveals,
among others, that construction firms practice a decentralized
system of recruitment, that the on the job training was the most
adapted method by construction firms, and that the major
criteria for selecting applicants for construction jobs were the
academic qualifications and experience, and performance at
interview and tests. Based on these findings, the study concluded
that the methods adopted were limited in scope, and there was

No two individuals/people are same in nature, mental capacities, strategists, opinions, and practices; they contrast broadly additionally as a gathering and are liable to numerous differed impacts. Individuals are responsive, they feel, think and act in this way they can't be worked like a machine or moved and adjusted like format in a room design. They in this way require a careful giving by management personnel.

Executive Summary
As a student of business administration, analyzing today's business world is very
crucial to observe in this complex situation. It is necessary to go through all fields of
knowledge, both theoretical and practical. Before passing four years BBA program, I
have been given an Internship program to have practical knowledge in business life as
a part of my academic program. In this report I had tried to focus my both theoretical
and practical knowledge regarding HRM practices. My project topic is “HR activities
and practices of Asian Telecast Ltd”. I have tried to identify HRM practices of this
organization and how it is working in progress of the organization.
This report outlines some key issues surrounding the field of human resource
management in Asian Telecast Ltd. The study has been conducted Based on the
Human Resources activity of this TV channels current Human Resources (HR)
management strategies, practices and outcomes.
In HR literature, a number of various models and approaches try to demonstrate how a
strategic approach to HR can be translated into a set of coherent HR processes and
practices.
Asian TV has introduced an affluent HR practices that makes the organizations in-
house activity easier and hassle free for the employee.
Thus, the results of this study give positive information on a general national
perspective, where we see that HR strategies are “people oriented”, formalized and
aligned with diversified strategies. However, on the level of the various local
administrations (not tackled in this survey), HR strategies formulated on a central
level might be distant from the actual HR processes and practices in Asian Telecast
Ltd.
Proper planning is ATVs strongest point; all the programs that they have launched so
far are backed by wise strategies with proper market research and massive
advertisement campaigns. Decisions are taken at top level with some participation

from the lower levels showing that they do comprehend the worth of Group decision-
making. However goal setting is a procedure dedicated to only the top management.
Working on newer technologies is a specialty of Asian Telecast Ltd.
I have tried to follow the right methodology for preparing this report, which is very
important to find out the truth, which is hidden behind the curtain. In this report effort
has been given to disclose about organizations system and procedure step by step.
Finally, organizational overview, condition of HRM practice in the media sector of
Bangladesh, findings & recommendations are also included in the report.
Before drawing any conclusion based on this report it may be noted that the report
was prepared in a very short term and there is lack in data. But still the report may be
useful for designing any further study to evaluate the HR facilities provided by the
Asian Telecast Ltd.
