1. How To Make A Memory Jar
Today marks the beginning of a New Year for all of us and I think we all
unconsciously share the same goal of having-a-better-year-than-last-year. Another
thing that we can all agree on is that the years are flying by, rarely do they ever wait
for anyone. This also means that at the end of the 12 month span, we may feel as
though the time we spent wasn’t all too great—and that’s only because we haven’t
kept track of it!
But how can we keep track of the year? I’m not a big fan of journals or diaries,
primarily because I write a whole lot as it is. But after surfing the internet for some
time, I came across the idea of a ‘memory jar’. I think it’s a wonderful idea and I
believe that all of my readers should definitely make use of it.
How does it work? It’s very simple. You take a jar, any jar—I purchased a mason jar
from my local craft store; and every time something memorable happens, you write it
down, date it, and stick in the jar! Anything, good or bad can be put in the jar (good
is preferable). You can also stick memorable photos, receipts, even movie tickets
into the jar.
Then, when it’s time for the ball to drop next year, you go through all of the stuff in
your jar and relive your year! It’s something quick and simple to do and it will
definitely make you feel like the time you spent doing various things throughout the
year was definitely worth it.
2. I ended up painting mine with some gold glass paint. I tried to do the Captain
America logo, but as you can see below I failed miserably. But it’ll have to work!
Hope you all give this a try, Happy New Year!
