Franklin Blake The Moonstone
The Moonstone Everything is never as it seems. In Wilkie Collin s The Moonstone, three
Hindoos are sent on a quest to recover the sacred Moonstone thieved from their holy temple by an
Englishman. In England, they are stereotyped and become victims of racism. Although Franklin
Blake, one of the protagonists of this story, appears attractive from afar, he is a little uglier up
close. Mr. Blake is appealing overall but exhibits behaviors that are disagreeable, while the
Hindoos fluctuate between appearing villainous and victimized. Despite the Hindoos roles as
antagonist, they are the true victims and heroes of this story. To the Indians, the Moonstone is a
sacred gem in a worshipping temple in India, set in the forehead of the four handed... Show more

He is considered the nicest boy who ever spun a top or broke a window , and is one of those
men the women all like (Collins 29, 218). He is well rounded, being educated in Italian, German,
French, and English culture, making him a sort of universal genius (Collins 30). One his most
detrimental characteristics in his inconsistency in what and how he thinks and acts. Franklin
undergoes puzzling shifts and transformations [...] due to the effect on him of his foreign
training (Collins 62). In consequence, he easily gives up and quits, frequently changing his

bears the disgraceful habit of being constantly in debt. These matters of family notoriety show
the very disgraceful part of Franklin, who has no principle , to Rachel and her mother (Collins

once does something for someone other than himself, as opposed to the Hindoos. He first
searches vigorously for the Diamond, in the hopes of winning over more of Rachel s affection.
Later, when Rachel leaves, he no longer feels interest in the case without the prospect of winning
her over. He goes abroad to forget her (Collins 342). When returning to England, he discovers that

In the circumstances of Auditing Alchemy, the narrative stated that the organization has not
performed a physical count of inventory in quite sometime; with management having uneasy
feelings about organizational profitability and performance, a physical inventory count may provide
additional insight into any potential inventory issues. Another strength of Auditing Alchemy s
internal control system is there extensive amount of check and balances throughout the production
process. The organization sets budgeted production goals based on historical cost and usage
standards for both the organization as a whole and different product types. Each type of sphere is
placed in its respective bin and is tallied; once each sphere has been differentiated and tallied, they
are compared against the production budget. The actual sphere production is compared with
budgeted production amounts to verify that production was efficiently and effectively performed.
Production staff and production manager Jennifer Smith verify that the budgeted and actual
production amounts are in agreement. If there is variance between budgeted and actual production,
the production manager requires staff to recount actual production to verify that no human or
clerical errors have occurred. If the actual inventory count still does not match the budgeted
production, then the production tally sheet is handed over to the production manager for

Povinelli s Mirror Self-Recognition Of Asian Elephants
Gordon Gallup Jr. was the first to hypothesize a connection between mirror self recognition and
empathy by studying evidence of great apes comforting each other. Elephants are highly empathetic
as they support and care for one another in their herds. They can see when something is wrong with
a fellow elephantand try to help. This makes them a perfect candidate for the mirror self recognition
test. Povinelli saw this and conducted an experiment in 1989 using elephants. Years late in 2006
Plotnik conducted a similar experiment and recognized errors made in Povinelli s with the size and
placement of the mirror and health of the elephants used, both ran into the problem of the elephants
seeing the marks as inconsequential.
Daniel Povinelli tested two Asian elephants in 1989 and Plotnik in 2006 tested three Asian
elephants. In both experiments, they used female Asian elephants, they did not use female African
elephants because they touch their heads several time a day due to secretion of their temporal
gland. Female Asian Elephants temporal gland is non secretory (Plotnik, de Waal, and Reiss). The
results would be confusing because Povinelli ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of Povinelli s errors. Plotnik used a bigger mirror and placed it closer so the elephants could touch

and not a new elephant. He also used elephants with good health that could fully participate in the
experiment unlike Povinelli who used Winky who has limited vision in her right eye and Wanda
who has limited trunk movement. A problem both ran into was the elephants ignoring the mark

Analysis Of Theatre Of Cruelty
You are casually taking a stroll near a bridge on a bright sunny day and you happen to stop to
take in the gentle breeze and soak in the sun. To your right a middle aged man hops over the
railing of the bridge and is now standing on the edge. You faint and you never find out the faith of
the man. Not knowing what has happened to the man on the ledge, is how we re left feeling at the
end of Death and the Maiden, we re left guessing at what has happened to Roberto and the state of
mind that Paulina is left in. To figure out what Ariel Dorfman wants us to believe, it is important to
look at Theatre of Crueltyand the ghosts of our past. Examined more closely, Paulina seems to be
imagining Roberto s presence in the concert hall. Theatre of Crueltyis a theatre practice created by
Antonin Artaud. The purpose of this practice is to present real problems and have the audience
reflect on how they would act in these given situations. Theatre of Cruelty highlights the lives of
those who were tormented as a result of those in power. This leads to audience members walking
out and reanalyzing their own lives and actions (Cash). Considering Theatre of Cruelty, Roberto
must be imagined because of the final monologue by Paulina and the stage directions that follow.
She poses several questions to Roberto, as she reaches the climactic moment of shooting Roberto
and asks, And why does it always have to be people like me who have to sacrifice, why are we the
ones who have to make concessions

The Perception Of Sharks In The Film Jaws
The movie Jaws played a big role in the perception of how people look at sharks, Because they
showed the evil that sharks can do. When in reality, there s only 19 shark attacks each year and
2 fatality s every 2 years. The media portrays sharks as some evil demon like fish that once it see
anything it will eat it such as a boat, adults, kids, etc. Movies have depicted sharks by presenting
sharks in a evil in bad way that makes people think that because they have a lot of teeth in a big
mouth that they can just eat everything as it pleases. When in reality, the reason people get
attacked by sharks is because the way it looks to a sharkunderneath the water from below when

Analysis Of Sonnet 116 By William Lynn
what is love
Love is an intense feeling of affection, which every individual have had as an experience either in
the past or present thereby referring or claiming it as true love. In order words, my question goes
like this, does love seem to be true in a literary context, is there any emotional bond that actually
proves love to be pure according to psychological criticism of Texts and Context, book by Steven
Lynn. And can we see love as honest and true, if we answered yes to all these, then how can we
relate it to our personal lives and what is our own definition of true love or real love.
According to my close reading analysis of Sonnet 116 by Shakespeare, is a fourteen line poem that
is organized into three quatrains, ending with a rhymed couplet. Not only that it also has a regular
stress partner which makes the reader to go through some difficulty in understanding what the
author is trying to convey in his poem writing. The first quatrain of the poem began with a
statement to puzzle upon Let me not to the marriage of true mind, Admit impediments Here, the
poet is trying to define love as the marriage of true minds, and therefore claims that he doesn t
wish to find any fault with people who already are in love, therefore the author strongly believed
that for love to be real then there shouldn t be any form of impediments to it. In other words, the
word impediments stops the second lines of the iambic pentameter with its

Data
Discuss the importance of data accuracy. Inaccurate data leads to inaccurate information. What
can be some of the consequences of data inaccuracy? What can be done to ensure data accuracy?
Data accuracy is important because inaccurate data leads may lead to such things as the closing
down of business, it may also lead to the loosing of jobs, and it may also lead to the failure of a
new product. To ensure that one s data is accurate one may double check the data given to them, as
well as has more than one person researching the data they are researching.

Insenstivity Of Humanness In The Stranger By Albert Camus
In society, behaving in a way that distances oneself from others is viewed as unacceptable: be it
mentally or physically. In the novel, The Stranger, by Albert Camus, the main character, Meursault,
does just that. Throughout the novel, Meursault creates a problem for himself by emphasizing his
individual existence rather than acknowledging others. The text suggests that the solution to the
presented problem for Meursault is to recognize the subjectivity of others around him: such as his
mother and friends.
Meursault primarily shows his insensitivity toward others at his mother s funeral. At the funeral,
Meursault does not cry or show any signs of mourning the death of his mother. He is very passive,
and he even disregards the feelings of others present. The text states, The woman kept on crying. It
surprised me, because I didn t know who she was. I wished I didn t have to listen to her anymore
(10). This quote demonstrates Meursault s passivity about the feelings of others. He puts off the
feelings of the woman due to the fact that he has never seen her and he wants her to essentially shut
up. This insensitivity towards others and his own mother s death is eventually used against him
when he is being tried for murder. The fact that Meursault did not cry during the funeral and that he
admittedly smoked in front of his mother s casket while keeping vigil leads the prosecutor to
question Meursault s place in society. As Meursault sits in the courtroom, in his mindhe

The Virtual Private Network System
Introduction A virtual private network (VPN) is a system that utilizes public telecommunication
infrastructure, such as the Internet, to offer remote offices or single users with safe access to their
institution s network ( Collins, Keeley Waye,2000). A virtual private network can be compared to
an expensive system of held or rented lines that can only be utilized by a single organization. The
aim of a VPN is to offer the institution with similar capabilities, but at very low costs
(Hulsebosch,Belmont Manke ,2011). A VPN functions by using the allocated public infrastructure
while retaining confidentiality through safety processes and HYPERLINK http:/

/searchnetworking.techtarget.com/definition/protocol protocols like the Layer Two Tunneling
Protocol (HYPERLINK http://searchenterprisewan.techtarget.com/definition/Layer Two Tunneling
Protocol L2TP). In effect, the protocols, by encrypting data at the dispatching end and decrypting
it at the receiving end, send the data via a tunnel that cannot be accessed by data that is not
appropriately encrypted. An added degree of safety involves encrypting both the data and the
originating and receiving system addresses.A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is therefore a
means of generating a safer link to and from a network or computer system. VPNs have been
utilized for years, but they have become stronger in recent years. They are reasonable and

`` Peace, And Its Nobleness And Holiness And Honor
June Jordan, a Caribbean American poet and activist, once explained that poetry in and of itself
is a political act, because it involves telling the truth. During World War I, statesmen and
politicians propagated the war efforts, asking the men and boys to join the cause and potentially
sacrifice their lives for their country. Back in England, war was looked at in the most idealistic
light. War was glory. War was honor. War was noble. War was good, and it was right for man to
fight. Early in the war, some poets portrayed that rather romanticized version of war. Rupert
Brooke spoke about the war s cleansing abilities in his poem Peace and its nobleness and holiness
and honor in The Dead. But many poets chose to send another message to... Show more content on

The General s introductory cry of Good morning; good morning! upon meeting his troops
illustrates an amiable and positive view of war (1). Moving along the warfront, one soldier,
Harry, remarks to fellow soldier, Jack, that their general is a cheery old card (5). The
camaraderie, however, is short lived, and these two boys exhibit the human cost of war and of
the general s lack of regard for them, for he did for them both by his plan of attack (7). A week
later, the soldiers [the general] smiled at are most of em dead (3). The succinctness and simplicity
of the poem echoes the ease with which men died in war. So too, Wilfred Owen, renowned war
poet and contemporary and mentee of Siegfried Sassoon, replicates his mentor s view on the
prolific lose of life in war, asking in his poem, Anthem of Doomed Youth, What passing bells for
these who die as cattle? (1).
To dispel the propagated glory and honor associated with death in war, in Exposure, Wilfred Owen
explores death by the elements, a common and less glorious way men died in battle. Owen
famously stated, My subject is War, and the pity of War. One such pity that he depicts in his poetry
is the dismal death of soldiers by the cold and frost rather than the expected magnificent death of
soldiers in man to man combat. In Exposure, Owen utilizes the voice of soldiers dying from the
cold. Our brains ache, in the merciless iced east winds that knive us, the soldiers

Internet Sexual Addiction
Internet Sexual Addiction
It seems that the Internet has become an ever growing part in numerous areas of the everyday
lives of people. One area that is worthy of further study involves sexual addiction and how it is
related with too much use of the Internet. Some scholars allege that sociopaths are starting to
emerge online and it has been dubbed as technological addictions . This article looks at Internet
addiction with respect to excessive sexual behavior. It includes discussions of the notion of
addiction to sex and whether the entire notion is viable. This will be achieved through the

Then again, there is still the argument regarding the most apt term to describe the condition of
individuals with extreme sexual behavior including sexual addiction (Carnes, 1983), sexual
impulsivity (Barth Kinder, 1987), sexual compulsion (Coleman, 1986), and non paraphilia related
conditions (Kafka, 1993). Sexual addiction has been defined by Carnes (1999) as any form of
compulsive behavior that is sex related and obstructs a normal life and eventually becomes
uncontrollable, although he has also referred to it as a pathological affiliation with an experience
that alters the mood (Carnes, 1983). By investigating the psychological motive behind addiction,
there seems to be three fundamental classifications: fantasy addictions (sexual activities that break
away from mundane reality), satiation addictions (sexual activities that ease discomfort and
tension), and arousal addictions (sexual activities that thrill and stimulate).Sexual behavior has the
ability to encompass all these three classifications of sexual addiction. It is difficult to determine
the level of sexual addiction though approximations vary from three percent to six percent of the
population (Carnes, 1999). In addition, studies show that there exists a high association between
childhood abuse and addiction to sex in adulthood, and it is very common for a sex addict to have
gone through significant levels of sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. Socio demographic

Implications Of Health Economics Concepts For Healthcare
Implications of Health Economics Concepts for Healthcare Chandra Chisholm Strayer University
HAS 510 Dr. David Tataw May 3, 2015 Value of Healthcare Professionals Healthcare is getting
gradually complex around the world. The need for technological development, economic support,
demographics changes and the study of diseases are shifting at a fast speed. There had been
numerous labors in describing collective capabilities and values within the healthcare organizations.
It is necessary for learning and training programs to be regulated based on the needs of the
humanities they support. Therefore, the institutions that are designing and delivering those
activities must take responsibility for the products they manufacture for the use of the society.
Hence, Academic institutions that are in charge of educating healthcare professionals together with
their various stakeholders must interact in collaboration to create actual and proficient strategies
that will promote suitable culture in the healthcare systems. Current medical education process has
its origins in the European institutions of higher learning that customarily cherished academic
freedom, sovereignty and self regulating exploration over helping humanity and the job market.
Based on this, further efforts want an important shift in the viewpoint and procedures of success for

Comparison Report
Lagothrix and Ateles belzebuth Primates have been around for as long as we can remember and
throughout time they have been classified in specific groups depending on their order and family.
These classifications have given people the opportunity to study primates more in depth according
to their demography, diet and social system by comparing them to one another. Spider monkeys and
Woolly monkeys have branched out from the New world group. But most importantly there are
other categories of monkey s within the spider and woolly monkey s that have given us a deeper
understanding of primates and their natural lives. In particular, the Lagothrix and Ateles belzebuth.
Although, both the Lagothrix and the Ateles Belzebuth monkey s land under the New World
category their behavioral strategies are different.
Life History:
They both come from the subfamily Atelinae. Woolly monkey and the spider monkey are found in
South America. The A. belzebuth are most likely to be found in the northeastern portion of the
Amazonian in South America (Eisenberg, 1989; Emmons, 1997). They tend to live in the upper

SA Being a Constituent of Plants Is Consumed by Herbivore...
SA being a constituent of plants is consumed by herbivores animals as well as humans
Introduction (Explain what are salicylates, its origin and importance in plants)
Salicylic acid (SA) is a Mono hydroxy benzoic acid derived from the metabolism of Salicin, an
alcoholic beta glucoside known for its anti inflammatory properties isolated from willow bark tree.
Salicylic acid has well identified roles in plant growth, physiology and disease resistance.
In plants, Salicylic acid is important in the establishment of both local and systemic acquired
resistance (SAR) analogous to innate immunity in animals. It helps in accumulation of
pathogenesis related (PR) proteins. Blocking SA accumulation by expressing Salicylate
hydroxylase which causes its degradation prevent induction of PR genes. When some parts of a
plant gets infected with viruses like Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), locally produced SA sends
signal to all other regions to get ready for a potential infection. Methyl Salicylate is one of the
important signal for SAR derived from SA, which is not present in plant but is synthesized upon
pathogen infection. SA in cell is converted to methyl salicylate by an SA carboxyl
methyltransferase and this volatile derivative is an important long distance signal. Methyl
Salicylate is then recognized by Salicylic acid binding protein 2 (SABP2) enzyme, which exhibits
150 times more affinity to SA than catalase which helps in conversion of hydrogen peroxide to
water and oxygen. When SA

In the study of micro biology, there are several kinds of pathogens that can be observed in the
human body. They individually can pose a risk ranging from totally harmless, to life threatening,
depending on the pathogen. There are types of bacteria, virus, and even fungus that can cause a
wide range of problems for the human body. But there is one type of pathogen that is just as
elusive as it is dangerous a pathogen that is rarely discovered in the human body, yet when it is,
doctors are at a loss as to what can be done to stop it. It is called a Prion.
A prion is a protein with a three dimensional shape, as opposed to standard proteins. When a prion
comes into contact with another protein, that protein transforms into another prion. ... Show more

However, there is also an opposing theory that suggests that the disease is caused by a virus, and
that the prion is merely a byproduct of the viral activity. When the disease is present within a cow,
it causes the brain to become riddled with holes that go all the way through the brain. Symptoms
manifest in strange behaviors, such as pathological nervousness and increased aggression.
The disease itself made headlines when it an epidemic hit Europe in the 1980s. The outbreak of
BSE, or mad cow disease , was amplified by the practice of feeding cows the meat products of
their own species. If a mad cow s brain matter was in the feeding cow s food, that cow could
contract the disease. The event became a widespread health hazard after a link between BSE and
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease was established, indicating that humans could also contract the disease by
ingesting the brain matter of cows. The epidemic was dealt with by changing the feeding practices
the European meat industry used to feed their cows.
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease is the variant of spongiform encephalopathy that infects humans. It can be
contracted from eating the contaminated brain matter of cows. Contraction of the disease is
specific to the brain matter consuming only muscle tissue from a steak poses no risk of
contamination. The disease targets the brain, and the patient will suffer

China s One Child Policy
In China, there are more than 1.3 billion people living, working and building families. In 1978,
the government created China s one child policy. China s one child policy was established by
Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping in 1979 to limit China s population growth. The policy lets couples
have only one child. If they have another child the mother is pressured to abort the pregnancy. The
one child policy has brought many disasters to china since the one child policy was established.
First are the problems of the female abortions and the killing of infants. As a result, abortions of
females have become commonplace, as well as the killing of babies born post partum. China s

These eras were characterized by wide scale crime and violence. In the past 19th century, China
has had the same problem before. Where there are more men the more violence there is
especially in the lower classes. Ma Jihong is 38years old and she is six months pregnant. So
when 10 people from the local office showed up one morning in October, she slipped through a
gap in the concrete wall around the house and bolted like a sprinter toward the main road. She
was trying to hide her pregnancy from the government. They took my daughter in law at 9 a.m.
By 5 p.m., she was dead, Gao said. Because of the one child policy Mao had to abort her child
even though she was two months away from labor. In 2009, a woman in Liaocheng, also in
Shandong province, died after being forced to get an abortion a week before her due date. They
made a women abort a full grown baby; it wasn t even a fetus because it was fully developed

Distinction Between State and Government
Introduction
The state and government are distinguished in terms of functions, structures, duties, composition
and the nature of their powers. The state is permanent, whilst government changes, altered or
modified and even overthrown. The state employs bureaucrats who employed based on merit and
who are politically neutral to conduct its business whilst government consists of elected officials
who represent partisan sympathies. The state is more extensive than the government. The state is
characterized by state institutions, exercise of legitimacy, territorial association and sovereignty
whilst government is composed of three arms namely legislature, executive and judiciary. However
the state and government are interrelated as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand the government has power to make laws for the state even without the consent
of the people thus it has absolute and final legal authority over all matters and is not subject to
any power outside itself according to Khan and mc Niven (1999:29). For example laws such as
Public order Security Act (POSA) enforced by the government without seeking the consent of the
people. Therefore, state and government are different in terms of the nature of their powers as each
has its own specific powers different from the other.
Nevertheless, state and government are differentiated as the state is characterized by sovereignty,
state institutions, legitimacy and territorial association whilst government is characterized by the
three arms namely legislature, executive and judiciary respectively. According to Heywood
(2000:39), contends through sovereignty the state exercises absolute and unrestricted power in
that it stands above all other associations and groups in society. Hobbes for this reason portrayed
the state as a Leviathian a gigantic monster. State institutions are recognizably public in contrast to
the private institutions of civil society. The state bodies are responsible for making and enforcing
collective decisions in society and are funded ate the public expense. For example in Zimbabwe the
police, army and courts are funded by the state for them to function fully. Due to legitimacy state
decisions are usually accepted as binding on the

dominate nature with technology and weapons. Mother Nature can heal, nurture and destroy. In the

Pi finds difficulty in discovering himself in his own comfort zone amongst his family. After the
shipwreck Pi is left alone on a lifeboat with a tiger. In this scene an aerial shot of his head
overshadowed by the immense dark lightening of the ocean emphasises Pi s vulnerability. Pi is
faced with many challenges, miraculous occurrences and great suffering along with Richard
Parker. Pi s suffering gets revealed through the powerful storm scene where wide angle shots are
used to portray his weakness in the vast wild deep sea. The storm gets stronger Pi see s the horror it

God , arms spread in supplication: Why are you scaring him? I ve lost my family. I ve lost
everything. I surrender. What more do you want? A wide angle is used so the audience can
comprehend how terrified Pi feels as he is encountered by Mother Nature. Deep orchestral music
accompanied by crashing waves which fades in to sadder choral voices gives a deep sense of Pi s
suffering. The raft is swiped away which is a symbolism of Pi losing his haven material possession
which kept him alive for so long. Richard Parker is a symbolism of Pi s primitive self braver. A high

solidarity by confirming that This relationship of sisterhood among black women can be seen as
a model for a series of relationships African American women have with one another (260). That
is to say, this relationship between black women is seen as a usual one since they have always
been fighting the stereotypical images drawn on the black female body. Actually, by placing the
white girl in this context of black female sisterhood, Kidd manages to create new racial and

individual woman herself (195). Previously, she is beaten because of her strong will to change
her situation in her quest for the right to vote. At the end , she asserts herself as a true female as

Roles Of The English Monarchy
The English monarchy s role is to govern the United Kingdom, to unite, keep the United Kingdom
safe, and represent Britain. The English monarchy has been around for centuries since the Romans
to modern day England. The Monarchs take on duties that have been around for centuries. The
monarch, however, is a constitutional monarchywhich means that according to the constitution
there are rules that monarchs must follow. She does not act alone but works with Parliament, the
country s legislative body. One of the official duties of the monarchy is to schedule meetings
with the Prime Minister to discuss on Parliament s latest debates and new bills being formed.
The monarchy must give her approval of the bills before Parliament passes them and they
become law. The monarchs residual powers include enacting legislation, giving out awards of
honor, to sign treaties, and to declare war. The monarch also has the power to decline the
government s request to dissolve Parliament and call an election. The monarch chooses a Prime
Minister to guide the monarchy and is responsible for policies and decisions in government. Today,

Honey Bees And Bees
Honey Bees are just seen as this iconic animal that just pollinates flowers. Yes, it is true that
honey bees do pollinate flowers, but you need to look deeper. Flowers produce nectar not just
because they want to but to attract bees. When bees pollinate flowers that are spreading the genes
of other flowers. For example, if a bee goes to get pollen from one tree, then takes it to another tree
that bee took some of the genes from the first tree. This then creates a new plant with genes from
both trees. This is exactly how plants reproduce because they cannot move and are physically stuck
in the ground. But pollinating plants and spreading genes benefit both the plants and honeybees.
Honey bees get nutrients like carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins from pollinating plants. They
use these nutrients not to just feed themselves, but also their sisters. Interesting enough Honey
bees don t go pollinate plants to just feed themselves but also everyone in the hive. But not all
bees are foragers, but all foragers are females. Some facts about bees are that animal pollinated
plants are responsible for 1 in 3 bites of food we eat. It is said that 75% of food is pollinated
dependent. Which means almost every time you eat, you are eating food that is helped produced
through the pollination of bees. Honey is a huge profit for North America of over 500 billion
dollars every year and the honey industry produces 1.5 million tons of honey every year. Interesting

Justification And Justification For The Act Of Being Set...
The simple noun justification refers to the act of being set right or made right. Justification,
however, is not just limited to just being corrected. It has influences in other various meanings to it
as well. For example, justification also means the act of removing debt, being vindicated by judge,
or having a relationship restored all fall under the meaning of justification. This is essentially Gods
act of removing the sin within us humans while considering us to be righteous through Christ s
sacrifice. As stated in Christ Our Salvation , Those who are righteous will live by faith(Larondelle,
10). This means that justification must exist in order to have people who live by faith and for
these people to be saved and redeemed. Justification helps to show that we humans are in need
of daily justification through faith in Christ (Abrams, 97). Sanctification is defined to be the act
or process by which people are cleansed and set apart from others to do God s will. Some
synonyms used in the New Interpreter s Dictionary of the Bible are: to be set apart, to dedicate,
to purify, to make sacred, and to manifest holiness. The Dictionary states that to be sanctified is
to be graciously taken up and set apart for participation in the saving or reconciling purposes of
God. For Christians, this happens when they become and remain part of the community of God s
people, who are shaped by the Holy Spirit in the image of God. This is where God makes us Holy.

Do patients who undergo renal transplantation suffer from long term dental/health complications as

My search strategy for the scientific literature started with PubMed. I input the following phrase
into the search bar: Dental complications from kidney transplants . 100 articles were gathered as
potential scientific literatures that could be used for my specific learning issue. In finding articles
that provided general dental and health complications, the task offered a manageable list of
scientific articles to sift through. For the next time, I would like to focus on specific dental/health
complications from kidney transplants and how it could affect patients in such ways instead of in a
general systemic manner.
The first selected article, The status of dental and jaw bones in children and adolescents after

encounter after renal transplantation within the oral cavity. The research question the Department
of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland, posed was to

I really take pride in the number and the number of diversity of activities that I have been
involved with throughout my high school career. My freshmen year and sophomore year, I was
involved in athletics through the girls badminton team. Being a part of a team showed me the
power of hard work and dedication and greatly influenced my involvement in other activities in
the following years. As a junior, I pursued my interest in journalism with my participation in the
school s newspaper. I wrote various articles that ranged from school happenings to global issues. I
cherish being a part of newspaper because I was given the opportunity to connect with my peers on

In this program I get to learn the tasks and responsibilities that come along with nurse assisting. By
the end of the program I am able to take a test to get certified to work as a nursing assistant in
medical facilities. In order to receive my certification I have to have a certain number of hours
shadowing a CNA in a facility and that is something that I have really come to enjoy. Helping
patients with a their daily activities gives me a sense of joy and pride. I would say my second
greatest accomplishment is becoming president of the Gay Straight Alliance chapter at my
school. As president I am able to provide a safe environment for my peers along with a place where
we can expand our knowledge together overall making the school a better place for everyone.
Another achievement I take a lot of pride in is regards to my academics, over the years I have
shown improvement particularly in my senior year. I have worked hard to achieve my dream of
becoming an all A s student and my work has payed off.
Students statement:
I feel I am deserving of this award because it is not only beneficial to me but long term it can be
beneficial to society. My dream is to become a psychiatric nurse eventually and spread awareness
of mental illness and remove the stigma associated with it. This scholarship would help make my
dreams come true so that I can serve my community and that s all I can really hope for. Thank you

  • 2. Franklin Blake The Moonstone The Moonstone Everything is never as it seems. In Wilkie Collin s The Moonstone, three Hindoos are sent on a quest to recover the sacred Moonstone thieved from their holy temple by an Englishman. In England, they are stereotyped and become victims of racism. Although Franklin Blake, one of the protagonists of this story, appears attractive from afar, he is a little uglier up close. Mr. Blake is appealing overall but exhibits behaviors that are disagreeable, while the Hindoos fluctuate between appearing villainous and victimized. Despite the Hindoos roles as antagonist, they are the true victims and heroes of this story. These matters of family notoriety show the very disgraceful part of Franklin, who has no principle , to Rachel and her mother (Collins 263, 395). Every act performed by Franklin Blake is beneficial to his personal gain; he never once does something for someone other than himself, as opposed to the Hindoos. He first searches vigorously for the Diamond, in the hopes of winning over more of Rachel s affection. Later, when Rachel leaves, he no longer feels interest in the case without the prospect of winning her over. He goes abroad to forget her (Collins 342). When returning to England, he discovers that the Diamond [is] an unpardoned offense and searches to lay [his]hands on the thief who took the Moonstone , not for the sake of justice but because [he] won t accept that position (Collins 345). Each type of sphere is placed in its respective bin and is tallied; once each sphere has been differentiated and tallied, they are compared against the production budget. The actual sphere production is compared with budgeted production amounts to verify that production was efficiently and effectively performed. • 5. Povinelli s Mirror Self-Recognition Of Asian Elephants Gordon Gallup Jr. was the first to hypothesize a connection between mirror self recognition and empathy by studying evidence of great apes comforting each other. Elephants are highly empathetic as they support and care for one another in their herds. They can see when something is wrong with a fellow elephantand try to help. This makes them a perfect candidate for the mirror self recognition test. Povinelli saw this and conducted an experiment in 1989 using elephants. Years late in 2006 Plotnik conducted a similar experiment and recognized errors made in Povinelli s with the size and placement of the mirror and health of the elephants used, both ran into the problem of the elephants seeing the marks as inconsequential. Daniel Povinelli tested two Asian elephants in 1989 and Plotnik in 2006 tested three Asian elephants. In both experiments, they used female Asian elephants, they did not use female African elephants because they touch their heads several time a day due to secretion of their temporal gland. • 6. Analysis Of Theatre Of Cruelty You are casually taking a stroll near a bridge on a bright sunny day and you happen to stop to take in the gentle breeze and soak in the sun. To your right a middle aged man hops over the railing of the bridge and is now standing on the edge. You faint and you never find out the faith of the man. Not knowing what has happened to the man on the ledge, is how we re left feeling at the end of Death and the Maiden, we re left guessing at what has happened to Roberto and the state of mind that Paulina is left in. To figure out what Ariel Dorfman wants us to believe, it is important to look at Theatre of Crueltyand the ghosts of our past. Examined more closely, Paulina seems to be imagining Roberto s presence in the concert hall. Theatre of Crueltyis a theatre practice created by Antonin Artaud. The purpose of this practice is to present real problems and have the audience reflect on how they would act in these given situations. Analysis Of Sonnet 116 By William Lynn what is love Love is an intense feeling of affection, which every individual have had as an experience either in the past or present thereby referring or claiming it as true love. In order words, my question goes like this, does love seem to be true in a literary context, is there any emotional bond that actually proves love to be pure according to psychological criticism of Texts and Context, book by Steven Lynn. And can we see love as honest and true, if we answered yes to all these, then how can we relate it to our personal lives and what is our own definition of true love or real love. According to my close reading analysis of Sonnet 116 by Shakespeare, is a fourteen line poem that is organized into three quatrains, ending with a rhymed couplet. Not only that it also has a regular stress partner which makes the reader to go through some difficulty in understanding what the author is trying to convey in his poem writing. The first quatrain of the poem began with a statement to puzzle upon Let me not to the marriage of true mind, Admit impediments Here, the poet is trying to define love as the marriage of true minds, and therefore claims that he doesn t wish to find any fault with people who already are in love, therefore the author strongly believed that for love to be real then there shouldn t be any form of impediments to it. • 12. Insenstivity Of Humanness In The Stranger By Albert Camus In society, behaving in a way that distances oneself from others is viewed as unacceptable: be it mentally or physically. In the novel, The Stranger, by Albert Camus, the main character, Meursault, does just that. Throughout the novel, Meursault creates a problem for himself by emphasizing his individual existence rather than acknowledging others. The text suggests that the solution to the presented problem for Meursault is to recognize the subjectivity of others around him: such as his mother and friends. Meursault primarily shows his insensitivity toward others at his mother s funeral. At the funeral, Meursault does not cry or show any signs of mourning the death of his mother. He is very passive, and he even disregards the feelings of others present. The text states, The woman kept on crying. It surprised me, because I didn t know who she was. I wished I didn t have to listen to her anymore (10). This quote demonstrates Meursault s passivity about the feelings of others. He puts off the feelings of the woman due to the fact that he has never seen her and he wants her to essentially shut up. This insensitivity towards others and his own mother s death is eventually used against him when he is being tried for murder. The fact that Meursault did not cry during the funeral and that he admittedly smoked in front of his mother s casket while keeping vigil leads the prosecutor to question Meursault s place in society. A virtual private network can be compared to an expensive system of held or rented lines that can only be utilized by a single organization. The aim of a VPN is to offer the institution with similar capabilities, but at very low costs (Hulsebosch,Belmont Manke ,2011). In effect, the protocols, by encrypting data at the dispatching end and decrypting it at the receiving end, send the data via a tunnel that cannot be accessed by data that is not appropriately encrypted. An added degree of safety involves encrypting both the data and the originating and receiving system addresses.A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is therefore a means of generating a safer link to and from a network or computer system. During World War I, statesmen and politicians propagated the war efforts, asking the men and boys to join the cause and potentially sacrifice their lives for their country. Back in England, war was looked at in the most idealistic light. War was glory. War was honor. War was noble. War was good, and it was right for man to fight. Early in the war, some poets portrayed that rather romanticized version of war. Rupert Brooke spoke about the war s cleansing abilities in his poem Peace and its nobleness and holiness and honor in The Dead. But many poets chose to send another message to... The camaraderie, however, is short lived, and these two boys exhibit the human cost of war and of the general s lack of regard for them, for he did for them both by his plan of attack (7). A week later, the soldiers [the general] smiled at are most of em dead (3). The succinctness and simplicity of the poem echoes the ease with which men died in war. So too, Wilfred Owen, renowned war poet and contemporary and mentee of Siegfried Sassoon, replicates his mentor s view on the prolific lose of life in war, asking in his poem, Anthem of Doomed Youth, What passing bells for these who die as cattle? (1). To dispel the propagated glory and honor associated with death in war, in Exposure, Wilfred Owen explores death by the elements, a common and less glorious way men died in battle. Owen famously stated, My subject is War, and the pity of War. One such pity that he depicts in his poetry is the dismal death of soldiers by the cold and frost rather than the expected magnificent death of soldiers in man to man combat. • 22. SA Being a Constituent of Plants Is Consumed by Herbivore... SA being a constituent of plants is consumed by herbivores animals as well as humans Introduction (Explain what are salicylates, its origin and importance in plants) Salicylic acid (SA) is a Mono hydroxy benzoic acid derived from the metabolism of Salicin, an alcoholic beta glucoside known for its anti inflammatory properties isolated from willow bark tree. Salicylic acid has well identified roles in plant growth, physiology and disease resistance. In plants, Salicylic acid is important in the establishment of both local and systemic acquired resistance (SAR) analogous to innate immunity in animals. It helps in accumulation of pathogenesis related (PR) proteins. Blocking SA accumulation by expressing Salicylate hydroxylase which causes its degradation prevent induction of PR genes. When some parts of a plant gets infected with viruses like Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), locally produced SA sends signal to all other regions to get ready for a potential infection. Methyl Salicylate is one of the important signal for SAR derived from SA, which is not present in plant but is synthesized upon pathogen infection. SA in cell is converted to methyl salicylate by an SA carboxyl methyltransferase and this volatile derivative is an important long distance signal. Methyl Salicylate is then recognized by Salicylic acid binding protein 2 (SABP2) enzyme, which exhibits 150 times more affinity to SA than catalase which helps in conversion of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen. Symptoms manifest in strange behaviors, such as pathological nervousness and increased aggression. The disease itself made headlines when it an epidemic hit Europe in the 1980s. The outbreak of BSE, or mad cow disease , was amplified by the practice of feeding cows the meat products of their own species. • 29. Catullus Affair With Lesbia The tale of Catullus and his affair with Lesbia is an interesting one. He conveys his emotions of love, happiness, sadness, and possibly anger throughout the poems. In V, their love affair is in its honeymoon stage of extreme love and affection. Catullus especially conveys these emotions in the line Let thoughts kisses rain, a thousand bliss. The poem sounds as if he were directly talking to Lesbia and telling her to be just as enraptured by their loveas he is. Although her emotions are not revealed, both characters are most likely very emotionally invested in one another. Tejano Conjunto Analysis Elaborating on the modernist thrust of Tejano conjunto, PeГ±a addresses the musical innovation during the post war period and attributes these changes to los mГєsicos modernos Valerio Longoria, Tony De La rosa, Paulino Bernal, and RubГ©n Vela. • 34. Honey Bees And Bees Honey Bees are just seen as this iconic animal that just pollinates flowers. Yes, it is true that honey bees do pollinate flowers, but you need to look deeper. Flowers produce nectar not just because they want to but to attract bees. When bees pollinate flowers that are spreading the genes of other flowers. For example, if a bee goes to get pollen from one tree, then takes it to another tree that bee took some of the genes from the first tree. This then creates a new plant with genes from both trees. This is exactly how plants reproduce because they cannot move and are physically stuck in the ground. But pollinating plants and spreading genes benefit both the plants and honeybees.
