The Impact Of Catalytic Clothing On The Environment Essay
Pollution is one of the biggest global killers, affecting over 100 million people. The air pollution
in Beijing, China, is so severe that it s equivalent to smoking 21 cigarettes a day. People are
always trying to find new ways to improve the increasing build up of pollution, and most recently
this is being done through fashion.
The idea of saving the planet is not new to the fashion industry, and many designers and
merchandisers have been vigorously looking for ways to make sure their garments have less of a
negative environmental effect. Catalytic Clothing shows that just by simply wearing a garment we
can stop the increase of deadly pollution, which I will be looking into further in this report to show
the outcomes which could be made if commercially produced.
This report also aims to show how Catalytic Clothing could having an effect on the of the
environment. (re word)
This idea is collective by the two founders of Catalytic Clothing: Professor Tony Ryan, a scientist
from the University of Sheffield, and Professor Helen Storey, a designer and artist from the London
College of Fashion. I will be looking more into Helen Storeys other work and how her
environmentally friendly ideas and creations have had an impact on not only the growing
sustainable fashion industry, but also improving the environment.

The Effects Of Antidepressant Pills On Teenagers And...

Teenagers and Antidepressants In recent discussions of antidepressant pills a controversial issue
has been whether doctors should prescribe antidepressants to teenagers. Antidepressant pills are
prescribed to
individuals who suffer from a condition called Major Depression Disorder, labeled MDD for
abbreviation. Major Depressive Disorder is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and
persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self esteem and by loss of interest or pleasure in
normally enjoyable activities. The objectives of antidepressant pills are to stabilize, and
normalize the abnormal low levels of brain chemicals for those who suffer from MDD. On the
other hand, some argue that antidepressants are harmful and do a disadvantage to teenagers,
therefore should not be prescribed to them. However, others argue that the pills are not harmful
and in some cases the strong need of antidepressants outweigh the risks the pills might provide.
Antidepressants prevent teenagers from recuperating on their own and prevents them from
learning how to cope with conflicts thus, they should not be prescribed.
Depression results in symptoms such as sadness, it affects a person s emotions and leads
to both emotional and physical problems. The antidepressant pills are meant to help the brain
recuperate and adjust to normality. The reason why people reconsider taking the pills in the first
place is

Why Is Frederick The Great Effective
Frederick II or Frederick the Great was a monarch of Prussia that reigned from 1740 to 1786.
Another monarch which reigned during Frederick the Great s reign was Maria Theresa, of the
Hapsburg family, who reigned from 1740 to 1780 over Austria. She came into power because
her father, Charles VI, created a document called the Pragmatic Sanction. The Pragmatic
Sanction is a document that other monarchs signed to allow Maria Theresa to inherit the
Hapsburg land. However after Charles died, not all the countries agreed with the Pragmatic
Sanction. This lead to conflict between Prussia and Austria. Because of this conflict, historians
debate which ruler was more effective and powerful. Frederick the Great is a more effective and
powerful ruler because he won several wars against Austria, he had a stronger alliance with
Russia, improved Prussia s domestic affairs, and succeeded in foreign affairs. Some consider
Maria Theresa worthy of the title and even a more effective and powerful ruler than Frederick II
because of her achievements in the arts and architecture. Maria Theresa... Show more content on

Frederick the Great exhibited his greatness as a ruler by winning all 3 of the Silesian Wars and
the Seven Years War against Austria. He improved domestic affairs by making Prussia a world
power by increasing their rankings, and by strengthening the arts and literature. Frederick the
Great also succeeded in foreign affairs by creating the German League of Princes and forced the
Holy Roman Empire to abandon all ideas of acquiring Bavaria. Historians can debate otherwise
but Frederick II is truly deserving of his title of the great. His entire reign justifies and proves he is

A Comparison Of My Fair Lady And My Fair Lady
After reading Ovid s original myth Pygmalion and Galatea , Shaw was disappointed with it and
decided to take pen to paper and create his own version of the story, thus Shaw s Pygmalion was
created. The story follows the quest of a young girl, Eliza Doolittle, to transform into a lady
because of a bet made by Henry Higgins, a gentleman who is knowledgeable in phonetics. Eliza is
successfully able to shape herself into a lady however, the book does not end with happy union of
Higgins and Eliza rather a deep animosity between them. In George Cukors musical My Fair Lady
diverges from Shaw s original play, and has Higgins and Eliza end up together. Therefore ending of
My Fair Lady is a vulgar travesty of the play s design, as Nicholas Grene writes because it
undermines Eliza s transformation and it is not a logical ending.
Eliza s transformation is something that happens of the course of the play in order for that
transformation to hold true Eliza needed to decide not to marry Higgins. Shaw even calls the
play a romance in five acts because of Eliza s transformation. After the ambassador s garden
party, the bet is deemed a success because the host and the guests of the party believe that she is
a lady. Even Nepommuck, Higgins apprentice who has surpassed him, firmly believes that Eliza
produces an air of divine light... [and that] She is a princess (Shaw 72). The host and hostess
both agree on this, which is meant to signify the success of Eliza s transformation. However,
Eliza s success at the garden party is not the true ending of her transformation. The true ending of
her transformation is when Eliza stands up for herself and defies Higgins thus becoming a true
lady. During the entirety of Eliza s six months of training under Higgins, he treats her
atrociously. Upon her arrival, he threatens to kick her out and assaulted her with a barrage of
insults such as squashed cabbage leaf and guttersnipe . He did not treat Eliza like a lady, as a result,
she did not feel like a lady. On the other hand, Pickering always treated her like a lady and she
gained self respect from that. Eliza explains that the difference between a flower girl and a maiden
is how she s treated because Pickering always treats

Attitude Forming Through Day Care

English IV, Per. 4
5 October 2014 Attitude Forming Through Day Care
Asking how day care affects children s behavior and development is almost like asking how
parenting affects children s behavior and development. Day care has many effects, some negative
and some positive. These effects depend on the quality of the care, the type of care, and the amount
of time spent in caring, just like parenting. Children spending more than ten hours a week in the
care of someone other than the mother has a long reach. Time spent in day care at a young age
negatively affects a child s social behavioral development.
About 11 million children under the age of 6 in America are put in day care. Day care is used by
many working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Day care has a huge impact on the way a child behaves growing up. According to the article,
Study Ties Day Care to Some Behavior Problems, The more time that kids spent in day care, the
more likely their sixth grade teachers were to report problem behaviors such as getting in fights,
being disobedient in school and arguing a lot, according to the largest study of child care and
development ever conducted in the United States. Children in day care may be taught
independent thinking which could be a huge issue for teachers. They are more likely to be
aggressive, angry and uncooperative in their early years of school. Putting a child in day care
for more than their early years of life can greatly affect the way they grow up. If a child isn t
given much care and discipline from their parents they can grow up to have more behavioral
issues than a child who spent most of their time with their parents growing up. Another negative
impact of daycare is less bonding time between a mother and her child. This is very important in
the early years of a child s life. Children enrolled in daycare for long periods of time miss out on
the bonding with their mother. Babies become extremely to their mother s because they are their
primary caregivers. It is necessary that a child

The Effect Of Color On Testing Results
The Effect of Color on Testing Results Introduction Our experiment focused on testing scores.
We wanted to see whether the color of ink that was used on a test would affect a student s
performance on that test. We chose to conduct this experiment in the Sterling C. Evans Library to
get a wide variety of students to take the tests since it is the largest and most central library on
campus. We felt that this way the best way to attempt to limit the other variables that could affect
our results. Our hypothesis was that red ink would cause that student to do more poorly on the test
than the student would have done on a test with black ink. Our theory was that red ink would
remind students of wrong answers on previous assignments and create a feeling of stress and
anxiety. We attempted to answer this question by giving students of various genders, majors, and
ages a test of medium difficulty in red and black ink and analyzing the data to find out if their
scores correlated with the ink color. In order to determine whether there was a correlation between
ink colors and test scores, we measured the students number of wrong answers on the test, time
taken on the test, stress level, age, classification, gender, GPA, and college. We chose these
measures because they yielded numerical values that could be statistically assessed, and they
account for any other variables that might play into the correlation. We measured our results using
descriptive statistics, using numbers to

Essay On Dunkirk
When I found out that the latest project from director/writer Christopher Nolan titled Dunkirk was
only 107 minutes, I was stunned. Usually, his films are about 30 minutes short of hostage
situations. It s a bit odd how he chose his first two hour film in 15 years to be about the Dunkirk
evacuation. For you history buffs out there, Battle of Dunkirk took place in WWII in 1940, the
Allied forces of Europe fighting Nazi Germanyfinds themselves overrun in France and
desperately seeking escape. The problem is, the Germany forces are wreaking havoc on the
British Forces ships with precision air strikes and escape seems to be downright impossible
without the help of civilian s boats and some very crafty fighter pilots.
Right off the bat, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You don t know where the next shot is coming from and you can never relax because the pacing
of the movie comes like a tidal wave of dread. An interesting creative decision here is that even
though this is clearly WWII and we know who the enemy is, you never see a single German
soldier, not even a Nazi Germany flag is present. The closest you get to an enemy is the aerial
assault from many jets fighter. The absence of a physical enemy, it doesn t affect this survival film
one bit, if anything it strikes up more paranoia keeping the audience uneasy the way through.
If there is one downside Dunkirk it s that the constant sight of soldiers being attacked can be
repetitive and emotionally be draining for the viewer but simply put this is a story about unsung
heroes of WWII both with and without a gun. If the evacuation from Dunkirk had failed, history
would have a much scarier outlook than today. Christopher Nolan makes up for a bloated
disappointing Interstellar, with a film that excels in cinematography, sound, story, acting, and
relevance. Dunkirk is easily one of the best films of the years and it didn t take 2 hours and 45
minutes to do that...take

Myosin Skeletal Muscle Contraction
Myosin is a conventional term used to reference a group of molecular motors that translocate actin
filaments or translocate vesicles on fixed actin filaments in living organisms[1]. The human genome
also contains 24 unconventional Myosins divided into 11 distinct classes including some
nonmuscle Myosins[2]. This poster will cover in particular MyosinII which is responsible for
skeletal musclecontraction[1]
Myosin II has a molecular weight of 520 kDa contains two heavy chains, each roughly 2000 amino
acids in length[3]. Each of these heavy chains are comprised of an N terminal head domain and C
terminal tails that together take on a coiled coil morphology holding the two heavy chains
together[4]. Apart from the 2 heads and heavy chains Myosin ... Show more content on

Myosin can hydrolyze a single ATP in 30 seconds which is slow when compared to the 5 10 ATP
hydrolyzed every second when combined with Actin[7]. One Myosin head binds to one Actin
filament to hydrolyze ATP, this occurs due to the polarity of the Actin molecule[7][Img2]. After
completion of the hydrolyzation process and release of the products the usually weak bond
between Myosin and Actin is strengthened due to the release of Phosphate[6]. This change is
referred to as the Power Stroke as it pulls the Actin filament down the line, ADP is released and
the Myosin head detaches once a new ATP is secured so the process can repeat[1][Img2].
Rigor Mortis is a stiffening of the body caused in part by the lack of aerobic respiration[8]. In
death the body releases Calcium ions which interact with Actin and Myosin to contract muscles
throughout the body[8]. Due to the cessation of respiration the body is unable to efficiently
produce ATP[9]. This causes a shortage that denies Myosin and Actin the ability to disconnect,
Calcium ions are unable to be pumped back out of the muscle cell so the muscles remain tense and

James Bay Project Pros And Cons
April 30, 1971, Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa proposed plans to create the idea of Hydro
Quebec. This would be a state run electric company, taking a hydro electric strategy that would dam
many Northern Quebec rivers and in turn open the opportunity for thousands of jobs. It would also
open the opportunity for Quebec to get a new trade base for Quebec to surplus power for export and
would attract investment in exposed industries. In 1973, the James Bay Project was initiated, which
indicated the damming of many rivers and flooding the surrounding areas. Since then, it became

If they flood the river to make unnatural lakes, it damage the delicate wildlife. The water contains
mercury poison so it affects the aquatic animals and those consuming the aquatic animals. If anyone
eats it, it can cause health issues to them. Although, according to my research Northeastern Canada
has, per unit of surface area, more flowing water than almost anywhere else on the globe. Due to
the numerous rivers that flow into the James Bay and Hudson Bay, this can potentially increase
economic growth. Since 1963, the plans of this project were started. The mission was to
reconstruct the natural waterways into the dams and reservoirs to produce electric power for
Canada and New England. When Europeans were first established to Northern America, the Cree
and the Inuit were compelled to relocate further North every time a marketable resource discovery
was detected. In 1975, the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement between Hydro Quebec and
the Indians was reasoned to solve the issue between the two concerns. Nonetheless, the Cree and the
Inuit believe the agreement was violated. They did not execute the environmental effects
assessment. On the other side, Hydro Quebec says otherwise. They believe that it was implied in
the contract that the business could finsish what it had

Case Study Of Onions
Allium Ascalonicum Linn. (Liliaceae)
1.Introduction
1.1Onions
Onions are from the specie Allium of the family Alliaceae is the most historic cultivar of vegetables
that have been famous for their use in ornamentals, spices, vegetables and medications. An estimate
of about 700 different types of species are currently present and grown throughout the world and are
admired for their flavor, easy growth and extended shelf life. It is important to note that all the
species are close in bio chemical, phytochemical contents whereas the form and taste differs. The
organoleptic properties are due to the rich content of sulfur compounds that other than organoleptic
properties contribute to anti oxidant and anti microbial activity. [1]
The two main categories of the underground bulb are:
Green Onion also called as Scallions
Dry Onion that are the mature adaptation of Green Onions.
The onions evolves in various colors, shape and flavors. However, when processed such as boiled
they change into translucent. Being seasonal, the onion are further classified as:

Having high water content they have thin and light colored skin thus have low shelf life and are
delicate. The flavor ranges from sweet to mild and are extensively used in Salads, Sandwiches etc.

This is because the bad handling results into the potential bulb decay, germination and hence

the shallot powder must be manufactured which is widely used as raw material in various
industries as Snack production, Seasoning for cooking and finally medications. Drying can be held
of the shallots by using Oven Dryers by the addition of Sodium Meta bisulphite as an anti browning
agents. However their use is limited due to increasing allergenic reactions.

Relationship Between Entrepreneurship And The Economic...
BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS
Introduction
This research seeks to establish the relationship between entrepreneurship and the economic
development in Saudi Arabia. Entrepreneurship is the process of managing, organizing and
developing a business venture in a competitive environment that is dynamic (Kuratko 2016 pp3).
An entrepreneur is an inventor, leader, innovator, and pioneer and most significantly, a performer.
The heart of a national advantage is often pegged on entrepreneurship. The operation of an
enterprise is within the entrepreneurship ecosystems that include governmental services and
programs that support startups and operational activities. Non governmental organizations (NGOs)
are also active in mentoring and advising entrepreneurs to ensure that their efforts and goals are
achievable. Naude (2010, p.108) articulate that the G20 summit held in 2008 highlighted the
importance of entrepreneurship in the world economic development.
Background and Management Problem Entrepreneurship activities support self employment which
in turn has an effect on the growth of productivity (Audretsch, 2007, p.64). A debate on whether
nations should adopt the self employment policy or strike a balance is always contented. Italy tried
the self employment model, and it proved to be inefficient for the development of the economy
(Santarelli and Vivarelli, 2007, p.460). Entrepreneurship also plays a role in the early development
of industries. It increases productivity through

The Most Important Aspects Of Family Values
Everyone has values that they consider to be the most important aspects of their life. For me, these
values are family and friendship. In many occasions, it is those who have less, but have strong
familial and friendship bonds that seem to be the happiest. Through family bonds and friendship,
we are able to have happy, fulfilling lives that money and success can not quite achieve. In the
CASL building, during the photowalk, I observed my surroundings to find the photos that I took. In
the photos I took, a Macbethposter and a quinceaГ±era, we can see why I feel that these bonds are
of utmost importance. The Macbeth poster shows that power comes with a price and cannot bring
true happinessthrough the facial expression and the skull being in the shape of a crown. While the
quinceaГ±era photo shows that having familyand friends surrounding you can bring you happiness.
However, the music videos that were viewed in class display different values from my own. In
these, the core values displayed are black empowerment and bringing awareness to discrimination
that the African American community face as a whole. Although these are vastly important, they
do not connect fully with my values.
In the first photo taken, we are able to see why family and friendship are the most significant
values. The photo is of a quinceaГ±era that is taking place at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic
Church. In the photo, we see the girl being blessed by the priest while all of her family and friends

Competitive Strategy Of Samsung
Samsung electronics has come a long way from being the world s leader in semiconductors to
becoming a top competitor in the mobile handheld industry. Samsung s dynamic capability
frameworks and resources allowed the company to gain competitive advantage and achieve growth
in many different markets. Some of these capabilities and resources that led Samsung s success
include; the ability to recognize opportunity through a visionary management team, intense
acquisition of technology and learning, product and process innovation, a fluid manufacturing and
assembly system and the ability to develop partnerships and joint ventures. In the midst of the
global financial crisis, the Korean currency s value, won, had fallen tremendously. Samsung s
management team saw this as an opportunity to start outsourcing from China, where they

The Relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice
In the 19th century, a controversy arose over what the true foundation and purpose for marriage
should be. The basis of this conflict was whether one should let reason or emotion be the guide of
their love life and if a balance between the two could be maintained. The relationship between
Elizabeth and Darcy in Jane Austen s book Pride and Prejudice depicts such a balance, thus
becoming the model for Austen s definition of a perfect couple and for true love. Their
relationship is neither solely based on a quest for money on Elizabeth s part or emotions that blind

When Elizabeth flatly turns down his marriage proposal, it startles Darcy into realizing just how
arrogant and assuming he has been. Soon, there is reconciliation between Darcy and Elizabeth
where each admits how much they have changed as a result of their earlier encounters. An
example of this is when Lady Catherine visits to insure the marriage between Darcy and
Elizabeth. She came in order to prevent it, but when Darcy hears the manner in which Elizabeth
answered Lady Catherine, he realizes that Elizabeth regards him differently. He saw that her
attitude of him had changed which prompted him to make his marriage proposal. Thus, we can
now see that Darcy and Elizabeth both have balance in their relationship because they are able to
reflect against each other and each is capable of undergoing a change. In the end, Darcy is
willing to marry into a family with three silly daughters, an embarrassing mother and is willing
to make Wickham his brother in law .It may be that he is more easygoing about other people s
faults because he is now aware of his own. Elizabeth and Darcy s relationship is contrasted with
the other couples in the novel. It can especially be seen between the relationship Mr. and Mrs.
Bennet have. The sensible characters in the novel accept the standard of intelligence and sensitivity
and their relationships are determined by it. Mr. Bennet cannot be happy with his wife because he

Suicide bombers, rebel groups, minefield clearers, and soldiers are words used to describe these

that husband and wife don t express their emotions for each other but in it doesn t mean they don t
have the emotions or feelings. Though they don t express themselves apparently, but they keep a
strong intimacy, attachment for each other which is beyond the limitation. But in the case of Mr.
and Mrs. Das, we see that they are quite frank, behave with their children like an elder brother and
sister, not like parents. On the apparent level they have great intimacy but as the story unfolds, it
becomes clear that they lack the emotional attachment especially from the side of Mrs. Das as she
is suffering from a guilt consciousness with which Mr. Das is completely unaware of. She even
finds Mr. Kapasi as a suitable person to talk about her past instead of her husband. Interestingly
enough, the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Das was not an arrange marriage, rather Mrs. Das had fallen
in love with Mr. Das at a young age and later they got married with the permission of their
respective families but it can t be called a typical arranged marriage. Even Mrs. Das frankly talks to
Mr. Kapasi about her sexual relation with Mr. Das. This was quite unusual for a person like Mr.

The Rising Cost Of Higher Education
The rising cost of higher education is a topic of large concern today. As tuition prices continue to
grow at a quicker pace than housing prices, consumer prices and average hourly wages, it is
becoming harder and harder for the average American family to afford going to college. What
factors have been driving this large rise in tuition prices? This thesis aims to set up a supply and
demandframework to analyze the various forces that may be driving the price of higher educationto
rise above the Consumer Price Index over time. After defining long run supply and demand for
the higher education market, this thesis addresses economy wide factors and summarizes the
findings of Robert Archibald and David Feldman in Why Does College Cost So Much?. Next,
this thesis examines higher education specific factors and specifically tests the hypothesis: The
long run supply curve for higher educations is theoretically vertical. The inability for supply to
meet the increasing demand for higher education results in a supply and demand imbalance that
drives up the price of higher education. After looking at both economy wide and higher
education specific factors, it is apparent that slow productivity growth and large wage increases
for professors (cost disease) and an unresponsive total enrollment (supply) in the face of rising
demand are largely driving the increase in the price of higher education. In order to curb this
rising prices, his thesis will offer a few policy implications and

Religious Factors Have A Great Deal Of Influence On...
Religious factors have had a great deal of influence on politics in Latin American countries. In most
countries religion has helped to set the value structure of their society by helping to frame what the
citizens should expect out of their lives and what they should expect from the government. Today
here are a variety of religions practiced in Latin America including Catholicism, Protestantism,
Voodoo, SanterГa, Judaism, as well as indigenous religions. In order to combat religion s influence
on Latin American politics the anti clericalismmovement began in colonial times. Anti clericalism
is defined as the opposition to the clergy for its real or alleged influence in both political and social
affairs (Britannica, 2009). It should be noted that although anti clericalism is often associated with
anti Catholicism, anti Christianity, anti deism, irreligiosity, and atheism they are not the same.
Butler (2009) noted that we could hold the Catholic responsible for encouraging the association
between anti clericalism and anti Catholicism to their followers. Secularism is also often
associated with anti clericalism, which rejects all forms of religion in civil affairs. Fallaw (2009)
notes that it is hard to tell where anti clericalism and secularism began and end. According to
Bantjes, 2009 anti clericalism s target was the privileged status of a clerical caste who are viewed
as hypocritical and immoral. Historically religion and politics have been intertwined in government

Jane Austen Persuasion Analysis
Austen s creative energies all of her life. In this particular novel, most is based on character Anne
Elliots love life, she had been too dependent on time alone; no aid had been given in change of
place, (Austen 109). Persuasion, like Austen s other novels, was praised for its realistic depiction of
character and society in the time written. In her introduction to the Signet publication, Margaret
Drabble praises its strong anti romantic tendencies, its unexpected generosities, and its welcoming
of the possibility of a new order. (World Literature Criticism). These scholars have helped cement
the novels reputation as a literary classic. Adding on, its romance parts create a strong base of the
mood of the story. In Chapter seven, Anne Elliot describes, actually looking round, ready to fall in
love with all the speed which a clear head and quick taste could allow, (Austen 154). She had no
change of thought in who she wanted throughout the entire novel. In life, she is referring to how it
looks to be rather than how it actually is in the many ups and downs you go through before finding
your true love.
In conclusion, these professionals that have criticised not only Persuasion, but many other novels of
Jane Austen s work, have created an image for her novels. Previously stated, many of her books are
based on love and marriage, which meant the most to her.

The Financials For Clipboard Company

use when addressing factors that can cause the company to continue making profits or to fail.
Currently, the company offers three technological devices specifically tablets under the names X5,
X6, and X7. The three products have been in the market for different times as they were
developed and introduced into the market at various times. X7 is the youngest product and
apparently retails at the least price. However, it has not picked as expected in the market. The
primary company s objective is to maximize revenues by varying the prices of its commodities and
undertaking research and development. However, the most beneficial strategy on the... Show more

However, at 2015, the product will have reached shakeout stage, and it will have increasingly
declining new customers. When the price is lowered to $420, and R D for the product lowered
to 25% then, the tablet will perform better than its competitors in the market. At this time, the
total sales will be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that
would mean that the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default
run profitability. On the other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and
R D to 40% it would mean that the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other
competing tablets in the market. In that case, it would call for a decision on the side of the
customer based on their loyalty for them to purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization
will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014 and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. If the company will
increase the price further to $470 and increase R D to 45%, then tablet X6 will be less expensive
for customers to buy than competing tablets. With that change, the company will make sales of
2, 337, 247 in 2014 and 1, 180 751 in 2015. The reason for the decline will be because the product
will have reached the shakeout stage where the number of new customers will progressively
decline (Calvin, 2002). Following the analysis above, the best strategy for tablet X6 is to increase

Determining G on an Incline Essay
Determining g on an Incline
Lab #1
Theory: During the early part of the seventeenth century, Galileo experimentally examined the
concept of acceleration. One of his goals was to measure the acceleration due to gravity, or the
acceleration of freely falling objects. Unfortunately, his timing devices were not precise enough to
measure the free fall time directly. He decided to dilute gravity by using fluids, inclined planes, and
pendulums.
Galileo s idea of diluting gravity using inclined planes worked like this: the acceleration of a rolling
cart on an inclined plane is small, therefore is easy to measure; when the angle of the incline gets
bigger, the acceleration will get bigger; by measuring the dependence of the acceleration on ... Show

This was done moving the hand quickly out the path. Using logger pro, indicated which portion
was to be used by dragging across the graph to indicate the starting and ending times. Then the
linear button was clicked to perform the linear regression of the selected data. The Linear Button
was used to determine the slope of the velocity vs. time graph, only using the portion of the data
for times when the cart was freely rolling. We found the acceleration of the cart from the fitted
line. Record the value in the data table. These steps where repeated 5 mores times. Measured the
length of the incline, x which is the distance between the two points of the ramp. Measure the
height, h, the height of the book(s). The last two measurements was used determine the angle of
the incline. Raise the incline by placing a second book under the end. Adjust the book so that
distance, x, is the same as the previous reading. Repeated these steps with 3, 4 and 5 books.

The greater the incline and greater the height, the greater the acceleration of the cart. This
experiment measured the acceleration of a cart moving down a sloped track in order to find a
relation between the acceleration of an object and the sine of the angle at which it is moving. There
were three separate experimental stages, with the variable being the angle at which the

The Threat of Human Cloning Essay
The human genome is constructed of four simple chromosomes, each of which is represented by a
single capital letter; G, A, C, and T. These simple chemicals are the building blocks of life, and act
as the blueprints for one of the most complicated biological structures in the known universe; the
human. Strands of these chromosomes billions of letters long provide a uniqueness that guarantees
individuality in a swiftly growing world. Is not individuality after all one of the most highly
acclaimed American ideals? Does it not compose the backbone of freedom, our country s founding
doctrine? It most assuredly does, and individuality therefore, is one of the most integral parts of
humansociety. The importance of this ideal dictates that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cloning cannot be tolerated in society anywhere, not because of the ramifications on the individual
countries and their cultures, but more importantly because of the mental state that a clone would
inevitably have to cope with. The ability to clone humans is in essence the ability to steal a piece
of someone s individuality, which we have already closely associated as being a prime evil. The
ancient philosopher Rene Descartes stated That in order to understand the passions of the soul its
functions must be distinguished from those of the body (Hallman, 40). That is, the soul and body
must have distinctions, and this I agree with for the sake of understanding the mechanics and
interactions of the two. However after this has been established the line must be drawn.
George Johnson, believes that each person, whether they be a clone or not, should understandably
have his own soul created by the composition of previous thoughts and experiences (Nussbaum,
Sunstein 69). The example we are provided with references the unique nature of twins. According
to this reasoning, twins grow up together, composed of the same genetic makeup, but because of
personal experiences result in different persons (69). If this truly is the case then cloning does not
accomplish what it is intended for in the first place. Likewise he argues, clones who share exact
genome matches will also become different people as a

Why Seat Belts Should Have Seatbelts
Seat belts should be required on school buses for a lot of foreseen reasons. Seatbelts can make
school buses so much safer in so many different ways. One reason why seat belts should be
required on school buses is that it will save students lives. According to an article released by the
Today show About 440,000 schoolbuses carry 24 million kids each and every day during the school
year, which can be dangerous if the busgets in a crash. Undoubtedly, school buses should be
required to have seat belts if 24 million kids ride school buses each day. Furthermore, another
reason is it will get students to stay seated on the school buses . When students do not stay seated
on the bus and they are in awkward positions and in the aisle they are more prone to facing severe
injuries, maybe even, death . Adding on, if students have seatbelts on, they will have to sit down
because they can stand up with a seatbelt on. Going even further, cameras can be on school buses
just like the cameras on the school buses in Glenwood Community School District. This will give a
higher chance of students getting punished and it can even result in a suspension off the school bus

if the bus gets into a wreck because when the police and the investigation team comes out and

Describe The Activity Of Human Amylase
Amylase is an enzyme that is responsible for splitting up food that contain high quantities of
carbohydrates and starch into simple and smaller groups of sugar. Amylase can be found in plants,
humans, bacteria, fungi and other mammals.
Human amylase is an example of an organism that produces alpha amylase and can be found in the
pancreatic juice in the pancreas and the saliva in the mouth. Both the pancreatic juice and the saliva
play important roles in the digestive system. The amylase found in the pancreas breaks down starch
into maltose and the amylase found in the saliva breaks down starch into glucose. The activity of
human amylase is very sensitive to temperature and pH so it is very important to maintain the

Social Media And Public Administration
In their article Social Media and Public Administration: Theoretical Dimensions and Introduction to
the Symposium, published in 2011 in Administrative Theory Praxis Vol. 33, Iss. 3, pp. 325 340,
authors Thomas A. Bryer and Staci M. Zavatarro introduce the rising trend of social media use in
public administration, in both government agencies and nonprofits. As public administration
scholars and practitioners themselves, the authors sought to analyze these trends further, and to
explore more comprehensively how social media technologies are utilized in public organizations,
as well as these methods outcomes. The article is laid out as follows: First, the authors attempt to
define social media; second, they identify common challenges and obstacles that public
organizations face when utilizing social media tools ; and finally, they identify areas for future
research. The authors hope that ultimately their research will provide assistance to those public
administration practitioners interested in successfully utilizing social media. The authors first
task in their research was to come up with a mutually agreed upon and easy to understand
definition of social media. For a starting or base definition, the authors cite the Federal Web
Managers Council (FWMC), a group of federal government specialists assigned to develop best
practices for federal agency Web sites and general online presence. Many information technology

the water, the mass of the potato will decrease and the cells will become plasmolysed. In a low
concentration of sucrose the cells will become turgid.
Preliminary work
I have based my prediction on a prelimary experiment we did amongst our class, this experiment
involved us placing potato chips into various concentrations of sucrose solution and observing the
potato s change in mass according to the solution they were placed in.
Carrying out a preliminary experiment helped me to decide how long to leave the potato chips in

The Concept Of Fashion And Fashion
The concept of style, pertaining to clothes and fashion is something embedded into our everyday
lives. While many pay no attention to it, and others simply fall into the category of those who
not aware of the importance it has in our everyday lives, this does not take away from its
underlying and quiet niche in our society. The way you chose to dress and the way you do this
largely depends on your own life. For example, an older, retired gentleman will have a different
style and taste than a younger teenager. Essentially, the conceptof style comes down to three key
components: the ability to practice self expression, increasing self esteem, and dressing for
success. Before we can understand the concept that is style, it is important to understand another
concept intertwined with style. This concept is best expressed by the president of Well Said,
Inc., Darlene Price, who says, Let s be clear: In the big picture of ultimate reality, what you wear
neither defines who you are as a person nor determines your value as a human being. Essentially,
the clothes and what a user chooses to wear is not what will define them, but it is rather the user
who defines what they are wearing, as the person makes the clothes, and not vice versa. The reason
behind this is many seem to forget that the user of the clothes must ultimately dress for themselves
and do however they please with their style, and not attempt to conform to societal norms or to
anyone that is attempting to pressure

Alexis De Tocqueville Summary
Alexis de Tocqueville was a French sociologist and a political theorist. He grew up in France,
however, traveled to America to study the prison system and returned to France with a broader
knowledge and observation from the United States. He condensed his finding in a book called
Democracy in America, which he published in 1835. In the book, he showed how he admired the
individualism and the stability of the economy, yet questioned its embrace of slavery and treatment
of Native Americans. Chapter 13, in Alexis de Tocqueville
, He compares Europe s government to
the United States. He talks about how it is hard to make the comparison due to Europe having
democracy and aristocracy. Having both of these forms of government makes it difficult to isolate
the democracy in Europe. However, in the United States democracy is the only form, making it
easy to see how it works and the effects it has. Tocqueville is trying to make the comparison due to
France being driven blindly to democracy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of No Witchcraft For Sale By Doris Lessing
Can t Trust Anyone
(An analysis of No Witchcraft For Sale by Doris Lessing and it s 3 messages) Racism is the main
culprit for fighting among not only American citizens, but those in foreign countries. The issue has
progressed but still has a great deal of improving to do. In recent years and months many have
begun take stands against racism and the unfair ways they have been treated. Doris Lessing wrote
novels and short stories that challenged the mainstream beliefs of those in Southern Africa and
England. Mariam Berkley, a biographer explained, Lessing s life has been a challenge to her belief
that people cannot resist the currents of their time, as she fought against the biological and cultural
imperatives. Her literature was very controversial because the topics she discussed brought in many
different perspectives to problems in society. Her thoughts mainly tie in with racism and sexism. In
Lessing s No Witchcraft for Sale she explains the messages of white people having control over
blacks, the selflessness of the slave, and ways to deal with peer pressure. In No Witchcraft for
Sale Doris Lessing explains the message of white people having complete control over blacks in
what they are and are not able to do. In the early 1900s it was not uncommon to see blacks owned
by whites. Blacks inability to get an education, live on their own, and get a job prohibit them
from being able to be independent. Many had the desire to become educated, but were never
able to do because of the time period. This is still a problem today, whites thinking they are
somehow above blacks. Blogger Karen Fleshman explains her observations about race by
posting, Americans are not at all on the same page when it comes to race. It is obvious that
things have improved, but there is still a long way to go before racism will ever solved; if that is
ever accomplished. Throughout No Witchcraft for Sale, Lessing uses the influence of the parents
on the children. Teddy Farquar played with the servants son and referred to him laughingly saying,
He s only a black boy, (line 49). Even at the young age as both of these children they had already
been taught the difference in skin color and what that meant. This idea bothered Lessing and

Discuss The Impact Of Divorce On Children
According to Virginia Rutter, there has been an ongoing argument of whether or not divorce is a
good thing (Rutter 159). An argument is made that the decline of the impact of divorce on children
is due to the number of children involved, decreasing from 1.34 children to less than one child
(Rutter 159). However, the statement of the impact of divorcebeing lessened due to less children
being caught in the middle appears to be intellectually disingenuous. Regardless of their being less
children, the children that are involved from the divorce will still be impacted greatly. Nevertheless,
Rutter is correct in saying that there are some sets of circumstances where divorce is the better
option. When my father divorced my mother, they decided that

Alienance And Alienation In Yolanda s College Life
Yolanda s college life provides an in depth experience of how by resisting the adoption of social
mores and cultural practices of the time, like her parents mandated, resulted in her feeling
alienated. Although Yolanda is Americanized and has been living in America for almost a
decade, she feels out of place as a foreigner in a room full of Americans because she believes she,
...couldn t keep [men] interested. Why I couldn t keep them interested was pretty simple: I
wouldn t sleep with them. By the time I went to college. it was the late sixties, and everyone was
sleeping around as a matter of principle... I felt profoundly out of place. (Alvarez 87). Yolanda
did not go to the lengths other girls went to be attractive and though she could attract the attention
of boys, she did not want to sleep with them. This shows how sexuality is used against her, as a
Dominican Catholic, during this time to determine the difference between acceptance and
alienation of a person. Yolanda s refusal to sleep around as a matter of principle shows how she did
not easily adopt the expected social moresof the time which result in her feeling out of place.
Unable to completely assimilate due to feeling that she is betraying her identity, Yolanda blames
her immigrant origins that do not allow her to understand her peers and conform to their way of
life. Developing her narrative, Yolanda describes her life five years later after leaving the college

How Does Globalization Affect The Economy Of Sydney
As a result of this economic drive, an influence was evident on the spatial economic makeup of
Sydney. The unemployment map of the city was distributed into two opposing fragments,
illustrative of contemporaneous social geography. The highest rates of unemployment were marked
in the western and south western suburbs, while the lowest rates occupied the northern suburbs. In
place of this, the service sector, specifically finance, business, retail, community service,
professional, and wholesale, sprouted. However, this was not sufficient to counterbalance the
unemployment rates. In 1996, the services industry comprised a large 40% of employment, a step
up from just 24% in 1971 (Fagan Webber 1999), of which was concentrating in the inner cityand
neighbouring regions (Forster 2006). In observation of these dynamics, the extent to which the

Achievements Of The Tokugawa Period
Tokugawa Period by Luka Crane
The Tokugawa Period, also known as the Edo Period, ranging from 1603 1867 was the final period
of traditional Japan. It was said to promote internal peace, political stability and economic growth
and was under the Shogunate (military dictatorship) created by Tokugawa Ieyasu. During this
period of Japanese history, there were three main contributors to its successes and failures.
Tokugawa Ieyasu shaped the period by creating supremacy over the whole nation, the agricultural
flaws of the land opened new and innovative doors for food and culture and the Bushido code
developed an honourable way of life and created hard working social classes for many years.
Therefore, the three aspects of key individuals, geography and Bushido was significant to the
growth and success of Japan.
There were many key individuals that helped shape the Tokugawa period, but the most important of
them all was Tokugawa Ieyasu. He impacted the period so heavily that the period is named after
him. Ieyasu was the first shogun and founded Shogunate which is a military dictatorship. This was
the start of the shogun and its immense power. As stated by Britannica, As shogun, Ieyasu achieved
hegemony over the entire country by balancing the power of potentially hostile domains (tozama)
with strategically placed allies (fudai) and collateral houses (shimpan). (Encyclopedia Britannica,
2017). This shows that he carefully thought through his plans. After he achieved this, he later

Madison started out as an iffy candidate for the busy urban center it is today. Based on the
swamplands of southern Wisconsin, Madison was called Four Lake Country and one of only two
US cities to be created on an isthmus (the other being Seattle, Washington). Throughout this essay

Theories Of Criminality And Delinquency
Crime has been around since the creation of man, and specifically, since the fall of humanity in
biblical times. Since then, people have been trying to explain what causes an individual to commit
a crime. Although the Bible explicitly confirms the origin of crime is the sinful nature of man,
many have argued as to the cause of criminality. During the eighteenth century, the argument for
criminality and delinquency was the fall of man, as the Book of Genesis explains, after Eve ate
from the forbidden tree, in Chapter 3. The first criminal act follows the fall of man, in Genesis 4:8
(NIV) where Now Cain said to his brother Abel, Let s go out to the field. While they were in the
field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Since then, human beings have committed
atrocities against other human beings, and continue to commit acts of violence against others to...

Moore starts with the definition of criminology and then proceeds to discuss five categories of
psychological theories related to understanding criminality and delinquency (Moore, 2011). The
methods used by Moore include a database search using keywords, and consultation with an expert
in the field. The problem with the method Moore used is the limited categories of psychological
theories in her article. Since there are so many different theories attempting to explain criminality
and delinquency, Moore excluded those theories addressing crime and delinquency from a
sociological perspective, and focused on the psychological theories because the psychological
theories tend to address crime and delinquency at the individual level, primarily identifying
individual differences that lead to criminal behavior (Moore, 2011, p. 228). The psychological
theories Moore discusses are Learning Theories, Intelligence Theories, Personality Trait Theories,
Theories of Psychopathy, and Cognitive and Social Development

  • 2. The Impact Of Catalytic Clothing On The Environment Essay Pollution is one of the biggest global killers, affecting over 100 million people. The air pollution in Beijing, China, is so severe that it s equivalent to smoking 21 cigarettes a day. People are always trying to find new ways to improve the increasing build up of pollution, and most recently this is being done through fashion. The idea of saving the planet is not new to the fashion industry, and many designers and merchandisers have been vigorously looking for ways to make sure their garments have less of a negative environmental effect. Catalytic Clothing shows that just by simply wearing a garment we can stop the increase of deadly pollution, which I will be looking into further in this report to show the outcomes which could be made if commercially produced. This report also aims to show how Catalytic Clothing could having an effect on the of the environment. (re word) This idea is collective by the two founders of Catalytic Clothing: Professor Tony Ryan, a scientist from the University of Sheffield, and Professor Helen Storey, a designer and artist from the London College of Fashion. I will be looking more into Helen Storeys other work and how her environmentally friendly ideas and creations have had an impact on not only the growing sustainable fashion industry, but also improving the environment. • 3. The Effects Of Antidepressant Pills On Teenagers And... Jacqueline Mendez Mrs. Kehrmeyer AP English 9 February 2016 Teenagers and Antidepressants In recent discussions of antidepressant pills a controversial issue has been whether doctors should prescribe antidepressants to teenagers. Antidepressant pills are prescribed to individuals who suffer from a condition called Major Depression Disorder, labeled MDD for abbreviation. Major Depressive Disorder is a mental disorder characterized by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self esteem and by loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. The objectives of antidepressant pills are to stabilize, and normalize the abnormal low levels of brain chemicals for those who suffer from MDD. On the other hand, some argue that antidepressants are harmful and do a disadvantage to teenagers, therefore should not be prescribed to them. However, others argue that the pills are not harmful and in some cases the strong need of antidepressants outweigh the risks the pills might provide. Antidepressants prevent teenagers from recuperating on their own and prevents them from learning how to cope with conflicts thus, they should not be prescribed. Depression results in symptoms such as sadness, it affects a person s emotions and leads to both emotional and physical problems. The antidepressant pills are meant to help the brain recuperate and adjust to normality. The reason why people reconsider taking the pills in the first place is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Is Frederick The Great Effective Frederick II or Frederick the Great was a monarch of Prussia that reigned from 1740 to 1786. Another monarch which reigned during Frederick the Great s reign was Maria Theresa, of the Hapsburg family, who reigned from 1740 to 1780 over Austria. She came into power because her father, Charles VI, created a document called the Pragmatic Sanction. The Pragmatic Sanction is a document that other monarchs signed to allow Maria Theresa to inherit the Hapsburg land. However after Charles died, not all the countries agreed with the Pragmatic Sanction. This lead to conflict between Prussia and Austria. Because of this conflict, historians debate which ruler was more effective and powerful. Frederick the Great is a more effective and powerful ruler because he won several wars against Austria, he had a stronger alliance with Russia, improved Prussia s domestic affairs, and succeeded in foreign affairs. Some consider Maria Theresa worthy of the title and even a more effective and powerful ruler than Frederick II because of her achievements in the arts and architecture. Maria Theresa... He improved domestic affairs by making Prussia a world power by increasing their rankings, and by strengthening the arts and literature. Historians can debate otherwise but Frederick II is truly deserving of his title of the great. His entire reign justifies and proves he is in fact Frederick the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Comparison Of My Fair Lady And My Fair Lady After reading Ovid s original myth Pygmalion and Galatea , Shaw was disappointed with it and decided to take pen to paper and create his own version of the story, thus Shaw s Pygmalion was created. The story follows the quest of a young girl, Eliza Doolittle, to transform into a lady because of a bet made by Henry Higgins, a gentleman who is knowledgeable in phonetics. Eliza is successfully able to shape herself into a lady however, the book does not end with happy union of Higgins and Eliza rather a deep animosity between them. In George Cukors musical My Fair Lady diverges from Shaw s original play, and has Higgins and Eliza end up together. Therefore ending of My Fair Lady is a vulgar travesty of the play s design, as Nicholas Grene writes because it undermines Eliza s transformation and it is not a logical ending. Eliza s transformation is something that happens of the course of the play in order for that transformation to hold true Eliza needed to decide not to marry Higgins. Shaw even calls the play a romance in five acts because of Eliza s transformation. After the ambassador s garden party, the bet is deemed a success because the host and the guests of the party believe that she is a lady. Even Nepommuck, Higgins apprentice who has surpassed him, firmly believes that Eliza produces an air of divine light... [and that] She is a princess (Shaw 72). The host and hostess both agree on this, which is meant to signify the success of Eliza s transformation. However, Eliza s success at the garden party is not the true ending of her transformation. The true ending of her transformation is when Eliza stands up for herself and defies Higgins thus becoming a true lady. During the entirety of Eliza s six months of training under Higgins, he treats her atrociously. Upon her arrival, he threatens to kick her out and assaulted her with a barrage of insults such as squashed cabbage leaf and guttersnipe . He did not treat Eliza like a lady, as a result, she did not feel like a lady. On the other hand, Pickering always treated her like a lady and she gained self respect from that. Eliza explains that the difference between a flower girl and a maiden is how she s treated because Pickering always treats ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Attitude Forming Through Day Care Odalys Escalante Mr. Cook English IV, Per. 4 5 October 2014 Attitude Forming Through Day Care Asking how day care affects children s behavior and development is almost like asking how parenting affects children s behavior and development. Day care has many effects, some negative and some positive. These effects depend on the quality of the care, the type of care, and the amount of time spent in caring, just like parenting. Children spending more than ten hours a week in the care of someone other than the mother has a long reach. Time spent in day care at a young age negatively affects a child s social behavioral development. About 11 million children under the age of 6 in America are put in day care. Day care is used by many working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Day care has a huge impact on the way a child behaves growing up. According to the article, Study Ties Day Care to Some Behavior Problems, The more time that kids spent in day care, the more likely their sixth grade teachers were to report problem behaviors such as getting in fights, being disobedient in school and arguing a lot, according to the largest study of child care and development ever conducted in the United States. Children in day care may be taught independent thinking which could be a huge issue for teachers. They are more likely to be aggressive, angry and uncooperative in their early years of school. Putting a child in day care for more than their early years of life can greatly affect the way they grow up. If a child isn t given much care and discipline from their parents they can grow up to have more behavioral issues than a child who spent most of their time with their parents growing up. Another negative impact of daycare is less bonding time between a mother and her child. This is very important in the early years of a child s life. Children enrolled in daycare for long periods of time miss out on the bonding with their mother. Babies become extremely to their mother s because they are their primary caregivers. • 7. The Effect Of Color On Testing Results The Effect of Color on Testing Results Introduction Our experiment focused on testing scores. We wanted to see whether the color of ink that was used on a test would affect a student s performance on that test. We chose to conduct this experiment in the Sterling C. Evans Library to get a wide variety of students to take the tests since it is the largest and most central library on campus. We felt that this way the best way to attempt to limit the other variables that could affect our results. Our hypothesis was that red ink would cause that student to do more poorly on the test than the student would have done on a test with black ink. Our theory was that red ink would remind students of wrong answers on previous assignments and create a feeling of stress and anxiety. We attempted to answer this question by giving students of various genders, majors, and ages a test of medium difficulty in red and black ink and analyzing the data to find out if their scores correlated with the ink color. In order to determine whether there was a correlation between ink colors and test scores, we measured the students number of wrong answers on the test, time taken on the test, stress level, age, classification, gender, GPA, and college. We chose these measures because they yielded numerical values that could be statistically assessed, and they account for any other variables that might play into the correlation. We measured our results using descriptive statistics, using numbers to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Essay On Dunkirk When I found out that the latest project from director/writer Christopher Nolan titled Dunkirk was only 107 minutes, I was stunned. Usually, his films are about 30 minutes short of hostage situations. It s a bit odd how he chose his first two hour film in 15 years to be about the Dunkirk evacuation. For you history buffs out there, Battle of Dunkirk took place in WWII in 1940, the Allied forces of Europe fighting Nazi Germanyfinds themselves overrun in France and desperately seeking escape. The problem is, the Germany forces are wreaking havoc on the British Forces ships with precision air strikes and escape seems to be downright impossible without the help of civilian s boats and some very crafty fighter pilots. Right off the bat, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You don t know where the next shot is coming from and you can never relax because the pacing of the movie comes like a tidal wave of dread. An interesting creative decision here is that even though this is clearly WWII and we know who the enemy is, you never see a single German soldier, not even a Nazi Germany flag is present. The closest you get to an enemy is the aerial assault from many jets fighter. The absence of a physical enemy, it doesn t affect this survival film one bit, if anything it strikes up more paranoia keeping the audience uneasy the way through. If there is one downside Dunkirk it s that the constant sight of soldiers being attacked can be repetitive and emotionally be draining for the viewer but simply put this is a story about unsung heroes of WWII both with and without a gun. If the evacuation from Dunkirk had failed, history would have a much scarier outlook than today. Christopher Nolan makes up for a bloated disappointing Interstellar, with a film that excels in cinematography, sound, story, acting, and relevance. Dunkirk is easily one of the best films of the years and it didn t take 2 hours and 45 minutes to do that...take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Myosin Skeletal Muscle Contraction Myosin is a conventional term used to reference a group of molecular motors that translocate actin filaments or translocate vesicles on fixed actin filaments in living organisms[1]. The human genome also contains 24 unconventional Myosins divided into 11 distinct classes including some nonmuscle Myosins[2]. This poster will cover in particular MyosinII which is responsible for skeletal musclecontraction[1] Myosin II has a molecular weight of 520 kDa contains two heavy chains, each roughly 2000 amino acids in length[3]. Each of these heavy chains are comprised of an N terminal head domain and C terminal tails that together take on a coiled coil morphology holding the two heavy chains together[4]. Apart from the 2 heads and heavy chains Myosin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Myosin can hydrolyze a single ATP in 30 seconds which is slow when compared to the 5 10 ATP hydrolyzed every second when combined with Actin[7]. One Myosin head binds to one Actin filament to hydrolyze ATP, this occurs due to the polarity of the Actin molecule[7][Img2]. After completion of the hydrolyzation process and release of the products the usually weak bond between Myosin and Actin is strengthened due to the release of Phosphate[6]. This change is referred to as the Power Stroke as it pulls the Actin filament down the line, ADP is released and the Myosin head detaches once a new ATP is secured so the process can repeat[1][Img2]. Rigor Mortis is a stiffening of the body caused in part by the lack of aerobic respiration[8]. In death the body releases Calcium ions which interact with Actin and Myosin to contract muscles throughout the body[8]. Due to the cessation of respiration the body is unable to efficiently produce ATP[9]. This causes a shortage that denies Myosin and Actin the ability to disconnect, Calcium ions are unable to be pumped back out of the muscle cell so the muscles remain tense and the body ... An estimate of about 700 different types of species are currently present and grown throughout the world and are admired for their flavor, easy growth and extended shelf life. It is important to note that all the species are close in bio chemical, phytochemical contents whereas the form and taste differs. BUSINESS RESEARCH METHODS Introduction This research seeks to establish the relationship between entrepreneurship and the economic development in Saudi Arabia. Entrepreneurship is the process of managing, organizing and developing a business venture in a competitive environment that is dynamic (Kuratko 2016 pp3). An entrepreneur is an inventor, leader, innovator, and pioneer and most significantly, a performer. The heart of a national advantage is often pegged on entrepreneurship. The operation of an enterprise is within the entrepreneurship ecosystems that include governmental services and programs that support startups and operational activities. Non governmental organizations (NGOs) are also active in mentoring and advising entrepreneurs to ensure that their efforts and goals are achievable. Naude (2010, p.108) articulate that the G20 summit held in 2008 highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the world economic development. Background and Management Problem Entrepreneurship activities support self employment which in turn has an effect on the growth of productivity (Audretsch, 2007, p.64). A debate on whether nations should adopt the self employment policy or strike a balance is always contented. Italy tried the self employment model, and it proved to be inefficient for the development of the economy (Santarelli and Vivarelli, 2007, p.460). • 17. The Most Important Aspects Of Family Values Everyone has values that they consider to be the most important aspects of their life. For me, these values are family and friendship. In many occasions, it is those who have less, but have strong familial and friendship bonds that seem to be the happiest. Through family bonds and friendship, we are able to have happy, fulfilling lives that money and success can not quite achieve. In the CASL building, during the photowalk, I observed my surroundings to find the photos that I took. In the photos I took, a Macbethposter and a quinceaГ±era, we can see why I feel that these bonds are of utmost importance. The Macbeth poster shows that power comes with a price and cannot bring true happinessthrough the facial expression and the skull being in the shape of a crown. Samsung s dynamic capability frameworks and resources allowed the company to gain competitive advantage and achieve growth in many different markets. Some of these capabilities and resources that led Samsung s success include; the ability to recognize opportunity through a visionary management team, intense acquisition of technology and learning, product and process innovation, a fluid manufacturing and assembly system and the ability to develop partnerships and joint ventures. In the midst of the global financial crisis, the Korean currency s value, won, had fallen tremendously. Samsung s management team saw this as an opportunity to start outsourcing from China, where they manufactured LCDs and Mobiles for a fraction of the price. By 2011, Samsung had the largest Mobile share in China. They decided that by moving out they would understand the surrounding markets (Zahou, 2015). • 19. The Relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy in Pride and... The Relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice In the 19th century, a controversy arose over what the true foundation and purpose for marriage should be. The basis of this conflict was whether one should let reason or emotion be the guide of their love life and if a balance between the two could be maintained. The relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy in Jane Austen s book Pride and Prejudice depicts such a balance, thus becoming the model for Austen s definition of a perfect couple and for true love. Their relationship is neither solely based on a quest for money on Elizabeth s part or emotions that blind the couple from all other important aspects of life. When Elizabeth flatly turns down his marriage proposal, it startles Darcy into realizing just how arrogant and assuming he has been. Soon, there is reconciliation between Darcy and Elizabeth where each admits how much they have changed as a result of their earlier encounters. An example of this is when Lady Catherine visits to insure the marriage between Darcy and Elizabeth. She came in order to prevent it, but when Darcy hears the manner in which Elizabeth answered Lady Catherine, he realizes that Elizabeth regards him differently. He saw that her attitude of him had changed which prompted him to make his marriage proposal. Thus, we can now see that Darcy and Elizabeth both have balance in their relationship because they are able to reflect against each other and each is capable of undergoing a change. In the end, Darcy is willing to marry into a family with three silly daughters, an embarrassing mother and is willing to make Wickham his brother in law .It may be that he is more easygoing about other people s faults because he is now aware of his own. Elizabeth and Darcy s relationship is contrasted with the other couples in the novel. It can especially be seen between the relationship Mr. and Mrs. Bennet have. As tuition prices continue to grow at a quicker pace than housing prices, consumer prices and average hourly wages, it is becoming harder and harder for the average American family to afford going to college. What factors have been driving this large rise in tuition prices? This thesis aims to set up a supply and demandframework to analyze the various forces that may be driving the price of higher educationto rise above the Consumer Price Index over time. After defining long run supply and demand for the higher education market, this thesis addresses economy wide factors and summarizes the findings of Robert Archibald and David Feldman in Why Does College Cost So Much?. Next, this thesis examines higher education specific factors and specifically tests the hypothesis: The long run supply curve for higher educations is theoretically vertical. The inability for supply to meet the increasing demand for higher education results in a supply and demand imbalance that drives up the price of higher education. After looking at both economy wide and higher education specific factors, it is apparent that slow productivity growth and large wage increases for professors (cost disease) and an unresponsive total enrollment (supply) in the face of rising demand are largely driving the increase in the price of higher education. In order to curb this rising prices, his thesis will offer a few policy implications and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In most countries religion has helped to set the value structure of their society by helping to frame what the citizens should expect out of their lives and what they should expect from the government. Today here are a variety of religions practiced in Latin America including Catholicism, Protestantism, Voodoo, SanterГa, Judaism, as well as indigenous religions. In order to combat religion s influence on Latin American politics the anti clericalismmovement began in colonial times. Anti clericalism is defined as the opposition to the clergy for its real or alleged influence in both political and social affairs (Britannica, 2009). It should be noted that although anti clericalism is often associated with anti Catholicism, anti Christianity, anti deism, irreligiosity, and atheism they are not the same. Butler (2009) noted that we could hold the Catholic responsible for encouraging the association between anti clericalism and anti Catholicism to their followers. Secularism is also often associated with anti clericalism, which rejects all forms of religion in civil affairs. Fallaw (2009) notes that it is hard to tell where anti clericalism and secularism began and end. In this particular novel, most is based on character Anne Elliots love life, she had been too dependent on time alone; no aid had been given in change of place, (Austen 109). Persuasion, like Austen s other novels, was praised for its realistic depiction of character and society in the time written. In her introduction to the Signet publication, Margaret Drabble praises its strong anti romantic tendencies, its unexpected generosities, and its welcoming of the possibility of a new order. (World Literature Criticism). These scholars have helped cement the novels reputation as a literary classic. Adding on, its romance parts create a strong base of the mood of the story. In Chapter seven, Anne Elliot describes, actually looking round, ready to fall in love with all the speed which a clear head and quick taste could allow, (Austen 154). At this time, the total sales will be 1, 371, 992 in 2012, and 2, 316, 675 in 2013. However, according to SLP 3 that would mean that the company would have to reduce the production volume to achieve default run profitability. On the other hand, if the company increases the cost of X6 tablet to $450 and R D to 40% it would mean that the customers pay the same for the tablet as they pay for other competing tablets in the market. In that case, it would call for a decision on the side of the customer based on their loyalty for them to purchase the tablet. In so doing, the organization will register a sale volume of $1, 854, 036 in 2014 and $2, 337, 247 in 2015. One of his goals was to measure the acceleration due to gravity, or the acceleration of freely falling objects. Unfortunately, his timing devices were not precise enough to measure the free fall time directly. He decided to dilute gravity by using fluids, inclined planes, and pendulums. Galileo s idea of diluting gravity using inclined planes worked like this: the acceleration of a rolling cart on an inclined plane is small, therefore is easy to measure; when the angle of the incline gets bigger, the acceleration will get bigger; by measuring the dependence of the acceleration on ... Cloning cannot be tolerated in society anywhere, not because of the ramifications on the individual countries and their cultures, but more importantly because of the mental state that a clone would inevitably have to cope with. The ability to clone humans is in essence the ability to steal a piece of someone s individuality, which we have already closely associated as being a prime evil. The ancient philosopher Rene Descartes stated That in order to understand the passions of the soul its functions must be distinguished from those of the body (Hallman, 40). That is, the soul and body must have distinctions, and this I agree with for the sake of understanding the mechanics and interactions of the two. However after this has been established the line must be drawn. George Johnson, believes that each person, whether they be a clone or not, should understandably have his own soul created by the composition of previous thoughts and experiences (Nussbaum, Sunstein 69). The example we are provided with references the unique nature of twins. According to this reasoning, twins grow up together, composed of the same genetic makeup, but because of personal experiences result in different persons (69). If this truly is the case then cloning does not accomplish what it is intended for in the first place. Likewise he argues, clones who share exact genome matches will also become different people as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While many pay no attention to it, and others simply fall into the category of those who not aware of the importance it has in our everyday lives, this does not take away from its underlying and quiet niche in our society. The way you chose to dress and the way you do this largely depends on your own life. For example, an older, retired gentleman will have a different style and taste than a younger teenager. Essentially, the conceptof style comes down to three key components: the ability to practice self expression, increasing self esteem, and dressing for success. Before we can understand the concept that is style, it is important to understand another concept intertwined with style. This concept is best expressed by the president of Well Said, Inc., Darlene Price, who says, Let s be clear: In the big picture of ultimate reality, what you wear neither defines who you are as a person nor determines your value as a human being. The issue has progressed but still has a great deal of improving to do. In recent years and months many have begun take stands against racism and the unfair ways they have been treated. Doris Lessing wrote novels and short stories that challenged the mainstream beliefs of those in Southern Africa and England. Mariam Berkley, a biographer explained, Lessing s life has been a challenge to her belief that people cannot resist the currents of their time, as she fought against the biological and cultural imperatives. Her literature was very controversial because the topics she discussed brought in many different perspectives to problems in society. Her thoughts mainly tie in with racism and sexism. In Lessing s No Witchcraft for Sale she explains the messages of white people having control over blacks, the selflessness of the slave, and ways to deal with peer pressure. In No Witchcraft for Sale Doris Lessing explains the message of white people having complete control over blacks in what they are and are not able to do. In the early 1900s it was not uncommon to see blacks owned by whites. Blacks inability to get an education, live on their own, and get a job prohibit them from being able to be independent. Many had the desire to become educated, but were never able to do because of the time period. This is still a problem today, whites thinking they are somehow above blacks. Blogger Karen Fleshman explains her observations about race by posting, Americans are not at all on the same page when it comes to race. It is obvious that things have improved, but there is still a long way to go before racism will ever solved; if that is ever accomplished. Throughout No Witchcraft for Sale, Lessing uses the influence of the parents on the children. • 40. How Does Globalization Affect The Economy Of Sydney As a result of this economic drive, an influence was evident on the spatial economic makeup of Sydney. The unemployment map of the city was distributed into two opposing fragments, illustrative of contemporaneous social geography. The highest rates of unemployment were marked in the western and south western suburbs, while the lowest rates occupied the northern suburbs. In place of this, the service sector, specifically finance, business, retail, community service, professional, and wholesale, sprouted. However, this was not sufficient to counterbalance the unemployment rates. In 1996, the services industry comprised a large 40% of employment, a step up from just 24% in 1971 (Fagan Webber 1999), of which was concentrating in the inner cityand neighbouring regions (Forster 2006). • 49. Theories Of Criminality And Delinquency Crime has been around since the creation of man, and specifically, since the fall of humanity in biblical times. Since then, people have been trying to explain what causes an individual to commit a crime. Although the Bible explicitly confirms the origin of crime is the sinful nature of man, many have argued as to the cause of criminality. During the eighteenth century, the argument for criminality and delinquency was the fall of man, as the Book of Genesis explains, after Eve ate from the forbidden tree, in Chapter 3. The first criminal act follows the fall of man, in Genesis 4:8 (NIV) where Now Cain said to his brother Abel, Let s go out to the field.
