Task Switching Behavior
Video games have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Video games require
players to manipulate images on a screen. In general, those that play video games experience
improvements in hand eye coordination. This is logical, considering the quick movements one
must use to complete a video game. Video games also require the player to perform mental
processes similar to those the player would perform in the real world. With this in mind, it is
possible that certain video games can improve mental processes that are exercised within the
virtual world. Studies have investigated if and how driving, action, and puzzle video games
improve visual skills and risk perception, dual task and task switching skills, and broader executive

As stated in the study video gamers outperformed non gamers in the dual task situation ts(18)
3.205, ps .01, (***). Furthermore, the gamers outperformed nongamers on the task switching
therefore. Interesting enough, there was no significant difference in single task performance
between the two groups. While these findings seem promising, there is no way to say that the
differences in dual task and task switching performances were caused by video game play.
Therefore, the investigators decided to perform another experiment. The purpose of the
experiment was to see if action video games are responsible for the difference in performance on
these tests. The researchers picked two video games for the experiment: Medal of Honor and
Tetris. Medal of Honor is an action video game and Tetris is a puzzle game. It was hypothesized
that playing Medal of Honor would create improvements in the dual task and task switching tests
while Tetris would not create an improvement. In the between subjects experiment, 32 college
students were randomly separated into three groups, 10 in the Medal of Honors group, 10 in the
Tetris group, and 12 in the control group, whom were not exposed to any video games. The
experiment consisted of a pretest, conditioning trials, and a posttest. During the pretest, all three
groups were took the dual task and the task switching tests. After the tests, the two experimental
groups practiced their respective video games in 15 one hour sessions over four weeks. The
control group did not practice either video game. Finally, the three groups retook the two tests, and
the difference in performance was found. The independent variable of the experiment was video
game, with the levels being Medal of Honor, Tetris, and no game. The dependent variable was

Medical Logistics Ordering Problem Solution Essay
1. Problem. To determine if reducing the number of Medical Logistics Ordering systems to two
main systems is the best course of action for the Army.
2. Recommendation. Recommend Possible Solution PS 1 to determine the most effective method
to reduce the number of systems currently used in the Army to order Medical Supplies from
multiple systems down to two. PS 1 best establishes this emphasis by currently incorporating
procedures already in use by the Army Medical Department, and the Medical Logistics community.
3. Background. Logically, the Army Medical Logistics should have connectivity with all systems
currently in used throughout Department of Defense including Operational Forces, Generating
Forces, United States Navy Logistics, and the United States Air Force Logistics. However, most
systems do not interact with each other due to firewall issues and network security connectivity.
4. Facts.
a. According to survey conducted, military personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force,
determine that 55% is proficient on the use of the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support
(DMLSS), 34% on the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support Customer Assistant Module

The Issue Of Illegal Immigration
Illegal immigration has become an explosive issue in the U.S. Many people have debated fervently
in their disapproval of illegal immigration, whereas others defend it just as ardently. The church and
Christian religion/theology has been drawn into the fray over illegal aliens as well, with Christians
on both sides seeking to validate their positions based on their own individual beliefs. I interviewed
many different people with equally varying opinions on the matter. Over the past few months, many
people, old and young, have been educated on the ethical dilemma that immigrationhas caused;
especially due to the Syrian refugee crisis. Every person I interviewed had valid statements
about the issue that is affecting the United States and the World. The majority of people I
interviewed were Christian; however, one person was an Atheist and another was Agnostic. I
found their opinions extremely interesting for the fact that their opinions were morally based and
not spiritually. I did ask in depth of the Christian interviewees about how their religious and
spiritual view affects the view of this controversial issue. Some used the law of the land as an
important aspect. They believe that those who illegally enter any country violate that nation s laws
as well as the laws of God. Believers are torn between showing compassion and mercy to the illegal
immigrants who seek help and not wanting to disrupt God s word. The government expects private
citizens to act as law enforcement.

Dr Sergio Research Paper
Sergio is a Spanish man in his late 30s, and he had black hair. His dream was to go to El Clasico
which was a soccer match against FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, but he didn t have enough
money because some thieves robbed his house during nightfall. Since he was very slow at running
he could only play golf. He tried playing golf, and he did extremely well. He signed up for a golf
league in Granada, Spain. The very first match he got a score of 2 and was ranked number 2.
There were seven matches left, and if he got first place in all the following matches, he would
get to go to the U.S. Open. When he practiced golf, he accidentally fell in the water. Sergio got a
major concussion, and the police took him to the hospital. The total cost of the hospital was 750
Euros. After he payed the bill of 750 Euros, he only had 500 Euros left. He played his second match
and had gotten a score of 5 and was ranked number 1. Sergio was 1 1. Since he won, he got 125
Euros. He spent it on a premium golf club that was like a golden golf club because it lasted for a
long time and was as strong as gold too. This golf club was guaranteed to win all his golf matches.

The Battle Of The War I
Rushabh Shah
History 162B
Paper 1
While recruiting men to fight in World War I, the British Army appealed to ideals of masculinity,
bravery, patriotism and nationalism. This form of propaganda was intended to shape the public s
views, and shape their decisions to revolve around political, gender, and social identity. Thousands
of young British men like Siegfried Sassoon went into World War Iwith this idealism. The
bloodshed found there came as a tremendous shock, as the war was unlike the image portrayed;
the modern war was different and horrifying. It was during the First World War that literature from
these soldiers was developed as a result of the increase in education levels amongst the British
soldiers and public in the years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using graphic detail and bitter imagery, Sassoon expressed the contrast between the beautiful
nature and the destruction of the war. Sassoon begins by using details and poetic language to
describe the beauty of the surroundings, almost to reflect upon the attractive and heroic image of
war portrayed through propaganda. This then contrasts sharply with the graphic and detailed
description of the battlefield. His clever use of vocabulary was employed with great effect often
using words that had more than one definite meaning. In the third line he describes the sun
smoldering through spouts of drifting smoke that shroud . The word smoldering evokes a clear
image of the sun being covered by this thick infected smoke, and used in conjunction with the word
shroud gives the reader an idea of obscurity within the battlefield. On a deeper level, shroud is a
metaphor expressing the concealing nature of the smoke to hide the reality of the war. The
menacing scarred slope creates a dark, threatening image reflecting the fear these soldiers endured
in battle. Although the poem starts of relatively slow, it builds momentum with each new line.
Sassoon successfully creates a sense of suspense, imitating the continuous anticipation of attack
these soldiers endured. The

King Henry As A Good King In William Shakespeare s Henry V
What does it mean to be a king as compared to a man? William Shakespeare s work Henry V
attempts to answer this question with a title character who is both. King Henry s morality,
defined by his deeply complex character, rests precariously on the title he is defined by: should he
be judged solely as a king or also as a man? The label makes a difference. Through his actions and
leadershipduring the play, Henry proves himself to be a good king, one worthy of respect and
admiration. However, at the same time, the same actions do not always reveal a particularly good
or virtuous man. Highlighting the disparity between the two roles, Shakespeare intended for King
Henry to be admired and respected as a good king but not necessarily as a good man.
To understand this distinction, one must first recognize that the qualities that make up a good
king often diverge from those attributed to a good man. For example, to be considered a good
man, one might try to be forgiving and tolerant; however, to be a good king, one often has to be
exactly the opposite. Why does this make sense? It is not because a king is naturally unforgiving
or refuses to take the high road; instead, he has a higher purpose than to be kind to those
immediately around him. To be a good king, one cannot be an emotional creature, but instead be a
calculating one. He should put the needs of his kingdom above all other things, including his own
desires or whims. A good king recognizes that he must serve, protect, and

Banadex S.A., they first began funding AUC in 1997 after receiving threats directed at its property
and its employees. Chiquita was sending moneyto the AUC roughly every month in order to save
their employees and property. Being in charge of the business, it was the responsibility of the
company to put their employees safety first, and thus I feel they were in the right when they
started making the payments at first. This was not a safe time because during the period of mid
1960s, Columbian civil war and armed conflict were very prevalent in those areas. There was the
emergence of powerful drug cartels, which also increased the intensity of the conflict. Moreover,
there was the presence of FARC, which is a revolutionary guerrilla organization and were involved
in illicit and violent activities like extortions, bombings, kidnapping, as well as attacks on political
and military goals. AUC promised Chiquita Bananathe protection from the political and war world

What Is Ancient Egyptian Religion

Have you ever thought about how people in Egypt worshipped many Gods, and praised many
Kings, giving their lives to their authority and hoped they would bless them with good things. They

Osiris, a wise king who was married to his sister Isis, was murdered by their evil brother Seth. Isis

With a higher sense of individuality, humans began to conceive the gods in a personalized form.
This stage in development is called mythical . In Egypt, this process began during the late
prehistoric period, when writing was being invented and myths were being formulated (Mark).
The Mythical part of the egyptian religion was the way people personalized their Gods. They
started to do this in the prehistoric period, where people began to show why things happened
through myths. In the very end, the egyptian Gods were born.
Like all religions, that of ancient Egypt was complex. It evolved over the centuries from one that
emphasized local deities into a national religion with a smaller number of principal deities. Some
theologians think that Egypt was moving towards a monotheistic faith in a single creator,
symbolized by the sun god. There was no single belief system, but the Egyptians shared a common
understanding about the creation of the world and the possibility of reverting to chaos if the
destructive forces of the universe were unleashed (Mark). Even though there were many Gods,
Egyptians all had something in common. They all had one understanding of how the world worked.
Their religion evolved over the years as their culture changed. In the end, Egyptians had a small
number of Gods that helped them understand

Peace Conference Essay
During the peace conference simulation, my character was Tamir and I am on the Israeli side.
My character s beliefs are that I am willing to compromise on the West Bank, the Refugees being

For my character I played in the peace conference simulation, I feel out of 5 I would give myself

ideas for the West Bank because they felt that giving 45% of the West Bank was a small number

refugees back into Israel out of 700,000 because they thought the number of refugees was to many.

An organization s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drives them to look out for the different

Due to the increase of public awareness in the recent years, a company needs to maintain its moral

them millions of dollars. For some cases, it becomes too expensive for companies to be ethical in

Subtle Bias Against Arab Americans Job Applicants Essay
Subtle Bias Against Perceived Arab Americans Job Applicants in Personnel Decision
The terrorist attack of 9/11 is one of the most devastating tragedies in the history of U.S. On one
hand, it filled American s heart with an invariable amount of terror, but at the same time Arab
Americans and Muslims were prejudicially challenged and discriminated at economic, social, and
educational level. Therefore, this paper will specifically analyze how one s religious preference
significantly impacts on his or her job selection. Up to a certain extent, America is a racially
prejudiced country but that is just not limited to Arab American society. It includes Blacks,
Italians, and Chinese with the addition of those who in near future will join this melting pot. The
aim of this paper is to analyze the substantive influence of one s social identity, given shape by
racial and religious factors, on his or her candidacy within a professional milieu.
Concerning the issue of prejudice against Arab Americans, few researches have been done. It is
surprising seeing as little attention has been paid to this ethno religious group whose population
rate has tremendously increased after 9/11. However, one study by Park, Felix, and Lee (2007) do
give us an idea of how prejudice is expressed, implicitly or explicitly, against Muslim people. In
their study, they found that discrimination against Arab Muslims is never shown in an explicit way
but rather in a subtle way. They used an Implicit Association

Confirmation Saint Report
Saint Report
The sacrament of Confirmation is the single most important sacrament a young adult Catholic can

connection to animals and hope to one day become a veterinarian. I chose him as my
Confirmation saint because of who he was before and after God became present in his life. Saint

The classism that gentrification brings into communities cannot be understated, simply because it
is one of the negative driven byproducts of it, because when individuals are forced to see homes in
their respective communities go for 2 to 3 times the market value for what they were previously
going for, it sends the message that those within a higher income bracket are able to dictate the set
prices in real estates. Furthermore, this financial inequality goes beyond just the housing market.
Areas that have seen the wholesale installment of the businesses that stem from gentrification are
often overlooked and not taken in consideration when it comes to the prices set by them. It is

Mcdonald s Liability
Essentially, Ritenbaugh expressed that God s word shows that He holds people accountable for
liability when people have careless disregard towards other people.
Conclusions
The case of Liebeck v. McDonald s clearly illustrates that companies must be mindful of not
harming consumers through defective provides, because consumers that are harmed by products,
have the ability to successfully win awards to be compensated for damages. With that in mind, it is
recommended that Divine Coffee Shops reduce coffee temperatures. According to the Burn
Foundation (2016), to eliminate the risk of burns, hot liquids should not be served beyond 160
degrees. The full article published by the Burn Foundation can be found here: http:/
/www.burnfoundation.org/programs/resource.cfm?c=1 a=3. To ensure that our customers are
protected, we must implement a policy of checking the temperature of the coffee, before serving
customers. The case of Liebeck v. McDonald s was been repeatedly cited as an example of
frivolous litigation in the United States. However, to Stella Liebeck, the lawsuit was not frivolous.

Hispanic Family Structures
In today s world, we have families that consist of different family structures. For instance, before

a typical family household consisting of a mom, dad and child. Over time, families have been
exposed to different familystructures. Although it is still common to see your traditional nuclear

The answer to this question is that it s both. First off, having different family structures in Hispanic
households, allows one to become independent and free of their own choices. Although societal
norms might enforce having a nuclear family, it is ultimately one s choice of what family structure
they want their household to consist of. According to a study shown in Health and health risk

need a culture that attracts and retains the best employees (Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, 2011).
In an industry notorious for high employee turnover and low job satisfaction (Prewitt, 2000), the
Bubba Gump Shrimp Company reduced managementturnover from 36% to 16% in 2 years

In addition, in their study, Kacmar, Andrews, Van Rooy, Steilberg, and Cerrone (2006) found that
management turnover was positively and significantly related to crew turnover, and that crew
turnover was negatively related to unit efficiency. The study was able to illustrate that turnover
does indeed impact unit level performance in terms of both sales and profit (Kacmar, et al., 2006, p.
141). While the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company case study does not specifically describe the
positive impact of improved management retention on business performance, it is reasonable to
assume that both staff retention and restaurant performance were positively impacted. Accordingly,
faced with 36% management turnover, the need to intervene is clear, but how? In order to
determine appropriate interventions to reduce management turnover, an understanding of the
underlying causes is required, in addition to an understanding of theoretical perspectives that relate
to job satisfaction and organizational commitment. While the case study does not specifically
describe the causes of turnover at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, we can infer the possible causes.

Emotional Appeal Of Virginia Woolf
Throughout Virginia Woolf s speech to the Women s Service League, she does her best to inform
the audience about how women should overcome oppression in the professional world as a
necessary change in society. Woolf s intentions are to build an emotional appeal to put help put the
audience in her place. Through understatement, symbolism, and diction, Woolf develops a well
stated opinion in hopes to enlighten her audience to the issue. Woolf starts her speech off by
portraying strong understatements. In paragraph 1, she starts off by saying, It s true. I am a
women; it s true I m employed . She uses a level of sarcasm when presenting this part to show that
although she is a women, she has excelled well enough to become employed in the professional
world. After this, Woolf states that her literary career was cut many years ago and that it built
her career by making her path smooth and regulating her steps. Although her literary career was
a helpful, she tries to play it off as though it was easy for her; in reality she faced many
challenges. Then she goes on to state, because paper is so cheap, women have been more
successful as writers than anything else. This allows Woolf to imply the financial differences
between men and women, without blatantly saying so. Woolf is making it seem as though this
career is easy just because it s the professionshe was able to excel in. She uses understatements for
two reasons. First, to create a connection with her audience. In a way that they see her as a peer,
rather than a superior power. Secondly, she uses it to help create a sense of serenity among
women who are too hesitant to start a profession. In sum, Woolf s use of understatements aids in
portraying her argument to her audience. By exploiting strong symbolism to the consciences of
her audience, Woolf informs her audience about The Angel in the House. This is a poem written in
the 19th century about how women were oppressed and how they sacrifice themselves to impress;
this in which is still going on today. The Angel in the House helps symbolizes the oppression and
the low standards set for women. For example, in paragraph 3 the Angel talks about how women
should only show certain traits, such as sympathy and

Essay An Analysis Of The Jungle By Upton Sinclair
In the early 1900 s life for America s new Chicago immigrant workers in the meat packing
industry was explored by Upton Sinclair s novel The Jungle. Originally published in 1904 as a
serial piece in the socialist newspaper Appeal to Reason, Sinclair s novel was initially found too
graphic and shocking by publishing firms and therefore was not published in its complete form
until 1906. In this paper, I will focus on the challenges faced by a newly immigrated worker and
on what I feel Sinclair s purpose was for this novel. In the early 1900 s a newly arrived immigrant
worker faced numerous challenges that had to be overcome. Often times literally arriving with the

While not all of these examples have a direct monetary impact, each of the dealings associated
with them does which in turn motivates the parties involved to make decisions and perform
actions outside the normal scope for their character. The third challenge faced by new
immigrants was acquiring and then keeping steady work. Although the Packingtown in Chicago
was in a constant state of activity, the sheer number of available workers and the rule of supply
and demand made it difficult for some to find work. It was not uncommon for some workers to
stand at the plant doors for weeks before being selected. And once a person was chosen to be a
worker, they had to labor at a fever pitch to make sure they were retained. That being said, the
worker s problems did not end once they found steady employment. Employers were harsh and
unforgiving in how they treated their employees. For example, if an employee was one minute late
they were penalized an hours pay. If they were 20 minutes late they forfeited their employment.
Worse yet, if they were injured or hurt on the job the company takes no responsibility and the
worker is forced to recuperate on their own time without pay

Obliteration As An Elements Of A Film Genre
Genre in a sense is a way of identifying and categorizing creations in media. It is also an
important factor in the film industry to both the producers and audiences. Genre, to a producer sets
the guidelines as to what can and cannot happens during a film, unless, they are trying to convey a
message or going for a hybrid genre. To the filmaudience, genre is important because it will
quickly enable them to attach to the film. Since they are already familiar to with the setting of the

Analysis Of All Along The Watchtower
All Along the Watchtower is known as a classic rock song, but was originally crafted by Bob
Dylan in 1967. Artists like Pearl Jam, U2, Dave Matthews Band and Eric Clapton have all covered
this song, but notably the most famous version would be Jimi Hendrix rendition. A year after the
song s original release, Hendrix covered the unknown Bob Dylansong and propelled its legacy. Both
songs draw different artistry and interpretations, but the concept is fundamentally the same. In the
original Bob Dylan song, the general vibe was folk or even folk rock. The song form is simple
verse, as the text of the song contains three verses. The tempo is generally slow, and steady
throughout the entire song. Rhythm is kept throughout the song with the acoustic guitar. The beat is
kept by backbeat drums, but are relatively subtle to the timbre of the song. The instrumentation
of All Along the Watchtower includes acoustic guitar, drums and the use of the harmonica. The
harmonica shines through two solos and the outro in the song (first solo 0:45 1:00, second solo
1:29 1:44, and outro 2:12 2:31). Bob Dylan s vocals are unrestrained throughout the song,
differing in pitch. He elevates to higher and lower pitches to create a mysterious message in the
lyrics. Lyrically, this song is debated as one of Dylan s most poetic titles, as no concrete
conclusions have been made on what the song is actually about. The lyrical melody of the song
also sells its folk repertoire to

In addition, when Ed returns home, the audience feels cheated out of seeing the moment that Ed and

The story currently goes on for another 22 or so pages without any real goal or focus. It focuses too
much on Ed and Hel. The audience doesn t see Dorothy get sick or die.
There s no doubt that the characters are likable and potentially intriguing. It s easy to root for Ed
and for Dorothy. Unfortunately because there are too many characters and shifting timelines, the
main characters, like Ed and Dorothy, don t get as much focus as they should. Once the non

information about them. However, avoid sounding overly melodramatic, like when Lloyd sees the

The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston presents the story of a girl trapped between the
cultures of her surrounding environment and that which her mother and family have forced upon
her. Knowing only the Chinese way of life, this girl s mother attempts to familiarize her daughter,
whom is also the narrator, with the history of their family. The mother shares this heritage through
the use of stories in hopes the narrator will be prepared for her ultimate return to China, which is a
life completely foreign to her own. Through these stories and the strong influence of the

narrator had a different idea; she would grow up a woman warrior (20). As a young girl, she said

how would the car move? For example, it would be a pretty slow and weird ride if 20 workers

Role Of Women In Frankenstein
The Temperament of the Natural Role of Women in Frankenstein The scientific advances in
Frankenstein led to disastrous consequences, but on a more biological level than one would think.
The author, Mary Shelley was a woman born in Somers Town, London, in 1797. She was raised by
her father William Godwin, who was a writer and philosopher. When she wrote Frankenstein,
Shelley portrays a determined, male character, Victor Frankenstein as an obsessed scientist who
creates a so called monster out of various body parts he dug up out of a graveyard. The reason for
the description, so called monster is because a true monster is evil, inhumane, and lacks remorse. In

It s important to realize that Frankenstein s nineteenth century is founded on the division of
gender roles: the male inhabits the public sphere, the female is relegated to domestic sphere. For
example, the men in all work outside the home, as public servants, scientists, merchants, or
explorers. Also, the women are confined to the home; Elizabeth, for instance, is not permitted to
travel with Victor. Interestingly, this is the reason why his wife wasn t involved with the idea of
this experiment. Throughout the novel, intellectual activity is segregated from emotional
activity. With this in mind, Victor Frankenstein cannot do scientific research and think lovingly
of Elizabeth and his family at the same time. While working on his experiment, he states to
forget those friends who were so many miles absent, and whom I had not seen for so long a
time, ( Shelley 50) which means he became disconnected from his relationships. This directly to
his downfall because Frankenstein cannot work and love at the same time. This results in him
failing to feel empathy for the creature. The reason for this is because being in isolation for so
long, he starts to lose his sense of humility. By not maintaining a loving relationship with his wife,
he lost his reason to show compassion. Also, he fails to love or feel any parental responsibility. As
a matter of fact, Frankenstein manages to eliminate the biological role of women, but didn t fulfill
the motherly aspect. He fails to raise the monster as a mother would raise a child. The reason for
this is because he created the monster for his own personal gain. Women, on the other hand, give
birth with the intention to nurture and raising a life. By eliminating the biological role of women,
but not fulfilling the motherly aspect, it results in the monster seeking revenge on his creator,

the woods taking on a life of its own. From this Brown watches in horror as the devil throws the
supernatural serpent shaped staff on the ground, causing it to come to life and slither into the

Hawthorne creates a supernatural element within the birthmark itself, as it creates the question on
whether or not Georgianna is an angel or human. The birthmark, being the only human feature, is
the only factor keeping Georgianna attached to reality. When the birthmark is removed, the only
attachment to reality is broken and Georgina is taken up into heaven, the only pure place in

What is the first thing that pops into your head when you think of the story of Jonah? Most

Jonah, son of Amittai, lived in Israel during the reign of Jeroboam 2, around 793 753 B.C. In the

Assyria was a threat to Jonah s city. So, when Jonah s contemporaries, Amos and Hosea, said that
God was going to use Assyria as an instrument of punishment against his people, the Israelites were
slightly glad. That is when God called Jonah to Assyria to, cry out against wickedness in the city of

Jonah had always worshiped God but turned away from him once when he was told to go to
Nineveh to help his enemies. Imagine if you were Jonah and you were told to go save the

that easy and made it clear what Jonah had to do. Eventually, Jonah listened to God and took a
long journey to deliver five words throughout Nineveh. Those words were, Forty more days and

Rhinosinusitis Essay
The most common organisms associated with adult bacteria rhinosinusitis are Streptococcus
pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenza (Arcangelo, 2013). These organisms are the normal flora
seen in healthy individuals, when over populated, they invade the sinuses, causing acute
rhinosinusitis. Morazella catarrhalis is mostly seen in children. Other less frequently seen
organisms are A Streptococcus, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes (Arcangelo,
2013).
Causes of rhinosinusitis may include: allergy, or hay fever, humidity, cold air, alcohol, and
perfumes (Arcangelo, 2013). Other risk factors may also include overuse of nasal decongestants,
deviated nasal septum, nasal foreign body, frequent swimming or diving, dental work, pregnancy,...

Symptoms relief is the key. Therapies to help relieve symptoms may include, aspirin or
acetaminophen for fever and aches, decongestants for stuffy nose or topical corticosteroids (may
alter the immune system s response to infection), antihistamines are only recommended if the
patient has allergies (Arcangelo, 2013).
Antibiotics treatment should be prescribed to patients who do not improve or have worsening
symptoms after 7 days of observation (Arcangelo, 2013). Antibiotics should be considered if more
than of the following symptoms are present: fever 102℉, pain, tenderness of the ears, sinuses,
face, purulent color sputum, sore throat, dyspnea, and pleuritic chest pain without any improvement
for over 10 days (Arcangelo, 2013).
Nonpharmacological therapy includes rest, proper hydration, hot shower, room humidifier, and
saline nasal flushes are shown to be helpful in relieving the symptoms of rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo,
2013).
The goal of medication therapy is to decrease the duration of symptoms, prevent compilations such
as meningitis or brain abscess and acute rhinosinusitis becoming chronic rhinosinusitis (Arcangelo,
2013).
The duration of the antibiotics should either be at least 14 days or 7 days after the symptoms has
resolved completely, whichever is the longer.

his poems. He was this way because he had a unique style to his writing by making his poems
fun for people by the rhythm he puts into them. The style is being different in every poem to be
able to connect with his audience depending on what the purpose of the poem is. Although

Nt1110 Memory Lab Report
In computer organization and architecture, memory is the most important part of a computer.
Every computer must have its own memory. Memory represents two stable or semi stable states
that are representing 1 and 0. It is capable of being written to at least once and read multiple
times. In this lab, we will learn briefly on two parts of memory only, which are RAM and ROM.
As we know that a memory can either be non volatile (as seen in a read only memory) or volatile
(used in random access memory).
There are several types of semiconductor memory, such as Random Access Memory (RAM), Read
Only Memory (ROM), Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM), Erasable Programmable Read
Only Memory (EPROM), Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM)
and Flash Memory. There are many types of RAM, such as Static RAM (SRAM), Dynamic RAM
(DRAM), Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) and Double Data Rate SDRAM (DDR SDRAM). In
order to catch up with the increasing speed of processors, the RAM is needed to be ... Show more

ROM is a form of semiconductor that can be written to. It was used to store the programs called
firmware that a computer executes when switched on. ROM is still used in systems with
constant functionalities. PROM is similar to ROM but allows the users to write their own
programs and data. However, it needs a special PROM writing equipment. For EPROM, we can
erase the data of the chips and rewrite with new information. It is normally used to store the boot
program of a computer (firmware), which is known as Basic I/O System (BIOS). EEPROM
supports updates to individual bytes whereas EPROM updates the whole memory. FLASH
memory is a cheaper type of EEPROM where updates can only be carried out on the blocks of
memory but not on individual bytes. It is found in USB sticks, flash cards and typically range
from 1 GB to 32

Singapore And The New Xyz Co. Singapore
Our team has received a great opportunity to prove ourselves by working abroad at the new XYZ
Co. Singapore branch. We understand this is an important endeavor for the company and we
aim to surpass our target goals reached in St. Louis. Because we are entering unfamiliar
territory, I have researched three key topics that are pinpointed in this document: Hofstede s
Value Dimensions, doing business in Singapore and everyday living. Adjusting our current
procedures to the standards and norms of Singapore will be essential to our success in this
foreign society. By understanding these topics I have no doubt that we will be prepared for
employment in Singapore. HOFSTEDE S VALUE DIMENSIONS Many important assumptions
can be drawn from comparing Singapore and America s scores on the Hofstede s Value
Dimensions. Power distance describes how people respond to inequality in power in society
(Daft). Singapore scores high on power distance, at 74 compared to the U.S s 40. This means
that authority is centralized and control is to be expected (http://geert hofstede.com
/singapore.html). An individualistic society is a society where individuals are expected to
provide for themselves (Daft). Individualism ranks very low, scoring 20 compared to 91 in the
U.S. This is where the biggest difference lies between American and Singapore. America is a
highly individualistic society while Singapore is a collectivistic society. Mutual respect is expected
and conflicts are to be avoided

The Effects of Changes from 1949 to the Beginning of the Great Leap Forward in 1958 on the
Lives of the Chinese People China
Under the lead of Mao, China had been released by the old imperial system, and through a civil
war, China has turned into a communism state called the new People s Republic of China. During
the time Mao was in power, he introduced a great variety of changes, ranging from political and
economic to social. The major and the most effective ones were The Rights of Women, Land
Reform, Industrial Reform, The Hundred Flowers Campaign, Education and Health. However, did
these policies affect the majority positively, or were there any negative effects.

However a number of women were fearful of the change, for not sure whether the government
would enforce the law properly. Besides, the introduction of this law means that the concubines
would loose everything. As for men, only the minority who had been influenced by the Western
cultures would agree having equality between men and women. As for the others, it meant that they
would loose their status, and control of property.
The outcome of the Marriage Law seems to be quite successful in terms of its initial aim. On 29
September 1951 the People s Daily reported that the divorce is relatively rare, Why would people
want to be divorced when they married of their own volition? (Sidel Ruth, Date unknown)
However, during the process of enforcing this law, people from the countryside would often find it
difficult to accept, because they were firmly constrained by the old tradition, whereas in the more
developed cities, people tend to be better educated and have more association with the Western
people, and therefore would find it easier to accept any new ideology. The younger generations
would also find the change more comfortable than the elders, once again due to foreign influences.
Prohibition of foot binding was also introduced along, as part of the Women

To Kill A Mockingbird Compare And Contrast Essay
n To Kill a Mockingbird, children live in an inventive world where mysteries abound but little
exists to actually cause them harm. Scout and Jem spend much of their time inventing stories
about their reclusive neighbor Boo Radley, gleefully scaring themselves before rushing to the
secure, calming presence of their father, Atticus. As the novel progresses, however, the imaginary
threat that Boo Radley poses pales in comparison to the real dangers Jem and Scout encounter in
the adult world. The siblings recognition of the difference between the two pushes them out of
childhood and toward maturity and as they make that transition, Boo Radley, their childhood
bogeyman, helps serve as the link between their past and their present. The games and stories Jem
and Scout create around Boo Radley depict him as a source of violence and danger. However,
though these inventions seem designed to prove the children s braveness and maturity, they
paradoxically prove that Jem, Scout, and their friend Dill fundamentally remain children. Their
stories are gruesome, and the thrill of their games such as touching the side of Boo s house comes
from the danger they imagine they would face if Boo were to catch them. However, the children
are able... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fire at Miss Maudie s, Mrs. Dubose s grisly death, and the violence and unrest that trails in the
wake of the Tom Robinson case introduce real misfortune and anxiety into their lives. For the first
time, adults are frightened and sad along with the children, and therefore cannot be counted on to
provide security or refuge. Boo Radley, once such a threatening presence, now seems like a
remnant of a more innocent time. The contrast between then and now seems all the more stark
because Boo Radley remains in their lives, a constant reminder of how things had been

Theme Of Honor In Henry The IV
Some argue that honor is the central theme of Henry the IV (part 1),after reading the play and
watching it I strongly agree with that statement. Throughout the play, the two main characters
Hotspur and Prince Hal desired to feel honored.Even though they didn t truly understand its value
and how to receive it in a precise way they still wanted to feel entitled. William Shakespearenever
gave the idea of honor a definition, he created a play that reflects honor through the three main
characters Prince Hal, Harry Percy also known as Hotspur and Sir John Falstaffpersonality rather
than giving the audience the definition.
In Henry the IV, Hotspur who is a critical and very organized person felt as though honor has to
do with glory when fighting on the battlefield and defending his country s reputation in doing so
he tests the king s power by refusing to give up his prisoners and offends him by saying he acts
like a prince (1.1.80). In order to stay true to his words he also decides to lead the rebellion
against the king, which personally I believe takes a lot of courage to go against an individual
who has more authority. I believe that if an individual is able to stand up to someone with higher
power to prove themselves, their the true definition of honor. Unlike Prince Harry and Falstaff,
Hotspur spends his free time in royalty to learn his how he can become a great leader. King Henry
states that Hotspur is the theme of honor (1.1.80) which indicates that he is the perfect

The Decameron Analysis
Nasty Women in The Decameron In The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio one of the book s
main focuses is on the portrayal of women of the Middle Ages. Boccaccio portrays women as
overtly sexual, outspoken and highly self motivated characters, while women of the time often
knew their place in society and often performed the tasks left undone by their lords. Two of the
women Boccaccio portrays are Elissa and Pampinea. Elissa and Pampinea are two women
Boccaccio portrays as different, complex women characters. Boccaccio s portrays women of the
Middle Ages as overtly sexual, outspoken and highly self motivated characters, while women of
the time often knew their place in society. The women often performed task when the men were
away or unable to get their tasks done. Boccaccio states in the Introduction that he created this
piece of work for all the ladies out there. He said he created career suicide by writing The
Decameron for and about women but he does it because he loves them. The roles of women in
this time period were firmly connected through the Church. The Catholic Church was not only a
governing system but also maintained an ideal of morality. It was often said that respect for
women is only found in a society where monogamy is the law of the land ( Roles ). Monogamy
is the practice of being married to only one person at a time which would be respectful towards
women because the husband only has one wife. Polygamy was also a practice at the time where a

Cloud Computing Research Paper
Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use
software globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how
software is purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are
responsible for the current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both
have immediate and significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major
contributions each makes are explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the
Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of
how every size and type of business uses software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the
need to go through an extensive capital expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the
board of directors of a business (Aljabre, 2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for
through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of
business managers or those managers and executives responsible for a given business unit. This
dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise software market, as cloud based
applications can often be modified significantly faster than on premise applications (Lin, Chen,
2012). As a result of this flexibility, enterprises, medium size and small businesses are all relying
on cloud based applications to automate those process areas that had been expensive and

Geographic Expansion and Profits of Financial Institutions...
Geographic diversification is a necessity for any financial institution interested in growing and
expanding. As financial institutions grow geographically, numerous issues may arise. Before any
expansion planning can be done, financial institution managers must make a determination on the
type of geographic expansion that best fits the financial institutionand its goals. Making the correct
decision to further expand operations domestically or internationally is imperative to ensure success
of the expansion. Regardless of the breadth of the expansion efforts, financial institutions will face
increased risks, new regulatory environments, and potentially different cultural barriers. Outside of
these risks, however, is the issue of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For financial institution shareholders, diversification should be a consideration for several reasons
(Schmid Walter, 2012). For instance, financial institutions would want to expand geographically in
order to improve its competitive advantage and enhance its capital allocation position (Schmid
Walter, 2012). Additionally, other considerations include improving efficiencies, taking advantage
of inequalities in exchange rates, and providing unified customer service across various geographies
(Schmid Walter, 2012). Although there are increased costs associated with expansions (information,
contracting, and regulatory), the benefits are seemingly compensatory and offset these (Schmid
Walter, 2012). Multinational banks, or those with physical operations in multiple countries, can also
benefit from an expansion of their operations geographically (Weller Hersh, 2002).
There are numerous benefits for financial institutions that seek geographic diversification,
domestically or internationally. For one, geographic expansions provide the opportunity for
efficiently operated organizations to extend the efficiencies across additional locations and more
resources (Berger DeYoung, 2001). The increases in efficiency can result in decreased costs for
products offered, greater revenues due to broader product offerings, or both (Berger DeYoung,
2001). For example, improving network production through the joining of

The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan
As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the
same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the
regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the
rules needed to pull the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the
Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the
rest of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the
developers are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable
and reliable code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and
they are left with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19

Locke And His Theory Of Motivation
Here is where I first disagree with Locke and his theory of motivation of the will according to
pain and pleasure. I think this is a difficult notion to be comfortable with. To use the formula of
pleasure minus pain equals happiness is in direct conflict with Christian teachings and the
common good of all people. Locke, being a self proclaimed Christian, is revealing himself
throughout this book as actually being non Christian, and I agree with Chappell when she stated
that he was an egotist and a hedonist . He discounts the husbands that sacrifice for their wives,
the wives that sacrifice for their husbands, parents that sacrifice for their children, siblings that
sacrifice for each other, neighbors that sacrifices for neighbors, the priests that sacrifice for the
church and all people, people that sacrifice for God, and we can go on and on and on. We are all
meant to work toward the good of all and serve one another, but not for Locke. Locke says that
every intelligent Bring really seeks Happiness, which consists in the enjoyment of pleasure, without
any considerable mixtures of uneasiness . I see two was to read this excerpt. First is to take the
capital B in Bring and interpret the intelligent Being as relating to all human being and saying this
is to say all humans think that happiness is maximized pleasure and minimized pain. And to refute
this is to point back to the list of people who sacrifice pleasures and even life for the wellbeing of
others. The

  • 2. Task Switching Behavior Video games have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Video games require players to manipulate images on a screen. In general, those that play video games experience improvements in hand eye coordination. This is logical, considering the quick movements one must use to complete a video game. Video games also require the player to perform mental processes similar to those the player would perform in the real world. With this in mind, it is possible that certain video games can improve mental processes that are exercised within the virtual world. Studies have investigated if and how driving, action, and puzzle video games improve visual skills and risk perception, dual task and task switching skills, and broader executive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in the study video gamers outperformed non gamers in the dual task situation ts(18) 3.205, ps .01, (***). Furthermore, the gamers outperformed nongamers on the task switching therefore. Interesting enough, there was no significant difference in single task performance between the two groups. While these findings seem promising, there is no way to say that the differences in dual task and task switching performances were caused by video game play. Therefore, the investigators decided to perform another experiment. The purpose of the experiment was to see if action video games are responsible for the difference in performance on these tests. The researchers picked two video games for the experiment: Medal of Honor and Tetris. Medal of Honor is an action video game and Tetris is a puzzle game. It was hypothesized that playing Medal of Honor would create improvements in the dual task and task switching tests while Tetris would not create an improvement. In the between subjects experiment, 32 college students were randomly separated into three groups, 10 in the Medal of Honors group, 10 in the Tetris group, and 12 in the control group, whom were not exposed to any video games. The experiment consisted of a pretest, conditioning trials, and a posttest. During the pretest, all three groups were took the dual task and the task switching tests. After the tests, the two experimental groups practiced their respective video games in 15 one hour sessions over four weeks. The control group did not practice either video game. Finally, the three groups retook the two tests, and the difference in performance was found. The independent variable of the experiment was video game, with the levels being Medal of Honor, Tetris, and no game. The dependent variable was change in performance from pretest to ... • 4. The Issue Of Illegal Immigration Illegal immigration has become an explosive issue in the U.S. Many people have debated fervently in their disapproval of illegal immigration, whereas others defend it just as ardently. The church and Christian religion/theology has been drawn into the fray over illegal aliens as well, with Christians on both sides seeking to validate their positions based on their own individual beliefs. I interviewed many different people with equally varying opinions on the matter. Over the past few months, many people, old and young, have been educated on the ethical dilemma that immigrationhas caused; especially due to the Syrian refugee crisis. Every person I interviewed had valid statements about the issue that is affecting the United States and the World. The majority of people I interviewed were Christian; however, one person was an Atheist and another was Agnostic. I found their opinions extremely interesting for the fact that their opinions were morally based and not spiritually. I did ask in depth of the Christian interviewees about how their religious and spiritual view affects the view of this controversial issue. Some used the law of the land as an important aspect. They believe that those who illegally enter any country violate that nation s laws as well as the laws of God. Believers are torn between showing compassion and mercy to the illegal immigrants who seek help and not wanting to disrupt God s word. The government expects private citizens to act as law enforcement. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Battle Of The War I Rushabh Shah History 162B Paper 1 While recruiting men to fight in World War I, the British Army appealed to ideals of masculinity, bravery, patriotism and nationalism. This form of propaganda was intended to shape the public s views, and shape their decisions to revolve around political, gender, and social identity. Thousands of young British men like Siegfried Sassoon went into World War Iwith this idealism. The bloodshed found there came as a tremendous shock, as the war was unlike the image portrayed; the modern war was different and horrifying. It was during the First World War that literature from these soldiers was developed as a result of the increase in education levels amongst the British soldiers and public in the years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using graphic detail and bitter imagery, Sassoon expressed the contrast between the beautiful nature and the destruction of the war. Sassoon begins by using details and poetic language to describe the beauty of the surroundings, almost to reflect upon the attractive and heroic image of war portrayed through propaganda. This then contrasts sharply with the graphic and detailed description of the battlefield. His clever use of vocabulary was employed with great effect often using words that had more than one definite meaning. In the third line he describes the sun smoldering through spouts of drifting smoke that shroud . The word smoldering evokes a clear image of the sun being covered by this thick infected smoke, and used in conjunction with the word shroud gives the reader an idea of obscurity within the battlefield. On a deeper level, shroud is a metaphor expressing the concealing nature of the smoke to hide the reality of the war. The menacing scarred slope creates a dark, threatening image reflecting the fear these soldiers endured in battle. Although the poem starts of relatively slow, it builds momentum with each new line. Sassoon successfully creates a sense of suspense, imitating the continuous anticipation of attack these soldiers endured. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. King Henry As A Good King In William Shakespeare s Henry V What does it mean to be a king as compared to a man? William Shakespeare s work Henry V attempts to answer this question with a title character who is both. King Henry s morality, defined by his deeply complex character, rests precariously on the title he is defined by: should he be judged solely as a king or also as a man? The label makes a difference. Through his actions and leadershipduring the play, Henry proves himself to be a good king, one worthy of respect and admiration. However, at the same time, the same actions do not always reveal a particularly good or virtuous man. Highlighting the disparity between the two roles, Shakespeare intended for King Henry to be admired and respected as a good king but not necessarily as a good man. To understand this distinction, one must first recognize that the qualities that make up a good king often diverge from those attributed to a good man. For example, to be considered a good man, one might try to be forgiving and tolerant; however, to be a good king, one often has to be exactly the opposite. Why does this make sense? It is not because a king is naturally unforgiving or refuses to take the high road; instead, he has a higher purpose than to be kind to those immediately around him. Woolf s intentions are to build an emotional appeal to put help put the audience in her place. Through understatement, symbolism, and diction, Woolf develops a well stated opinion in hopes to enlighten her audience to the issue. Woolf starts her speech off by portraying strong understatements. In paragraph 1, she starts off by saying, It s true. I am a women; it s true I m employed . She uses a level of sarcasm when presenting this part to show that although she is a women, she has excelled well enough to become employed in the professional world. After this, Woolf states that her literary career was cut many years ago and that it built her career by making her path smooth and regulating her steps. Although her literary career was a helpful, she tries to play it off as though it was easy for her; in reality she faced many challenges. Then she goes on to state, because paper is so cheap, women have been more successful as writers than anything else. This allows Woolf to imply the financial differences between men and women, without blatantly saying so. Woolf is making it seem as though this career is easy just because it s the professionshe was able to excel in. She uses understatements for two reasons. First, to create a connection with her audience. In a way that they see her as a peer, rather than a superior power. Secondly, she uses it to help create a sense of serenity among women who are too hesitant to start a profession. In sum, Woolf s use of understatements aids in portraying her argument to her audience. By exploiting strong symbolism to the consciences of her audience, Woolf informs her audience about The Angel in the House. This is a poem written in the 19th century about how women were oppressed and how they sacrifice themselves to impress; this in which is still going on today. Role Of Women In Frankenstein The Temperament of the Natural Role of Women in Frankenstein The scientific advances in Frankenstein led to disastrous consequences, but on a more biological level than one would think. The author, Mary Shelley was a woman born in Somers Town, London, in 1797. She was raised by her father William Godwin, who was a writer and philosopher. When she wrote Frankenstein, Shelley portrays a determined, male character, Victor Frankenstein as an obsessed scientist who creates a so called monster out of various body parts he dug up out of a graveyard. The reason for the description, so called monster is because a true monster is evil, inhumane, and lacks remorse. In addition to this, the stigma around appearance being sociated with monster like... It s important to realize that Frankenstein s nineteenth century is founded on the division of gender roles: the male inhabits the public sphere, the female is relegated to domestic sphere. For example, the men in all work outside the home, as public servants, scientists, merchants, or explorers. Also, the women are confined to the home; Elizabeth, for instance, is not permitted to travel with Victor. Interestingly, this is the reason why his wife wasn t involved with the idea of this experiment. Throughout the novel, intellectual activity is segregated from emotional activity. With this in mind, Victor Frankenstein cannot do scientific research and think lovingly of Elizabeth and his family at the same time. While working on his experiment, he states to forget those friends who were so many miles absent, and whom I had not seen for so long a time, ( Shelley 50) which means he became disconnected from his relationships. This directly to his downfall because Frankenstein cannot work and love at the same time. This results in him failing to feel empathy for the creature. The reason for this is because being in isolation for so long, he starts to lose his sense of humility. By not maintaining a loving relationship with his wife, he lost his reason to show compassion. Also, he fails to love or feel any parental responsibility. As a matter of fact, Frankenstein manages to eliminate the biological role of women, but didn t fulfill the motherly aspect. He fails to raise the monster as a mother would raise a child. The reason for this is because he created the monster for his own personal gain. From this Brown watches in horror as the devil throws the supernatural serpent shaped staff on the ground, causing it to come to life and slither into the obscurity of the forest. Hawthorne s technique is also found in his work The Birthmark. The birthmark, being the only human feature, is the only factor keeping Georgianna attached to reality. When the birthmark is removed, the only attachment to reality is broken and Georgina is taken up into heaven, the only pure place in existence. Throughout the play, the two main characters Hotspur and Prince Hal desired to feel honored.Even though they didn t truly understand its value and how to receive it in a precise way they still wanted to feel entitled. William Shakespearenever gave the idea of honor a definition, he created a play that reflects honor through the three main characters Prince Hal, Harry Percy also known as Hotspur and Sir John Falstaffpersonality rather than giving the audience the definition. Cloud Computing Research Paper Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is revolutionizing the use software globally at a very rapid pace as it is completely redefining the economics of how software is purchased and used. Web 2.0 technologies and their underlying design precepts are responsible for the current and future generations of social networks (Bernoff, Li, 2008). Both have immediate and significant impacts on the operations of businesses and the major contributions each makes are explained in this analysis. Analysis of the Business Uses of the Cloud and Web 2.0 Technologies Cloud computing has drastically reordered the economics of how every size and type of business uses software. For the large enterprise there is no longer the need to go through an extensive capital expense (CAPEX) budgeting process, often involving the board of directors of a business (Aljabre, 2012). Cloud computing software is often pad for through operating expense (OPEX) budgets, which shifts the control of its budgeting to the line of business managers or those managers and executives responsible for a given business unit. This dynamic alone has completely reordered the enterprise software market, as cloud based applications can often be modified significantly faster than on premise applications (Lin, Chen, 2012). Multinational banks, or those with physical operations in multiple countries, can also benefit from an expansion of their operations geographically (Weller Hersh, 2002). There are numerous benefits for financial institutions that seek geographic diversification, domestically or internationally. For one, geographic expansions provide the opportunity for efficiently operated organizations to extend the efficiencies across additional locations and more resources (Berger DeYoung, 2001). The increases in efficiency can result in decreased costs for products offered, greater revenues due to broader product offerings, or both (Berger DeYoung, 2001). For example, improving network production through the joining of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the rules needed to pull the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the rest of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the developers are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable and reliable code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and they are left with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19 *Process flow *Please see appendence for the project resource plan. • 54. Locke And His Theory Of Motivation Here is where I first disagree with Locke and his theory of motivation of the will according to pain and pleasure. I think this is a difficult notion to be comfortable with. To use the formula of pleasure minus pain equals happiness is in direct conflict with Christian teachings and the common good of all people. Locke, being a self proclaimed Christian, is revealing himself throughout this book as actually being non Christian, and I agree with Chappell when she stated that he was an egotist and a hedonist . He discounts the husbands that sacrifice for their wives, the wives that sacrifice for their husbands, parents that sacrifice for their children, siblings that sacrifice for each other, neighbors that sacrifices for neighbors, the priests that sacrifice for the church and all people, people that sacrifice for God, and we can go on and on and on. We are all meant to work toward the good of all and serve one another, but not for Locke. Locke says that every intelligent Bring really seeks Happiness, which consists in the enjoyment of pleasure, without any considerable mixtures of uneasiness . I see two was to read this excerpt. First is to take the capital B in Bring and interpret the intelligent Being as relating to all human being and saying this is to say all humans think that happiness is maximized pleasure and minimized pain. And to refute this is to point back to the list of people who sacrifice pleasures and even life for the wellbeing of others. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
