1. How To Be Ambitious

average everydaypeople thateithergoto workor school—neitherof whichdotheytypically“enjoy”.
But everyonce ina while Icome across an individualthatcatchesmyeye withtheirvibrance.
Theystand outfrom the rest because theyare alwayspursuingmanydifferentgoalsatall times;and
not justfor the money,butalsobecause theyenjoyconstantlyoutdoingthemselves.Thisiscalled
ambition,andItrulyadmire people thatharborthistrait as it’shard to come across these days.Most
people we see onlydothe bare minimumof what’srequiredfrom them.Theyonlygotoschool or work
because theyabsolutelyhave to.Individualsof ambitionworkbecause theylovetoworkandtheywant
to succeed.
Afterspendingalotof my time inthe musicindustry,I’ve hadthe privilegetobe aroundmany very
ambitiouspeople.Theyneverstopworkingbecausethere isalwaysanew goal toreach for them.This
yearI beganto strive towardsa more ambitiouslifestyle—Iguesstheirwaysrubbedoff onme, andplus
it beatsbeinglazy.Andhonestly,nomatterhow lazyyouare,once youget started,itwill be hardto
slowdown.
FindYour Interests
His isan extremelyeasyprocess,yetsome peoplemake itharderthanit is.Fromthe time we beginto
walkwe start buildingvariousinterestsinourhead,althoughthese aren’tnecessarilythe interestswe
are lookingforsince theyare constantlychanging.Ithinkthata person’strue interestsbegintoflourish
betweenthe agesof 15 to 25. Althoughnew,wonderfulinterestscanarise atany time—evendays
before one leavesthe body.
Thinkaboutthe thingsthatyou’ve alwaysbeenfascinatedbyorinterestedin.Itwasactuallyprettyeasy
for me because foras longas I couldremember,Ialwayslovedtowrite.Creativewritingwasone of my
strengthsinschool andI rememberwhenIwas13, I usedto tell everyone thatIwantedtobe a
journalistwhenIgrewup.Besidesthat,Ihave alwayslovedmusicandthe workthat goesonbehindthe
scenes,especiallyonthe productionend.Lastly,Ilovedwatchingcartoons—andIstill do;superheroes
reallyinterestedme,evenuptill thisday.
BuildYour Goals
Aftergoingthroughall of your interestsandidentifyingthe mainones,yournexttaskistobuildaset of
goalsbasedon these interests.Since theyare relatedtoyourlifestyle andnotjustanyoldrandom goals,
youwill be naturallyinclinedtowanttopursue them.
Since one of my interestswere writing,IdecidedthatIwantedmyown website thatIcouldwrite
articlesforwheneverIwanted.Furthermore Iwantedtowrite myownbookand getit published.My
secondinterestinvolvedmusicsoIbeganto produce hip-hoprecordsata youngage. I toldmyself the
day I geta track placementwithafamousartist,Iwill be satisfiedwithmyself.Andsincemyfinal
interestinvolvedsuperheroes,I’ve alwayswantedtocreate myownhero.I wantedtocreate a story
fromthe groundup involvinganall newheroandeithergetitpublishedasacomic book,novel or
televisionshow.All of mygoalshave beenreachedbesidesthe lastone.

2. Study The Masters
There are mastersat almostanythingyoucan thinkof,andjustby studyingthemalittle youwill get
more motivationthanyoucan imagine.Ipersonallyknew averysuccessful musicproducer,andhe was
my biggestdrive.Isawhishard workethicand I didmybestto replicate itinmy ownway.The results
provedsemi-successful.The harderthe goalsare that you choose,the more discouragedyoucan
become.Butwhenyouare inconstantremembrance of those whosucceededinsimilarendeavorswith
whatseemedasease,youwill feelencouragementtogoon. What wasdone once,can surelybe done
again.Andwhat can be done again,can almostalwaysbe out-done.
The ideais to keepyourselfbusyatall times.Alwayssetanew goal.Assoonas you achieve one,set
another;if youhave it inyou,chase 2 or 3 at the same time.Don’tbe afraidof failure,everythingisa
learningexperience.Ionce wentto the Hondadealershipswiththe mindsetof purchasingacar, and the
salesmenIwasworkingwithtoldme “Whetheryoubuya car or not,it will be alearningexperience for
the both of us.” A worldfilledwithambitionandenthusiasmiswhatwe needandwhatwe are lacking.
So start todayby risingoutof yourtypical one-horse poweredstate of mindandshine.
