Jane Austen s Novel And True Classic Sense And Sensibility
There are many authors whose works are considered to be classics; perhaps the most influential is
Jane Austen. Jane Austen wrote six novels, that in today s world, we call classics. Her first novel
and true classic Sense and Sensibility, was published in 1811 at a time when the world was just
starting to write full length novels. Though Jane Austenonly lived to be forty one, she contributed
much too modern literature; such as being one of the first major authors to make use of the three
volume novel, and to use chapters within the volumes (Sweeton). One of the many reasons as to
why Jane Austen s novels are considered classics is due to the fact that she wrote about real
social and financial issues of the day; however, financial and social issues are timeless, therefore
they are still relevant in today s world. As one follows along with the Dashwood sisters in Sense
and Sensibility, we see how the title of the story is very fitting; by providing one sister with sense
and the other with sensibility, the story has two different dynamics that create a timeless classic.
Born in 1775, Jane Austen grew up in a time when the dynamics of the world were constantly
changing. Jane Austen was born in Steventon a village of Hampshire England, to a large family
that consisted of seven other children (Jane Austen). Having an interest in writing since a young
age, one of her first works of writing was a novella titled Lady Susan, a story written in epistle form
(which means as a

Tesla Motors, Inc. Essay
Tesla Motors, Inc. was founded in 2003 and joined the automobile industry out of Silicon Valley.
The company is located in 30 different countries with 18 stores worldwide (Mangram, 2012, p.
296). Tesla Motors entered the automobile industry from a different approach in manufacturing
automobiles. The company began designing, manufacturing, and marketing battery electric vehicles
(BEVs) making Tesla the only manufacturer to sell a zero emission sports car, the Tesla Roadster
(Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla manufactured luxury electric vehicles such as Model S, Model X,
and the soon to be released Model 3 (Eisler, 2016, p. 35). With different automobilemanufactures
entering the BEV market, Tesla Motors, Inc. must conduct a SWOT analysis of the company.
SWOT stands for the company s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (Abraham,
2012, sect. 5.2). Strengths and weaknesses analyze the internal aspects of the company, whereas
opportunities and threats analyze the external aspects. The SWOT assesses the strengths of Tesla
Motors derived from technological advancements, global branding, and market adoption
considering the BEV industry is relatively young compared to the engine powered industry
(Mangram, 2012, p. 289). Their strengths are the internal aspect of the company that makes them
competitive against other companies in the same industry. Tesla Motors, Inc. was the first company
to manufacture a zero emission sports car comparable to the Porsche and

Friedrich Nietzsche s Beyond Good And Evil
Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche
In Beyond Good and Evil, Friedrich Nietzsche analyzes in a philosophical way what makes one
good or evil. He goes onto explaining the spiritual aspect of one s self and how everything else
flows from it, from one s spirit from the inside. Also, he points out the challenges and struggle one
faces when choosing to follow one s own convictions instead of the ones imposed onto us. I ll go
onto analyzing his choice of words, their meaning in his arguments and how I relate his philosophy
to my own.
In the first line of the first paragraph, with the word beyond Nietzsche portrays that when our
actions are based on love there s no reasoning that could surpass it. It shows that love weights more

The people I ve met that have inspired me to live up to my own standards and beliefs and stand
strong in them are the ones that most of the time go with the flow. If they feel it in their spirit to
do it, they don t consider what would be said, they act on their love for themselves and as
Nietzsche argues, there is no right or wrong answer in that. Then, he mentions the wicked game.
These last few months I feel like that s the game I ve been playing, the one in which you choose to
risk it all, even your family s support and defy all odds just to be who you ve been created to be.
The wicked game is the one in which you decide to cross the line of the unspoken rules of
society and once you do, people think you are insane for daring to do what nobody else has
done, for daring to think and act outside of the box they ve made sure you never get out. Daily, it
is a risk I take, to be talk down and being seen as too different. Like Nietzsche himself says, a

Quote Quotes
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it. This quote is written by Margaret
Thatcher. This quote inspires me because it relates to me in real life. I ve tried so many times
on many different things, but i ve never gave up so I eventually won it or got it. For example
Ar, Ar is very hard for me because I don t like reading. Last year I got an F on my report card for
Ar each quarter. It was hard, I thought to myself i would never pass Ar. This year i was
determined to get an A in Ar. So I read as much as I can and took as much test as I can but the
first quarter i failed again. So I tried even harder, so when the next quarter s grades came out i got
an A. I kept trying and eventually I won. So that s why I chose this quote. I m pretty sure everyone
can relate themselves to this quote. This quote can mean many different things to many different
people, it can mean violence or just your goals that you wantto reach. I use this quote as my goals i

In order to win a battle or overcome something you need support. Support is a main thing in this

Analysis Of The Glass Ceiling In The 21st Century
In The Glass Ceiling in the 21st Century: Understanding Barriers to Gender Inequality, Manuela
Barreto, Michelle K. Ryan, and Michael T. Schmitt explore the presence of gender discrimination
in the workplace. They specifically mention specific cases of gender discrimination in the Silicon
Valley. This proves that the audience values equality, as well as justice for women. Through
discussions of genderstereotypes, personal examples of gender discrimination, and facts and
statistics about the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles, the authors convey the
idea that gender discrimination does exist and continues to challenge women who seek to
prosper in the workforce. Preconceived notions and stereotypes about women hinder women s
acquisition of higher roles within the workplace. The book provides statistics that support this
idea, citing, a survey of 705 women at the vice president level and above in Fortune 1000
corporations found that 72% agreed or strongly agreed that stereotypes about women s roles and
abilities are a barrier to women s advancement to the highest levels (Barreto, Ryan, and Schmitt
22). This statistic provides credibility to the author s claim, as the number of women who agree
with this idea of gender stereotypes is substantially high. Women are often not considered to have
the same qualities of leaders that men have. According to the authors, sex provides the strongest
basis of classifying people; it exceeds race, age, and occupation

The Meaning Of The Four Seasons
In this essay I will explain the definition of a concerto, what it is, where it was developed and
who made it popular. I will also discuss the most creative composer of the solo concerto who was
Antonio Vivaldi. Thirdly I will focus on the main traits Vivaldi developed in a concerto with
reference to one of his most enchanting works The Four Seasons.
Concerto
A concerto is a musical composition for a solo instrument or instruments accompanied by an
orchestra .The soloist will have the opportunity to show their potential during the cadenza part in a
concerto. A cadenza is an embellished solo section, usually placed at the end of the first movement
of a concerto. Concerto defines as a word both meaning competing and accommodating . Contrast,
is a popular aspect in a concerto during the Baroque ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structural thinking behind the Four Seasons was that each movement twelve in all (three
per season) would evoke a certain mood. Vivaldi delivered elegance and originality in his work.
His music mirrors graphically the action described; this literary link is called program
music.Vilvaldis four season concertos were based on an Italian sonnet, likely written by Vivaldi
where he depicts and illustrates the narratives through his compositions. For example, in Vivaldi s
second concerto summer he depicts a peaceful, calm mood at the beginning of the first movement.
The atmosphere is extraordinarily vivid, depicting the oppressive heat from the Mediterranean sun.
The plaintive signs of the violin, separated by silences which suggest the intake of breath is a
tiring exertion, it gives no hint to the explosive energy that lies ahead. (See example two). In the
concerto Winter he evokes a thunder storm, with the use of piercing high notes in the violin at a
rapid speed. For

English Bill Of Rights Essay
Not to be confused with the American Bill of Rights, the English Bill of Rights was written in
1689. What they really were was an act declaring the rights and liberties of the subject and settling
the succession of the crown. Like the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights is a basic and fundamental
document of the constitution law in England. The reason for the bill of rights was to ensure and
guarantee the safety of the human rights that the citizens were ought to have. The bill of rights
reduced the power the monarch had on the civilians, and gave the civilians more power towards the
monarchs.
The English Bill of Rights came after the defeat of King James II and the crowning of William III
and Mary as the new joint rulers of England. Some of these rights included the rights to bear arms,

The citizens have full control of who is appointed to any position regarding the government. And if
so it happens that the people don t like the way they are being governed, then by law, they can

The Bill of Rights hasn t only had a positive effect on England, but they also influenced other
countries to create Bill of Rights of their own. The Kingdom of Scotland also had a similar
document written in 1689, United States of America also has a similar concept of the Bill of Rights.
Its influence can also be seen in the United Nations Declaration of Human rights and the European
Convention on Human rights. All of these countries had a similar problem, too much power
belonging to one person without the system of checks and balances.
The Bill of rights were intended not only to ensure basic human rights to the Englishmen, but to
also limit the power that the monarch had on the people. The Englishmen had already learned a lot
from the previous kings, and they knew a constitutional document was needed to save the people
from an absolute

Although Nicole had signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their marriage, she still revived a

Despite spending time together, the problems still persisted, and Nicole continued to have 911

Anna Carstens Research Paper
If I had to make an Instagram bio for Anna Carstens, I would put the flowing things: Mother of 2
dogs, in love with Orlando Bloom, and #Hailstate. Those are the simple ways I can sum her up if
someone asked me, Who is Anna Carstens? In all reality though, Anna is just as complex as any
human. All though her stature makes her out to be only 19 and 5 foot and 4 inches, it seems as if
she has lived most lives. I did a profile on Anna, not because she is my bestfriend, but because I

Comparing The Aztecs And Inca
Two principal indigenous populations in Latin America were the Aztecs and the Incas. The Aztecs
and Inca were both fully sedentary indigenous groups with a large empire and society. Each empire
has played a large role in the development of Latin America with their rich history and cultures.
From Mexico to South America, the legacies and treasures of these indigenous populations still live
on today.
Aztec history begins with their settlement of Mexico. The Aztec rulers were a group of people
called Mexicas and they spoke the common language of the region Nahuatl. The Mexicas were a
warlike group of people who settled and developed the Aztec Empire throughout 1400 1500

More than 14,000 miles of roads were constructed to connect the empire across the Andean
mountains (Clark). Painted ceramics and gold and silver treasures were a part of their artistry. Like
the Aztecs, their religious beliefs consisted in worshipping many gods, including worshipping the
sun, and human sacrifice along with the belief in reincarnation (Clark). To this day, the ruins of
Inca cities and communities still stand and are a testament to the exceptional engineering and talent

Can the Bombing of Dresden Be Justified
Can the bombing of Dresden be justified?
Dresden was Germanys 7th largest city at the time of the war. Historically, Dresden had been
northern Germany s cultural centre a city filled with museums and historic buildings. The
Frauenkirche Cathedral was one of the world s famous buildings. Dresden was also an extremely
important industrial area, which was something that the allies really did not want, but before
February 1945 Dresden was a peaceful country and there were not any threats from the British yet.,
Many refugees had fled to Dresden from the east because of the Soviet Union s attack; therefore
making it harder to find the actual figure of people who died. At 10 p.m. on Tuesday 13 February

Otherwise we shall come into control of an utterly ruined land. by Winston Churchill, 28 march
1945.
Although there are other reasons that come through that make the bombing of Dresden seem like
an unnecessary part of the war effort. In the first place Britain did not even start the war. In 1919
Ital, England, France, and U.S came to an agreement that Germany had to pay for all the damage
they did in the First World War. When Hitler heard of this he started organising an army, air force
and started making allies, like Mussillon s Italy. Six months later Hitler breaks the treaty and starts
another war.
Germany withdrew from the Geneva disarmament conference, which meant they refused to
support a British proposal that air bombing be banned. Dresden was also a very important rail
centre for moving troops, concentration camp prisoners and war material but it would be no
good if the allies destroyed the buildings and factories, because if there will be, still human s; they
can rebuild it. The war factories of Dresden employed around 10,000 people, many of which lived
in the very centre of the city.
The Russians were asking for help from Britain and the u.s.a because Dresden was too close to
the Russian front line. The number of people that died shows clearly how the Nazi s failed to
provide air raid shelter. People

Essay On Antidepressants
People who experience depression can often find relief in taking antidepressants. An antidepressant
affects the way the brain passes neurotransmitters, which include, serotonin, dopamine, and
norepinephrine, to the different nerve cells in the brain. A study published in Current Biology
found that antidepressants change the way the braincells communicate with one another in as little
as a day. It s common, however, for it to take weeks before patients notice a difference in their
depression symptoms. Understanding the different ways that antidepressants affect the
neurotransmitters can help patients get the relief they need.

Additionally, people who experience nerve pain are also prescribed Cymbalta to alleviate their

The Abstract Principles Of Sexuality And Race
The abstract principles of sexuality and race have always been delicate ideas for society to
comprehend. When you Google the word sexuality , you do not come across a gender specified
definition that constricts males and females to desire only one another. It simply states that it is the
sexual habits and desires of a person. Any person, male, female, transgender, or otherwise, can be
sexual with whomever they desire. So why is the dichotomy of homosexualityversus heterosexuality
such a pervasive notion?
There are multiple myths and facts about sexual orientation. Case Western Reserve University,
located in Cleveland, Ohio, is one of the most LGBT friendly campuses in the country. On their
website they host an page about their gender friendly campus that answers any common questions
one might have about such issues. No one knows what causes sexual orientation. Many lesbian,
gay and bisexual people know that they are attracted to members of their own sex at an early age,
sometimes as young as 6 or 7 years old. Others learn much later in life, in their 30 s, 40 s or later
still. Some research indicates that sexual orientation is determined between birth and age 3, but no
one is sure what causes particular orientations.
As for race, considering and supporting the theory of color on individuals and collaborating the
ideas to our community, in my opinion, seems to be much more of a delicate matter than sexuality.
The concept of race is a modern concept. In the

The Importance Of Revenge In William Shakespeare s Hamlet
Who ever thought acting out revenge would be so difficult. In the story, Hamlet, we have a young
man who is seeking revenge for the death of his father. The person responsible his death was
Hamlet s uncle, Claudius. Hamlet contemplates killing Claudius many times throughout the play.
There is much speculation as to why Hamlethesitated, and why he didn t just killClaudius as
quickly as possible. Hamlet wants to ensure he did it right and that it was a righteous killing.
Hamlet had every reason to be angry with Claudius, for he murdered his father. Hamlet,
throughout almost the entire play, was completely dedicated to killing Claudius. But, Hamlet
need proof to accomplish his task. Deep down, Hamlet is a good man. This does not mean that
he was perfect, nor does it mean that he was incredibly righteous in every aspect. But, he was a
good man because he always examined what it was he was doing, or what he was planning. This
explains why Hamlet contemplated killing Claudius. Hamlet is unsure if he should kill his uncle;
would he be a thought of a coward. Should he partake in the death of his uncle? He examined these
things to ensure that he went about vengeance in the most righteous manner possible for him. It
was not merely a murder for revenge, but a murder for the kingdom. It was not for Hamlet alone,
but for the society that had been harmed by the existence and the actions of Claudius. Hamlet
understood this, and needed all his time of investigation to clearly establish

The Atomic Bombings Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki
It has been seventy years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the end of
the Second World War in the Pacific Theatre. However, the unconditional surrender that was
favored by the Allies was only accepted by Japan after the Soviet Union entry into the Greater
East Asia War and the nuclear devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is a common myth in
the Western world that the nuclear bombs Little Boy and Fat Man caused Japan to surrender and
in turn saved the lives of thousands of American soldiers that were about to embark upon
Operation Downfall, the invasion of Japan. However, decades after the war the idea that the
nuclear bombing of Japan was a military necessity is not taken at face value as it once was. Any
historian who would explore the situation in the Pacific theater will find that most of the actions
taken by the warring nations during the end were in reality very political in nature. This means that
the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasakihave a political necessity instead of a military one.
This political necessity was which nation would win the surrender of the Japanese Empire. The
United States of America and the Soviet Unionwere racing each other for the surrender of Japan for
different reasons. The Soviets wanted to make sure that their prize promised to them at the Yalta
Conference would be upheld. On the other hand the Americans wanted to win Japan s surrender
before the Soviets could launch an invasion on Japanese home

Is Data A Person
Is Data a Person? According to Daniel Dennett, there are six factors a being must meet to be
considered a person, regardless if they are human or not. The six factors are: rationality,
conscious mental state and intentionality, verbal communication, self consciousness, subject of a
special stance or attitude, and reciprocating this person regarding stance. Within the single
episode, The Measure Of A Man, Data proved to be able to meet all these requirements, thus
making him a person. The first factor, rationality, Data shows throughout the episode. He
rationalizes during the poker game, he rationalizes when he decides to resign, even when he

Harrison Bergeron, by Kurt Vonnegut Essay
Harrison Bergeron is a story written by Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut s story is a warning to the world
about the quest of equality, which is spreading all round in many nations with America on the lead.
The story shows the reader how the equality issue can have negative impacts on people s
individuality, and the society. The story revolves around the protagonist, Harrison Bergeronwho is
an archetypical symbol that represents defiance, and individuality. He is used to represent the

Conversely, Hazel s husband is handicapped with forty seven pounds of birdshot strapped to his

demonstrate a dysfunctional Utopia in the society. In his story, Vonnegut uses irony to depict how
easily a government can control its citizens, by assaulting their senses and individuality. Harrison
Bergeron is a valuable story that has underlying themes, which are very relevant in our current
society. The theme of equality can be seen throughout the book, and it is the principle that is
enshrined in America s constitution now, whereby they claim that all men are equal. Kurt Vonnegut
demonstrates the issue of equality in a Utopian society. Vonnegut in his story, cautions Americans
on the dangers of creating a truly equalitarian society, whereby citizens go to an extent of
sacrificing their freedom, and individuality to the state, to create a place where all people are
equal. Vonnegut creates a society whereby, all people are made equal. The beautiful are forced to

Population Of Homelessness
Something does not make sense about an issue in Central Florida s area, or at least that is how
people may perceive homelessness. Last semester, our chapter in Phi Theta Kappa conducted the
Honors in Action and chose theme number three, rights and responsibilities, as our research guide.
I believe that students should be aware of what affects their surroundings and become a critical
thinker. To think beyond our own experiences is what helps us develop as a community. Theme
three encouraged us to ask ourselves a few questions such as what are the responsibilities of
students at our college? We found out that there was a population of homeless students at Valencia
College of about three hundred people. Moreover, we found out that a considerable

CNC Vertical End Milling Machining is a widely accepted material removal process used to
manufacture components with complicated shapes and profiles. During the End milling process,
the material is removed by the end mill cutter. The quality of the surface plays a very important
role in the performance of milling as a good quality milled surface significantly improves fatigue
strength, corrosion resistance, or creep life. The surface generated during milling is affected by
different factors such as vibration, spindle run out, temperature, tool geometry, feed, cross feed,
tool path and other parameters. During finish milling, the depth of cut is small. The most important
interactions, that effect surface roughness of machined surfaces, are between the cutting feed and
depth of cut, and between cutting feed and spindle speed. Surface Roughness is affected
negatively if the applied force is increased. Surface roughness at the same feed rate becomes
higher when a small nose radius is used. Technological parameter range plays a very important role
on surface roughness. There is a need of a tool that should allow the evaluation of the surface
roughness before the machining of the part and which, at the same time, can easily be used in the
production floor environment contributing to the minimization of

Katmai Volcano
A volcano is a weak spot in the crust where molten material, or magma, comes to the surface. In a
volcano there is a magma chamber, pipe, vent, lava flow, and craters. A magma chamber is the
pocket where magma collects under or below a volcano. The pipe of a volcano is the long tube in
the ground that connects the Earth s surface to the magmachamber. A vent in a volcanois where the
molten rock and gas from the volcano leave through an opening. The lavaflow is a certain area that
is covered by lava that is coming out of the vent. Lastly, a crater is a bowl shaped area that is
formed at the top of the volcano. The eruption of 1912 or Mount Katmai was the biggest eruption of

1912. The eruption of 1912 was the biggest eruption of the 20th century. There were aftermath
disasters. There was noise pollution, the sound of the blast was heard in Juneau, Alaska 750 miles

The Importance Of Gross Motor Development
Motor skills involve movement of muscle in the body (John, 2009). These are larger
movements such as crawling, running, and jumping (John, 2009). Most of the gross motor
development occurs during childhood (John, 2009). Gross motor skills have two principals that
determent how a child will regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016).
Head to toe development this means the upper parts of the body will develop before the lower
parts of the body (John, 2009). Children develop these skills throughout play (John, 2009). A
tree year old Toddler can be very active therefore participating in activity that require movement,
coordination, and balance can be beneficial to help a toddler to develop their motor skills (Jan,
Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child can throw a ball but catching it is more difficult. They
start walking with good posture similar to an adult; they can also walk backwards (Jan, Beth
Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old can run which required strength and balance, during running they
should be able to rotate their trunk and swing their arms (John, 2009). By the age of 3 a child
walks up and down stairs alternating their feet without support which is possible because their
balance has increase (John, 2009). A 3 year old child also learns to jump from a step and learn to
jump forward (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). They start hopping at the age of 3
ВЅ and also can stand on one foot (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Skipping
requires sequencing and rhythm which makes it more difficult this include step and hop patterns.
Fine Motor Fine motor skills are the movements made with the small muscle of the hand (Jan,
Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child gets better in their fine motor skill (Jan, Beth Melissa,
2012). They are able to move their fingers independently and have better spatial awareness;
therefore, these children can engage in more complex tasks such as using a scissor, the first
cutting skills start at the age of 3 (John, 2009). Children of this age should be able to unbutton a
shirt or eat with a fork without assistance (John, 2009). They can also complete and insert puzzle
pieces, picking up small objects with the thumb and

Human Rights For The Disabled
Background
The topic of human rights for the disabled came after centuries of discrimination and mistreatment
by people who thought nothing of them. During the 1800s, people with disabilities were used in
circuses or in sideshows for entertainment or were put in an asylum for their whole life. They were
thought to be abnormal and pitiful. The Disability Rights Movement began in the United States
after World War One, because disabled veterans demanded care from the government. The problem
has developed into a global effort to protect and aid these people, along with others struggling with
their human rights. Contributions by the UN have sparked initiatives, conventions and resolutions
to be set in place. Undeveloped regions are most affected by lack of disabled rights, because of an
absence of a strong government with strong laws and rights. The top ten worst countries for human
rights are Nigeria, Yemen, Myanmar, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, The Democratic
Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Syria. These areas also suffer from so many other issues, which
makes them a target for human rights issues. War, famine, genetics, diseases, complications during
pregnancy, and disasters cause disabilities.People with disabilities live with less legal protection,
higher rates of poverty, lower educational achievements, poorer health outcomes and less political
and cultural participation. Because of the social barriers that are put up, people with disabilities
were, and still are,

Summary Of The Centaur
Within May Swenson s The Centaur, she talks about a little girl that uses her enormous mind to
imagine herself transforming into a horse. The girl is in a whole new world of her imagination as
she rides through the hills of her backyard. Swenson allows readers to take part in the
transformation from human to horse that the adolescent girldescribed undergoes, thus emphasizing
the importance of childhoodand imagination on the woman identity and how strong and intelligent
they could be.
In the poem, May uses the Greek mythological creature, the Centaur, as a symbol of the girl
pretending to ride the horse and then became the horse himself. A centaur is a half man half
horse creature. Centaurs are strong creatures they stand for being strong, brave, and they have a
hard identity which reflects the girl s identity of having all these characteristics. Swenson makes
it seem as though the girl herself is a Centaur. In words and phrases like: my hair flopped to the
side like the mane of a horse (line 29 to 30), I shied and skittered and reared (line 33), I was the
horse and the rider (line 38), spanked my own behind (line 40 ), and my two hoofs beat a gallop
along the bank (line 41 to 42 ) . All these symbolize that the girl is imagining to be a horse and a
human at the same time like a centaur. At the end when her mother said: why is your mouth all
green ? (line 71 ) it shows how the girl has a very high level of imagination that while she was
imagining to be

Cyrus ensured this by correcting mistakes of past leaders and respecting the existing religions,
values and cultures of the places he conquered and this reduced the chance of revolt enabling
him to better establish the empire and ensure his leadership was effective. In a verse account of
the conquest of Babylon it is said that Nabonidus, the leader before Cyrus, was disrespectful and
prevented the celebration of religious festivals and the people of Babylon were hostile towards
him. When Cyrus came into power he declared peace, appeased the gods once more and acted
righteously, fixing all the wrongs on Nabonidus and returning a joyful heart to the people.
During his rule he also returned displaced Jews to their land and rebuilt their temples, once again
righting the wrongs of a past leader. By doing these things Cyrus was able to demonstrate his
effective leadership by preventing revolts of which he has none recorded compared to the at least
five of Darius, which enabled him to focus more on expansion. The lasting impacts of Cyrus the
Great within and beyond the empire exemplify his effective style of leadership. It is said that one
of the most important things for the prosperity of an empire is its governing system and the system
created by Cyrus was used and refined

Cost is a huge problem when it comes to kids participating in youth sports. According to athlete
intelligence parents in the United States spend an average of $671 per year to cover different
costs for sports. These costs may include the participation fee, uniforms, lessons, or coaching
from a private club. As the kids get older they start participating in traveling leagues which can
also be very costly. Overtime all of those things add up and can become very costly for families
This is just in youth sports only, and the cost has increased and has been on the rise.
Another problem would be under trained coaches or coaches that are not properly taught how to
coach young children in youth sports. Farrey (2013) Only 1 in 5 coaches of youth teams of
children under age 14 say they have been trained in effective motivational technique, and just 1 in
3 in skills and tactics in the primary sport they coach . Most of the coaches in youth sports today
are fathers that have a kid in the sport, so that might be why they are coaching in the first place.
Also they haven t been properly trained in the first place. According to NRPA there are roughly 3.5
million coaches in youth sports and the majority of them are volunteer coaches that lack the
training to coach these kids. They are unable to teach the correct fundamentals and developmental
skills to these kids, while at the same time have them enjoy the

Lead Exposure Essay
Lead is a naturally occurring element we find in the earth crust, but even with its natural status, it
s highly dangerous to humans when exposed improperly. The reason I put lead as number one on
my list is because of its use in tons of mainstream products all throughout the world. Sure,
chlordane in pesticides is also a very harmful substance, but it s not used in as many common
products that led is. According to an article written by Dr. Edward Group, founder of the Global

Even though Chloroform is a natural occurring element, most chloroform is manmade.
Chloroform can be found in household cleaning products, swimming pools, and even in small

any type of chlorine based substance ( How to Make Chloroform... ). Chloroform is ok if only
exposed to small amounts, but if over exposed to it the chemical can be extremely dangerous.
Some of the main ways people are exposed to chloroform is: contaminated water, household
cleaning products, and even swimming in a pool. The effects of chloroform vary based on how
it was exposed, how long it was exposed for, and individual health. Directly after being exposed
to chloroform through the air, some common side effects are: dizziness, feeling tired, and having
headaches. If expose for too long some much more severe impacts occur such as: cancer, kidney
failure, liver failure, and infections in blood flow ( Chloroform ). Chloroform isn t the most

there is very little we know about what it does to animals. We do know, just like humans, animals

People Conform To The Environment In Malcolm Gladwell s...
The general argument made by author Malcolm Gladwell in his work, Power of Context, is that
people conform to their environment. More specifically, Gladwell argues that environment is what
controls how and why a person reacts to a certain situation. He writes, The Broken Windows
Theory. In this passage, Gladwell is suggesting that if ones community is poor then people will
tend to make poor decisions. In conclusion, Gladwell s belief is that little tipping points will slowly
and effectively change the environment they live in.
I believe, The Broken Windows theory plays an enormous role in the environment around oneself.
Due to the fact that the train station choose to clean every single one of the carts that came through
and placing security guards at stations to not allow people to sneak into the trains. By doing these
things, this did not manipulate the on goers that saw this but it allowed everyone to see how to be a
role model. These little things that the Gunn and William Bratton choose to do set the community
up for excellence rather than failure.
Gladwell states that if Goetz would have met up with the four young black men in a different place
the shooting most likely would not have taken place. Because the train station was treated like trash
Goetz first off had the feeling beforehand to carry a gun onto the train. By paying attention to such
little details such as the graffiti it could change the mindset of many of the hoodlums around.
Malcom says that Gunn drew up a new management structure and a precise set of goals and
timetables aimed at cleaning the systems line by line, train by train. He started with the number
seven train that connects Queens to midtown Manhattan, and began experimenting with new
techniques to clean off the paint. He also states that Gunn is going to be religious about cleaning
every train.
Gladwell believes that human behavior is more fully formed due to the community around. You
can try to adapt to a different cultures but you are just going to fall right into what the people are
doing around you. If the people around you are committing crimes, then you are tempted to do the
exact same thing. Gladwell states, It says that crime is

question or hypothesis can be answered through secondary research, i.e., a literature review or

A Single Person, Group, Event Or Community
Case studies are in depth investigations of a single person, group, event or community.
Typically, data are gathered from a variety of sources and by using several different methods
(e.g. observation interviews). The research may also continue for an extended period of time, so
processes and developments can be studied as they happen. The case study started with the
clinical studies where the medical history was recorded over a period of time and similar cases
were handled with same procedure and identical symptoms were considered to group the diseases
in one genera. In case study the hierarchy of events is recorded which have happened in the past
leading to the current events and forecasting their effects in the future. The data for the case study
can be collected from various sources which are easily accessible on the internet such as annual
reports of the company, articles and blogs of the employees and the website content. For the
detailed insight data, interview can be used as an effective tool .the facts can be gathered from the
individual, friends, family, employer and other people surrounding the individual on which the case
is studied.

audience learns the characteristics of the hero. Later, a problem or a central dramatic question
disrupts the easy going nature of the ordinary world. Next is the hero s call to adventure. This is
when a challenge is presented to the heroand disrupts the usual comfort of the ordinary world. The
call to action forces the hero to choose between two conflicting calls. Sometimes, the hero needs
multiple calls before realizing his only means of escape is the Special World. Sometimes the hero
refuses the call to action and the adventure. This is when the hero backs out of the challenge due to
insecurity, fear, or danger. This stage helps to let the audience know the risks of taking the
adventure. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is when the hero finally commits to the journey. The hero is finally ready to cross the
gateway into the Special World. The hero is faced with a problem and must continue into the
Special World where there is no turning back. Internal problems like mental problems with the
hero themselves, or external forces like a kidnapping or a war may also cause the hero to
triumph forward in his journey. After crossing the threshold, the hero is tested with enemies and
learning the rules of the Special World. Here, the hero finds out who can be trusted and finds
allies along the way. To prepare himself for greater challenges, the hero tests his skills and
powers, and receives more training from his mentor. In approach to the cave, the hero gets ready
to face his biggest challenge. This leads to the central ordeal of the story. Next is the ordeal. This
is the hero s biggest challenge, where the hero faces death. The hero may directly die, or it could
be the death of an ally or a mentor. Perhaps even the hero causes a death. Only through this death
can the hero be reborn which grants the hero greater powers or

The Characterization of Medea in Euripides and Ovid
The Medea by Euripides, Heroides XII: Medea to Jason by Ovid
Both Fifth century B.C. playwright Euripides and Roman poet and dramatist Ovid tell the story of
Jason ditching Medea for another woman; however, they do not always share a perspective on the
female matron s traits, behavior, and purpose. Euripides portrays a woman who reacts to injustice
by beginning a crusade to avenge all who harmed her which she is prepared to see through even if
it means resorting to the most contemptible methods. Ovid, on the other hand, tells of a much less
extreme figure whose humble goal is only to persuade Jason to return. Despite these differences,
both Medeas create trouble by acting with emotions instead of with reason, and as a result, put ...

More importantly, she seems to be able to identify the flaws that lead her astray. The first mistake
Medea traces her current predicament back to is her vulnerability to be manipulated when
thinking with her emotions instead of her better sense. On first falling in love with Jason, she
recalls I was ensnared, girl that I was, by your/words (86), words tapping into her emotions. This
of course inspired the all the more magnanimous goof of replacing her family with her husband
who as the queen describes alone...took the place of/ all! (164 165). For the Queen of Colchis,
bad decisions have been her major shortcoming, a fact that she both realizes and takes
responsibility for. Thus acknowledgment is the first step towards her redemption. Evidence for
this can be seen through her pathological appeals to Jason which illustrate how the Queen has
used her emotional mind set as a strength instead of a weakness. Medea betrayed [her] sire (109),
lost [her] throne (163), and killed her own brother for Jason. She reminds him that, in addition to
all the sacrifices she made for him, her devotion has not faltered when she says, At your bidding I
have withdraw from/ your palace...and / what follows me evermore my love for you (140 143).
After winning Jason s sympathy, the humble woman concludes by my favours to you...restore me

Summary Of The Production Slammed
On the 31st of July, the Brisbane Bayside State College Drama students viewed the production
Slammed by crosstown artists at the Brisbane Powerhouse. The production was performed by the
Brisbane based production company, Crosstown Artists. Crosstown Artists strive to produce and
promote a range of quality artistic works with fiscal sustainability. From graffiti to hip hop to
burlesque to poetry, Crosstown Artists passionately provide extraordinary opportunities for
performers through their outstanding productions. Slammed is directed by John Peek and focuses
on real life issues that teenagers face daily. The extended response will examine and analyse the
dramatic elements and conventions used throughout this thought provoking and engaging
performance.
Set in a fictitious high school, Slammed follows the story of Jake Ryan, a 15 year who is having a
tough time after being neglected by his father and abandoned by his mother. However, as Jake
battles his way through Year 10 we learn that he is not the only one getting slammed. The specific
themes from the production captivated the audience s attention through real themes that teens have
to deal with on a daily basis. The production is supported by the One Punch ... Show more content

The four main dramatic elements that were clearly highlighted throughout the performance were
tension, role, mood and symbol. An example of heightened tension would be when Jake Ryan had
just had a fight with his father, and when his father was asleep Jake stood beside his bed and
whispered I hate you . This created tension because earlier on in the play Jake told Emily that if you
were to tell someone you hate them you had to say it not yell it because otherwise it had no
meaning. However this example was not the only heightened tension scene from the production.
The scenes that Jake shares with his father gives the teens in the audience who have experienced
divorce something to relate

Home Ownership And The Foreclosure Crisis
Many families lost their homes to foreclosure during the recent economic downturn in the US
economy. These former homeowners became renters as the national home ownership rate dropped.
Many families felt that home ownership would remain out of their reach due to previous
foreclosure history. In addition, losing your home and transitioning to rentingis tough on your
psyche. However, as rental rates continue to increase and the economy recovers these same
families now see possibilities of home ownership again. The housing market has characterized the
buyers as Boomerang Buyers .Approximately 5 million people lost their homes to foreclosure or
short sale and become potential boomerang buyers. Quietly, by buying homes again, these buyers...

For example, the landlord and tenant may agree that $1,500 in monthly rent is appropriate, and
$200.00 per month in additional rent credits will go towards an eventual down payment for the
home. In this example, the tenant will pay a total of $1,700 per month. The option fee and rent
credits are almost always non refundable, and will go towards the down payment at the end of the
term.
There are many benefits to the Rent to Own option, including living in and taking care of the home
prior to purchase. While paying each month toward the lease purchase, the buyer can continue to
improve credit history and begin to build equity in the home. The Rent to Own option is a great way
to get into a specific neighborhood with the opportunity to purchase the home without the penalty
of a large down payment or previous bad credit history. If the buyer has recently regained
employment this option allows further building of employment history. While there
aredisadvantages to every option, specific, and clear communication can resolve many issues up
front. The major consideration in the Rent to Own option is the loss of rent credits and the option
fee toward the purchase if the tenant determines that the home is not what they wanted. In addition,
if the market changes and the fixed price of the home is higher than the market demand the tenant
is contractually obligated to the agreed upon price. So as a

Examples Of Sympathy In Frankenstein s Monster

Sympathy or Hatred Towards Frankenstein s Monster? Victor Frankenstein had not only created a
monster but he had also created this being that is full of knowledge seeking and understanding.
Right from the beginning of the story, it is misunderstood by the monster s character. Frankenstein
judges his creations outer shell and in doing so he neglects his creation making the monster feel
vulnerable and naked to society. It is said that No one is born hating another person for their skin,
or his background, or his religion. (Nelson Mandela, October 1, 1999). This quote is important
because we must understand that the monster s hatred only comes from his experiences with the
lack of connections people want to make with him. His bitterness and anger are because he has ...

Diversity means is a range of different things and adversity means difficulties or misfortunes.
Although the two have different meanings I feel that they play a vital role in a person or a
monster s life. The world is full of diversity and in order to preserve, overcome, and meet our
goals, we have to be a challenge and depending on how we go about on being taken out of our
comfort zone determines whether you float or sink in life. The monster is a good example of
overcoming diversity. Instead of lashing out and destroyin everything around him he uses his
intelligence to help him survive. He finds himself a shelter, food, helps the cottagers with
chores, learns how to speak and read from observing the villagers and also is also learns to
become sneaky like framing Justine for the murder of Victor s younger brother and then later
framing Victor for the murder of his friend. Although it seems that everything and everyone is
against him, the monster finds ways to persevere and go on in life by the skills he acquires. All

The Criminalization Of Hiv Transmission
The criminalization of HIV transmission has sparked many debates on how the law and health
policy are related and how they both have a profound impact on health. HIV criminalization was a
policy meant to incapacitate and rehabilitate those transmitting the disease to others while the
retribution of the act would deter others from engaging in transmission . However, the harsh
realities of criminalization have caused many to reconsider its original purpose. The criminalization
of HIVtransmission in Canada has negative implications on health. This paper will argue that by
criminalizing HIV transmission there is a greater chance of individuals not getting tested, that
living with HIV can be extremely difficult within the criminal justicesystem, and that
criminalization does not address broader, structural issues that cause HIV transmission.
The history of HIV criminalization in Canada is rooted in the 1998 case of the Supreme Court
of Canada (R. v. Cuerrier), where the court found that an individual could be convicted of sexual
assault if they do not disclose their HIV status to their sexual partner . Since then, over 70 people
in Canada have been criminally charged for not disclosing their HIV status to their sexual partner
. In 2012, the criminalization of HIV transmission reached a new level of overreach by finding
that an individual could be convicted for sexual assault in a situation where there is a realistic
possibility of HIV transmission. Some have called into

Buying Feminine Hygiene Products For People Magazine s...
ADVERTISER AND MEDIUM The advertiser for this product is Energizer, who is a
manufacturer. This advertisement was shown in People magazine s July 2015 edition.
MARKET SITUATION Carefree is a lesser known and lesser used brand in comparison to its
competitors, so its important for their ads to really resonate with their target market.
Competition in this industry is mainly between Tampax, Always, and Playtex, which almost
leaves Carefree out of the running. Carefree products are sold in Target, Walmart, and
drugstores like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid. Another thing to consider with this industry are
the consumer attitudes towards these products. A lot of women tend to be embarrassed when
buying feminine hygiene products because of the social stigma around periods, but the fact is
that they still have to buy them. So, when the consumers go to the store to purchase these type
of products they ll usually purchase the same product every time because they know it works,
they know where it is in the store, and they know the price, which makes the whole process go
quickly. TARGET MARKET CUSTOMER PROFILE This print ad was published in People
magazine. 70% of people s readers are women, the majority of them falling into the 18 44 age
range, with median age of 38. Most of the women readers are employed, with college degrees.
Another percentage of readers are women with one or more children in their household (42%).

Chief Justice Earl Warren Essay
Chief Justice Earl Warren
Earl Warren was born March 19, 1891 in Los Angeles, California. Earl s father was a Norwegian
immigrant, which left him dealing with prejudice and equal rights at a very young age (Grace, 1).
This lead to early indications that law would be Earl s profession. Even before entering High
School, he listened to criminal cases at the Kern County courthouse. Attending the University of
California at Berkeley, Warrenworked his way through college. He majored in political science for
three years before entering the law school at UC. He received his B.L. degree in 1912 and his J.D.
degree in 1914. On May 14, 1915, he was admitted to the California bar. After graduation Warren

The Browns, an African American Family living in Topeka, Kansas, along with the NAACP

with similar cases were grouped together and presented in front of the Supreme Court (Cray 1 2).
On May 17, 1954, Chief Justice Warren read the decision of the unanimous Court: quot;We come
then to the question presented: Does segregation of children in public schools solely on the basis
of race, even though the physical facilities and other quot;tangible quot; factors may be equal,
deprive the children of the minority group of equal educational opportunities? We believe that it
does...We conclude that in the field of public education the doctrine of separate but equal has no
place. Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal. Therefore, we hold that the plaintiffs
and others similarly situated for whom the actions have been brought are, by reason of the
segregation complained of, deprived of the equal protection of the laws guaranteed by the
Fourteenth Amendment (Schwartz, 198). The Supreme Court struck down the quot;separate but
equal quot; doctrine of Plessy for public education, ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, and required the
desegregation of schools across America (Cray, 1 2) .
Besides his work in the courtroom, Warren headed the commission that investigated the
assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He retired in 1969 and died on July 9, 1974,

The Risks Caused By Foreign Currency Derivatives On The...
NestlГ© S.A. is a Swiss company and owns a prestigious position being the world s leading
nutrition, health and wellness group (NestlГ©, 2016). According to its annual report (2015), this
company is exposed to many risks caused by movements in foreign currency exchange rates,
interest rate and market prices. The foreign exchange risk comes from transactions and
translations of foreign operations in Swiss Francs (CHF). The interest rate risk faces the
borrowings at fixed and variable rates. The market price risk comes from commodity price and
equity price. The former risk arises from world commodity market for the supplies of coffee, cocoa
beans, sugar and others. The later risk arises from the fluctuations of the prices of investments held.
(Nestle annual reports, 2015). Thus, financial derivatives instruments are used by this multinational
corporation in order to hedge these risks.
Moreover, because of the huge worldwide extension of the corporation, which operates in 194
countries, the use of foreign currency derivatives to minimize the earnings volatility would be the
subject of later analysis. The report will focus on how NestlГ© uses futures and option contracts to
hedge its exposure to currency risk, centering our attention in NestlГ© Home Currency, the Swiss
Franc in relation to the US Dollar (USD/CHF). It will be examined an example of its hedging
strategy and the information provided by a contact in the firm.

Enlightment for Fredrick the Great of Prussia and Joseph...
Frederick the Great of Prussia and Joseph II of Austria adopted the newfound ideas of the
Enlightenment to different extents with Frederick the Great advancing the ideas by
implementing religious toleration, freedom of speech and press, and setting a single code of
laws for all of his subjects and not advancing them by not abolishing serfdom for fear of upsetting
the Junkers , or Prussian nobility; Joseph II advanced the ideas of the Enlightenment eagerly by
completely abolishing serfdom paying no heed to what it could cause socially and politically and
he didn t advance these ideas in the end because his many reforms caused alienation of the church
and nobility and radical changes in social hierarchy.

Most of these reforms though were to please the querulous nobility and prevent them from trying
to interfere with the government and upset social balance. Frederick the Great set limitations
whilst accepting Enlightenment ideas when it interfered with the good of his subjects, economy
and his beloved military. All of these three topics depended on the Prussian nobility, or the
Junkers who owned large amounts of land had many serfs to farm it. Many of these Junkers also
held important military ranks in the army. Frederick the Great could have chosen to abolish
serfdom but did not for this would greatly anger the Junkers, the backbone of the Prussian state
and military. It was said that Prussia was not a country with an army: it was an army with a
country. In Frederick s military, he did not abolish torture to help install discipline and honesty in
his soldiers. Keeping this helped his army become the fourth strongest army in Europe.
Joseph II of Austria strictly believed that reason was the best and only path to take and so accepted
nearly all of the new Enlightenment ideas on his traditionally run empire causing major issues. One

Corporations across the globe consider the ability to deliver PowerPoint presentations in the

features to assist the user in developing quick and easy presentations, such as choosing to use

The text in the slides were minimal in nature and to the point, but gave me just enough reference
material to ad lib on the process of completing the evaluations. Having predesigned templates to
choose from made developing the PowerPoint an easier and quicker process.
Another feature offered in PowerPoint is the ability to add notes to a slide. Notes can be added
to the slide so the presenter can elaborate to the audience any additional information that goes
with the slide. However, the notes do not fit on the slides (Bethel University, 2017). Slides only
allow minimal information to fit on each one or they can become too busy and distracting to the
audience. Therefore, the additional notes can contain the details that are not on the slide. Notes
can be viewed two ways. They can be viewed in the Note pane in normal view, or the Notes Page
view (Bethel University, 2017). The Note pane works best if the user has only a few notes to
type. These notes will not be visible to the audience, but merely a reference for the presenter.
Unfortunately, prior to my employee evaluation class, I was not aware of the Note pane or Notes
Page. During my class I worked from notes that I had hand written. I have taught the class on
three occasions only to discover during or after each one that I would realize something I needed
to address during the presentation. Therefore, I would just jot down a quick, sloppy hand written
note. Had I been aware of this feature in PowerPoint, I could have

The Characteristics And Differences Between Radio And Radio
1.The skills one needs to be a radio listener, are more sophisticated then the skills one would use to
understand and interpret a television program. When listening to the radio, one has to be an active
listener. It requires you to pay more attention as the information is being processed solely through
auditory stimulation. This is unlike watching televisionwhich provides both auditory and visual
stimulation. Personally, when listening to Orson Welles War of the Worlds from October 30th
1938, I found myself more easily distracted comparing to when watching a television program or
newsstory. It is much easier to pay attention to the later. Moreover, listening to the radio requires
a person to use their own imagination more vividly. The audience has to take in what is being
described and create their own personal picture of the event. Television seems to give us a more
realistic understanding of what it is news anchor is talking about as the consumers can be shown
pictures or film footage of the event being discussed. This add to the audience s view of the
incident in its entirety. On the radio, the news broadcasters have to be more descriptive when
describing the currents events as their descriptions are the sole foundation that the listener s
imagination will be based on. It is only through their description that the listener will get an
understanding of whatever is being discussed. The radio host must therefore put in more detail than
a television host. As expected, a

Analysis Of The 25 Minute Magic Bullet
The 25 minute Magic Bullet infomercial is full of persuasion in many aspects. Throughout my
paper I will highlight how the commercial uses Ranks Model of Persuasion, starting with the
intensify and downplay strategies that I observed from watching the Magic Bullet Commercial.
The strategies and tactics that the persuaders used worked well, by the end of the commercial I
wanted the product they advertised. Throughout my paper I will go more in depth to Rank s Model
of persuasionby analyzing, explaining, and providing examples from the Magic Bullet infomercial.
There are two main strategies of Rank s model, intensify and downplay.
Rank s intensify model strategy is where the persuader intensifies the positive aspects of their
campaign or they focus on the negative aspects of a competitor s product or campaign. Included in
the intensify portion of Rank s model there are 3 tactics, repetition, association, and composition.
These are 3 simple tactics that are used frequently in persuasive material. Repetition includes
recurring themes, such as jingles and slogans. Association is where the persuasive material links
positive or negative ideas to the advice they are giving to consumers. Composition is the graphic,
layout, and design of the persuasive material. In the Magic bullet commercial all three of these
aspects of the intensify model were present.(Larson, 2013) Throughout the Magic Bullet
commercial the Magic Bullet logo appears on the screen frequently. This is the

  • 2. Jane Austen s Novel And True Classic Sense And Sensibility There are many authors whose works are considered to be classics; perhaps the most influential is Jane Austen. Jane Austen wrote six novels, that in today s world, we call classics. Her first novel and true classic Sense and Sensibility, was published in 1811 at a time when the world was just starting to write full length novels. Though Jane Austenonly lived to be forty one, she contributed much too modern literature; such as being one of the first major authors to make use of the three volume novel, and to use chapters within the volumes (Sweeton). One of the many reasons as to why Jane Austen s novels are considered classics is due to the fact that she wrote about real social and financial issues of the day; however, financial and social issues are timeless, therefore they are still relevant in today s world. As one follows along with the Dashwood sisters in Sense and Sensibility, we see how the title of the story is very fitting; by providing one sister with sense and the other with sensibility, the story has two different dynamics that create a timeless classic. Born in 1775, Jane Austen grew up in a time when the dynamics of the world were constantly changing. Jane Austen was born in Steventon a village of Hampshire England, to a large family that consisted of seven other children (Jane Austen). Having an interest in writing since a young age, one of her first works of writing was a novella titled Lady Susan, a story written in epistle form (which means as a ... • 3. Tesla Motors, Inc. Essay Tesla Motors, Inc. was founded in 2003 and joined the automobile industry out of Silicon Valley. The company is located in 30 different countries with 18 stores worldwide (Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla Motors entered the automobile industry from a different approach in manufacturing automobiles. The company began designing, manufacturing, and marketing battery electric vehicles (BEVs) making Tesla the only manufacturer to sell a zero emission sports car, the Tesla Roadster (Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla manufactured luxury electric vehicles such as Model S, Model X, and the soon to be released Model 3 (Eisler, 2016, p. 35). With different automobilemanufactures entering the BEV market, Tesla Motors, Inc. must conduct a SWOT analysis of the company. SWOT stands for the company s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (Abraham, 2012, sect. 5.2). Strengths and weaknesses analyze the internal aspects of the company, whereas opportunities and threats analyze the external aspects. The SWOT assesses the strengths of Tesla Motors derived from technological advancements, global branding, and market adoption considering the BEV industry is relatively young compared to the engine powered industry (Mangram, 2012, p. 289). Their strengths are the internal aspect of the company that makes them competitive against other companies in the same industry. Tesla Motors, Inc. was the first company to manufacture a zero emission sports car comparable to the Porsche and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Friedrich Nietzsche s Beyond Good And Evil Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche In Beyond Good and Evil, Friedrich Nietzsche analyzes in a philosophical way what makes one good or evil. He goes onto explaining the spiritual aspect of one s self and how everything else flows from it, from one s spirit from the inside. Also, he points out the challenges and struggle one faces when choosing to follow one s own convictions instead of the ones imposed onto us. I ll go onto analyzing his choice of words, their meaning in his arguments and how I relate his philosophy to my own. In the first line of the first paragraph, with the word beyond Nietzsche portrays that when our actions are based on love there s no reasoning that could surpass it. It shows that love weights more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The people I ve met that have inspired me to live up to my own standards and beliefs and stand strong in them are the ones that most of the time go with the flow. If they feel it in their spirit to do it, they don t consider what would be said, they act on their love for themselves and as Nietzsche argues, there is no right or wrong answer in that. Then, he mentions the wicked game. These last few months I feel like that s the game I ve been playing, the one in which you choose to risk it all, even your family s support and defy all odds just to be who you ve been created to be. The wicked game is the one in which you decide to cross the line of the unspoken rules of society and once you do, people think you are insane for daring to do what nobody else has done, for daring to think and act outside of the box they ve made sure you never get out. Daily, it is a risk I take, to be talk down and being seen as too different. Like Nietzsche himself says, a warlike man because of all of the dreams and ambitions troubling him inside but yet, peaceful, for he is at peace with all of them, with ... I ve tried so many times on many different things, but i ve never gave up so I eventually won it or got it. For example Ar, Ar is very hard for me because I don t like reading. Last year I got an F on my report card for Ar each quarter. It was hard, I thought to myself i would never pass Ar. This year i was determined to get an A in Ar. So I read as much as I can and took as much test as I can but the first quarter i failed again. So I tried even harder, so when the next quarter s grades came out i got an A. I kept trying and eventually I won. So that s why I chose this quote. I m pretty sure everyone can relate themselves to this quote. • 6. Analysis Of The Glass Ceiling In The 21st Century In The Glass Ceiling in the 21st Century: Understanding Barriers to Gender Inequality, Manuela Barreto, Michelle K. Ryan, and Michael T. Schmitt explore the presence of gender discrimination in the workplace. They specifically mention specific cases of gender discrimination in the Silicon Valley. This proves that the audience values equality, as well as justice for women. Through discussions of genderstereotypes, personal examples of gender discrimination, and facts and statistics about the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles, the authors convey the idea that gender discrimination does exist and continues to challenge women who seek to prosper in the workforce. Preconceived notions and stereotypes about women hinder women s acquisition of higher roles within the workplace. The book provides statistics that support this idea, citing, a survey of 705 women at the vice president level and above in Fortune 1000 corporations found that 72% agreed or strongly agreed that stereotypes about women s roles and abilities are a barrier to women s advancement to the highest levels (Barreto, Ryan, and Schmitt 22). This statistic provides credibility to the author s claim, as the number of women who agree with this idea of gender stereotypes is substantially high. Women are often not considered to have the same qualities of leaders that men have. According to the authors, sex provides the strongest basis of classifying people; it exceeds race, age, and occupation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will also discuss the most creative composer of the solo concerto who was Antonio Vivaldi. Thirdly I will focus on the main traits Vivaldi developed in a concerto with reference to one of his most enchanting works The Four Seasons. Concerto A concerto is a musical composition for a solo instrument or instruments accompanied by an orchestra .The soloist will have the opportunity to show their potential during the cadenza part in a concerto. The structural thinking behind the Four Seasons was that each movement twelve in all (three per season) would evoke a certain mood. Vivaldi delivered elegance and originality in his work. His music mirrors graphically the action described; this literary link is called program music.Vilvaldis four season concertos were based on an Italian sonnet, likely written by Vivaldi where he depicts and illustrates the narratives through his compositions. For example, in Vivaldi s second concerto summer he depicts a peaceful, calm mood at the beginning of the first movement. The atmosphere is extraordinarily vivid, depicting the oppressive heat from the Mediterranean sun. The plaintive signs of the violin, separated by silences which suggest the intake of breath is a tiring exertion, it gives no hint to the explosive energy that lies ahead. (See example two). In the concerto Winter he evokes a thunder storm, with the use of piercing high notes in the violin at a rapid speed. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The bill of rights reduced the power the monarch had on the civilians, and gave the civilians more power towards the monarchs. In 1919 Ital, England, France, and U.S came to an agreement that Germany had to pay for all the damage they did in the First World War. When Hitler heard of this he started organising an army, air force and started making allies, like Mussillon s Italy. Six months later Hitler breaks the treaty and starts another war. Germany withdrew from the Geneva disarmament conference, which meant they refused to support a British proposal that air bombing be banned. Dresden was also a very important rail centre for moving troops, concentration camp prisoners and war material but it would be no good if the allies destroyed the buildings and factories, because if there will be, still human s; they can rebuild it. However, the unconditional surrender that was favored by the Allies was only accepted by Japan after the Soviet Union entry into the Greater East Asia War and the nuclear devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is a common myth in the Western world that the nuclear bombs Little Boy and Fat Man caused Japan to surrender and in turn saved the lives of thousands of American soldiers that were about to embark upon Operation Downfall, the invasion of Japan. However, decades after the war the idea that the nuclear bombing of Japan was a military necessity is not taken at face value as it once was. Introduction CNC Vertical End Milling Machining is a widely accepted material removal process used to manufacture components with complicated shapes and profiles. During the End milling process, the material is removed by the end mill cutter. The quality of the surface plays a very important role in the performance of milling as a good quality milled surface significantly improves fatigue strength, corrosion resistance, or creep life. The surface generated during milling is affected by different factors such as vibration, spindle run out, temperature, tool geometry, feed, cross feed, tool path and other parameters. During finish milling, the depth of cut is small. The most important interactions, that effect surface roughness of machined surfaces, are between the cutting feed and depth of cut, and between cutting feed and spindle speed. Surface Roughness is affected negatively if the applied force is increased. Surface roughness at the same feed rate becomes higher when a small nose radius is used. Technological parameter range plays a very important role on surface roughness. There is a need of a tool that should allow the evaluation of the surface roughness before the machining of the part and which, at the same time, can easily be used in the production floor environment contributing to the minimization of ... Gross motor skills have two principals that determent how a child will regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). During the 1800s, people with disabilities were used in circuses or in sideshows for entertainment or were put in an asylum for their whole life. They were thought to be abnormal and pitiful. The Disability Rights Movement began in the United States after World War One, because disabled veterans demanded care from the government. The problem has developed into a global effort to protect and aid these people, along with others struggling with their human rights. Contributions by the UN have sparked initiatives, conventions and resolutions to be set in place. Overtime all of those things add up and can become very costly for families This is just in youth sports only, and the cost has increased and has been on the rise. Another problem would be under trained coaches or coaches that are not properly taught how to coach young children in youth sports. Farrey (2013) Only 1 in 5 coaches of youth teams of children under age 14 say they have been trained in effective motivational technique, and just 1 in 3 in skills and tactics in the primary sport they coach . Most of the coaches in youth sports today are fathers that have a kid in the sport, so that might be why they are coaching in the first place. Also they haven t been properly trained in the first place. According to NRPA there are roughly 3.5 million coaches in youth sports and the majority of them are volunteer coaches that lack the training to coach these kids. • 33. People Conform To The Environment In Malcolm Gladwell s... The general argument made by author Malcolm Gladwell in his work, Power of Context, is that people conform to their environment. More specifically, Gladwell argues that environment is what controls how and why a person reacts to a certain situation. He writes, The Broken Windows Theory. In this passage, Gladwell is suggesting that if ones community is poor then people will tend to make poor decisions. In conclusion, Gladwell s belief is that little tipping points will slowly and effectively change the environment they live in. I believe, The Broken Windows theory plays an enormous role in the environment around oneself. Due to the fact that the train station choose to clean every single one of the carts that came through and placing security guards at stations to not allow people to sneak into the trains. By doing these things, this did not manipulate the on goers that saw this but it allowed everyone to see how to be a role model. These little things that the Gunn and William Bratton choose to do set the community up for excellence rather than failure. Gladwell states that if Goetz would have met up with the four young black men in a different place the shooting most likely would not have taken place. Because the train station was treated like trash Goetz first off had the feeling beforehand to carry a gun onto the train. By paying attention to such little details such as the graffiti it could change the mindset of many of the hoodlums around. Malcom says that Gunn drew up a new management structure and a precise set of goals and timetables aimed at cleaning the systems line by line, train by train. He started with the number seven train that connects Queens to midtown Manhattan, and began experimenting with new techniques to clean off the paint. He also states that Gunn is going to be religious about cleaning every train. Gladwell believes that human behavior is more fully formed due to the community around. If the people around you are committing crimes, then you are tempted to do the exact same thing. Gladwell states, It says that crime is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Criminalization Of Hiv Transmission The criminalization of HIV transmission has sparked many debates on how the law and health policy are related and how they both have a profound impact on health. HIV criminalization was a policy meant to incapacitate and rehabilitate those transmitting the disease to others while the retribution of the act would deter others from engaging in transmission . However, the harsh realities of criminalization have caused many to reconsider its original purpose. The criminalization of HIVtransmission in Canada has negative implications on health. This paper will argue that by criminalizing HIV transmission there is a greater chance of individuals not getting tested, that living with HIV can be extremely difficult within the criminal justicesystem, and that criminalization does not address broader, structural issues that cause HIV transmission. The history of HIV criminalization in Canada is rooted in the 1998 case of the Supreme Court of Canada (R. v. Since then, over 70 people in Canada have been criminally charged for not disclosing their HIV status to their sexual partner . The later risk arises from the fluctuations of the prices of investments held. (Nestle annual reports, 2015). Thus, financial derivatives instruments are used by this multinational corporation in order to hedge these risks. Moreover, because of the huge worldwide extension of the corporation, which operates in 194 countries, the use of foreign currency derivatives to minimize the earnings volatility would be the subject of later analysis. The report will focus on how NestlГ© uses futures and option contracts to hedge its exposure to currency risk, centering our attention in NestlГ© Home Currency, the Swiss Franc in relation to the US Dollar (USD/CHF). It will be examined an example of its hedging strategy and the information provided by a contact in the firm. 2.Currency risk: USD/CHF ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Enlightment for Fredrick the Great of Prussia and Joseph... Frederick the Great of Prussia and Joseph II of Austria adopted the newfound ideas of the Enlightenment to different extents with Frederick the Great advancing the ideas by implementing religious toleration, freedom of speech and press, and setting a single code of laws for all of his subjects and not advancing them by not abolishing serfdom for fear of upsetting the Junkers , or Prussian nobility; Joseph II advanced the ideas of the Enlightenment eagerly by completely abolishing serfdom paying no heed to what it could cause socially and politically and he didn t advance these ideas in the end because his many reforms caused alienation of the church and nobility and radical changes in social hierarchy. Frederick the Great of Prussia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of these reforms though were to please the querulous nobility and prevent them from trying to interfere with the government and upset social balance. Frederick the Great set limitations whilst accepting Enlightenment ideas when it interfered with the good of his subjects, economy and his beloved military. All of these three topics depended on the Prussian nobility, or the Junkers who owned large amounts of land had many serfs to farm it. Many of these Junkers also held important military ranks in the army. Frederick the Great could have chosen to abolish serfdom but did not for this would greatly anger the Junkers, the backbone of the Prussian state and military. It was said that Prussia was not a country with an army: it was an army with a country. In Frederick s military, he did not abolish torture to help install discipline and honesty in his soldiers. Keeping this helped his army become the fourth strongest army in Europe. Joseph II of Austria strictly believed that reason was the best and only path to take and so accepted nearly all of the new Enlightenment ideas on his traditionally run empire causing major issues. • 52. Research Paper On Microsoft Powerpoint Corporations across the globe consider the ability to deliver PowerPoint presentations in the business world an invaluable survival tool (Worley Dyrud, 2004). Microsoft PowerPoint is a software which allows users to create informative and engaging slideshow presentations to its audience via laptop, projector, or over the internet (Coulthard, 2017). This software has numerous features to assist the user in developing quick and easy presentations, such as choosing to use predesigned templates, adding notes to slides, as well as previewing the presentationon screen prior to presenting it. Applying these three features to a user s PowerPoint slideshowcan aide in creating a professional and informative slide presentation. Like the rest of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The text in the slides were minimal in nature and to the point, but gave me just enough reference material to ad lib on the process of completing the evaluations. Having predesigned templates to choose from made developing the PowerPoint an easier and quicker process. Another feature offered in PowerPoint is the ability to add notes to a slide. Notes can be added to the slide so the presenter can elaborate to the audience any additional information that goes with the slide. However, the notes do not fit on the slides (Bethel University, 2017). Slides only allow minimal information to fit on each one or they can become too busy and distracting to the audience. Therefore, the additional notes can contain the details that are not on the slide. Notes can be viewed two ways. They can be viewed in the Note pane in normal view, or the Notes Page view (Bethel University, 2017). The Note pane works best if the user has only a few notes to type. These notes will not be visible to the audience, but merely a reference for the presenter. Unfortunately, prior to my employee evaluation class, I was not aware of the Note pane or Notes Page. During my class I worked from notes that I had hand written. I have taught the class on three occasions only to discover during or after each one that I would realize something I needed to address during the presentation. Therefore, I would just jot down a quick, sloppy hand written note. Had I been aware of this feature in PowerPoint, I could have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. The Characteristics And Differences Between Radio And Radio 1.The skills one needs to be a radio listener, are more sophisticated then the skills one would use to understand and interpret a television program. When listening to the radio, one has to be an active listener. It requires you to pay more attention as the information is being processed solely through auditory stimulation. This is unlike watching televisionwhich provides both auditory and visual stimulation. Personally, when listening to Orson Welles War of the Worlds from October 30th 1938, I found myself more easily distracted comparing to when watching a television program or newsstory. It is much easier to pay attention to the later. Moreover, listening to the radio requires a person to use their own imagination more vividly. The audience has to take in what is being described and create their own personal picture of the event. Television seems to give us a more realistic understanding of what it is news anchor is talking about as the consumers can be shown pictures or film footage of the event being discussed. This add to the audience s view of the incident in its entirety. On the radio, the news broadcasters have to be more descriptive when describing the currents events as their descriptions are the sole foundation that the listener s imagination will be based on. It is only through their description that the listener will get an understanding of whatever is being discussed. The radio host must therefore put in more detail than a television host. As expected, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Analysis Of The 25 Minute Magic Bullet The 25 minute Magic Bullet infomercial is full of persuasion in many aspects. Throughout my paper I will highlight how the commercial uses Ranks Model of Persuasion, starting with the intensify and downplay strategies that I observed from watching the Magic Bullet Commercial. The strategies and tactics that the persuaders used worked well, by the end of the commercial I wanted the product they advertised. Throughout my paper I will go more in depth to Rank s Model of persuasionby analyzing, explaining, and providing examples from the Magic Bullet infomercial. There are two main strategies of Rank s model, intensify and downplay. Rank s intensify model strategy is where the persuader intensifies the positive aspects of their campaign or they focus on the negative aspects of a competitor s product or campaign. Included in the intensify portion of Rank s model there are 3 tactics, repetition, association, and composition. These are 3 simple tactics that are used frequently in persuasive material. Repetition includes recurring themes, such as jingles and slogans. Association is where the persuasive material links positive or negative ideas to the advice they are giving to consumers. Composition is the graphic, layout, and design of the persuasive material. In the Magic bullet commercial all three of these aspects of the intensify model were present.(Larson, 2013) Throughout the Magic Bullet commercial the Magic Bullet logo appears on the screen frequently. To fully understand the consequences that homelessness creates for families, children, and individuals, time has to be invested. Further, these services are here to help homeless individuals and families develop long term solutions with lasting success. My experience tells me that I am suitable for the work in the area of my applied experience. I have acquired skills, such as critical thinking, group communication, understanding of individual behavior, organization skills, and accepting criticism. Moreover, I take orders well and can work in a stressful environment. I was efficient in what I put in at the homeless shelter and left with an experience of providing a public service to the community. In addition, I learned that I have the compassion, patience, and interpersonal skills to work around individuals. I was confident enough to approach the families at the shelter and made friendships, which eventually led to them opening up to me. Therefore, I let them feel that they could confide and trust in me without any judgment. I was there to listen and they appreciated that I took the time to hear what they had to say. For example, I heard the different reasons why these individuals ended up at the homeless shelter and how easy it can be to feel stuck. I heard testimonies from families who have undergone ...
