How to Use SEO to Attract Attention for Your Firm
In order to find new clients via your webpage, your website has to stand out from the sea of
lawyer sites on the Internet. The best way to make it stand out is increase its search rankings
with search engine optimization. However, SEO for lawyers doesn't just mean using good
keywords, but it also involves optimizing the content on your website and using local
directories.
Optimizing Website Content
There are many ways you can optimize the content on your website so web searchers can
find you. The first way is to add relevant keywords to your content. When you write articles or
blogs, place high quality keywords in them. However, be sure that the articles or blogs are not
just written for the search engine; they should have value for the web visitor too.
Place high quality keywords in the captions of images, graphics or videos. This content shows
up on search engines just like textual content does and you want to use keywords so
searchers can find it. Using this type of content will also make your website more user friendly
and help make your site more interactive with visitors as well.
If you don't have a blog on your website, add one. A blog gives you more authority and is a
factor in helping your site rank higher on search engines. You can blog about the area of law
that your firm practices, you can introduce the lawyers, associates and other personnel who
work at the firm or you can write about relevant news that affects your area of law.
Use Local Directories
When it comes to legal matters, your clients are going to be found locally so it only makes
sense to register your firm's information on local directories and others like Google Places.
You should also do the work it takes to get your firm listed on all local attorney directories as
well.
When you add your firm to a local directory, there is information that you must have listed and
listed correctly. Include the firm's name, address, phone numbers, email address and the link
to your website. Double and triple check that everything is spelled correctly before submitting
the information to the site or you could lose potential clients.
Using Google Places will also help your firm be placed on Google Maps, which will make it
easier for clients to find your office. It will also help improve your ranking and registering onto
attorney directories will increase traffic to your website.
