Autobibliography
Definition
An autobibliography is a collection of the author’s own references.
Why create one?
It’s convenient for writing your CV
It’s easy to update
It’s easy to export to any format (Endnote, Refworks, BibTeX)

Add References
You can use any bibliography manager to create a collection of references.
Endnote
Refworks
Zotero
All three of these programs will store, organize, and export references for
you.
You can add references by searching databases or by creating new entries
for yourself. If your works are unpublished, you’ll have to create entries for
your own work.

Export References
Once you’ve got a bibliography of your own references, there are three
things you can do with it.
Publish All three of these programs can create formatted
bibliographies in hundreds of different styles, including the
Chicago and Harvard styles.
Cite All three of these programs will let you create footnotes
automatically in Microsoft Word and other common word
processing programs.
Store All three of these programs will let you create backups of the
sources you use most often. That way, all the work you’ve
done creating a personal library is safe.

Enable Sharing
Step 1
Create a folder of your own works on Refworks.
Click menu for §Tools, §Share.
Select the folder to share.

RSS Feeds
Step 3
Enable RSS feeds if you choose. Choose which works appear in the feed.

Web Directory
Step 4
Enable web publishing if you choose. When you’ve enabled this alternative,
your bibliography will appear in the list of Tufts University shared Refworks
folders. Users will be able to see your personal collection of publications,
import the citations list, and use the entries to cite your work.

12. Problems
What If I Don’t Have Refworks?
You can still send us a bibliography for inclusion in the alumni publication
database. Please use software such as Zotero, MS Word, or BibTeX to
create a database of publications and conference talks. Export that to one
of the major formats, and email it to Jenifer Burckett-Picker.
