This document provides instructions for running or participating in a live conference using Twinspace Live. It explains that no additional accounts are needed beyond an eTwinning account. Participants need only a computer with a camera and microphone. Time zones are an important consideration, and several European time zones are provided relative to CET. The process for organizing an event is outlined, which involves providing title, description, participants, date and time. Participating is described as noting the event time in one's own time zone and being ready at the appointed time and date. The live conference allows screen sharing, drawing on a whiteboard, and collaborating in real time. An example event between Greece and Belgium is described where participants sang carols and drew pictures
How can we bring the lectures from our classrooms to our students’ homes? One possible solution is to use the smart pen. The presentation will show how to record such pencast lectures, how to upload them to the portal or embed them in any classroom management system like Etudes, and the possibility to have the lectures transformed to videos with close captions.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. How to run and/or
participate in a live
conference
“Guernika”,
a drop of hope
Dimitra Provelengiou
2. Twinspace “LIVE” is easier
and better
We don’t need to create a new account or use our
personal accounts on the school pc, like in Skype or any
other application.
We only use our eTwinning accounts.
We can use the white board and draw online, real
time!
3. Twinspace “LIVE” is easier
and better
All we need is a pc with a camera and a
microphone, or a laptop.
Don’t forget that different countries have
different time. Use CET (central european zone) in
your communications with people around Europe.
You can find your CET time in
https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/cet
4. Twinspace “LIVE” is easier
and better
Spain’s time is CET time.
Italy’s time is CET time.
Northern Macedonia’s time is CET time.
Greece’s time is CET + 1 time (12:00 CET time equals 13:OO
in Greece)
Turkey’s time is CET + 2 time (12:00 CET time equals 14:OO
in Turkey)
Armenia’s time is CET + 3 time (12:00 CET time equals
15:OO in Armenia)
5. How to organize a live
conference in the Twinspace
Organize is easy…
6. How to organize a live
conference in the Twinspace
When you are in our Twinspace, go to “LIVE”.
7. You will see that you
can create a live event.
To do so, follow the
link.

8. How to organize a live
conference in the Twinspace
Here you have to decide
about the title, a very short
description, the number of
participants (I included the
pupils) and the duration.
Then, you have to choose a
date and click on Search.
A dialogue window will open
and ask you about the exact
time.
Press “Save”.
9. How to organize a live
conference in the Twinspace
Finally, if you go to “LIVE” in our Twinspace before 30.11.2018,
you will see that a live event is scheduled on that day. This is all.
10. How to participate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
Participate is easier…
11. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
Make sure that you have noted in your diary the correct day
and time, by turning CET in your own time.
For example, on our planned date on 30/11/2018, on 10:00, I will
have to remember that our date is on 11:00.
On that date, have your pc/laptop and your pupils ready for the
event.
12. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
I have used a trick to show how it is to participate in a
Twinspace Live Event:
I created an event while I was in front of my pc, e.g. Sunday
25/11, at 13:00 CET (2 o’clock here).
One or two minutes after 13:00, the black button appeared:
This black button will appear next to “Christmas” on 30/11 at 10:00 CET.
13. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
The Twinspace “LIVE” uses Adobe. First it will ask you to run
Adobe Connect and, of course, you have to accept.
If it asks you for downloads or updates, just do so. It doesn’t
matter if we have to wait for a while that everyone is ready.
14. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
Turn on your microphone and your camera.
15. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
In “Share my screen” we will find a white board. We can
collaborate here, by drawing real time together.
16. How to partisipate in a live
conference in the Twinspace
Don’t forget to take photos during the event. We can exchange
them later.
17. An example of Twinspace
LIVE
This is an example of a live conference on Twinspace Live some
years ago, before christmas
The event was between Greece and Belgium.
We had to run two main activities: a) sing Christmas Carrols to
each other in our mother tongues, b) draw Christmas images
together.
18. An example of Twinspace
LIVE
This is the event from our side.
We used our laptop.
We sat in front of the camera and sang.
We took turns to draw in the white board.
19. An example of Twinspace
LIVE
This is the same event
from the side of Belgium.
They used a pc and a
touch screen.
They also sat in front of
the camera and sang.
They took turns to draw
in the white board.
20. This is it! I wish
you the best live
events in the
Twinspace!
