but this does not mean it should be bright purple!
• Think about what really impresses an employer-
work experience, industry knowledge and good
presentation.

• Your CV needs to be clear and well
organised.
• It should be free of spelling or grammatical
errors.
• Images and photos are not needed.
• Highlighting important text and spacing
between new sections will make your CV
easier to read.

 Personal Summary
 Relevant Experience
 Skills Summary
 Education
 Interests
 References
The ordering of these sections
can vary depending on the role
you are looking for.
If, for example, you have been
out of employment for a while,
you may wish to begin with the
Interests and Skills that you have
been developing whilst out of
employment.

5. Give examples!
When writing a CV it is advised to keep your message
brief but to always use examples.
If you want to sell yourself you have to prove your
worth.

6. Your CV is a living document!
 Don’t forget to update your CV regularly with any
new clubs, work experience or voluntary activities
you are involved in.
 By updating regularly you will not have the stress
of trying to remember employment dates or other
information.

7. Remember to plan your CV and
make sure it is targeted towards
the job you want.
