You'll find that Asturias Airport is small and easy to make your way around. Once
you've been through baggage reclaim, you exit the airport directly through the doors
you see in front of you. Now you have two options, you can take a taxi directly to the
hotel (~50€) or take the bus to Gijón Bus Station and then a taxi to the Hotel (~15€)
The airport bus is easily recognized as it
is blue and yellow. In Spain taxis are

All taxis have a taximeter where you can see the amount of money you will have
to pay. There is a minimum fare (usually 5€ in Gijón but it will be different from the
airport probably 20€) and after some minutes of travel the amount starts to raise.
If you are taking the taxi from the Airport to the Hotel, ask the amount of money to
the taxi driver. Don’t expect spanish taxi drivers to understand english (though it
can be your lucky day and find the very rare english speaking specimen!) Just
show him the following:
“¿Cuánto debo pagar para que me lleve al hotel TRYP en Gijón? Está en la“¿Cuánto debo pagar para que me lleve al hotel TRYP en Gijón? Está en la
calle Torcuato Fernández Miranda, la que lleva al Molinón. Necesito que me
haga un ticket al final del trayecto. Gracias”
Which roughly translates to: How much
do I have to pay to get to Hotel TRYP in
Gijón. It is in Torcuato Street, the one
that leads to the Molinón (Gijón, football
stadium). I need you to give me a ticket
at the end. Thank you

If you take the bus+taxi option,
head for the bus stop. If you
arrive on time, there probably
won’t be any bus there as buses
leave from the airport and take
you to the centre of Gijón every
hour on the hour. So time for
coffee at the airport cafeteria!
Bus to Gijón is usually in the 2ndBus to Gijón is usually in the 2nd
lane (from the left), but ask bus
driver if it is the correct bus. You
are expected to pay the 8€ fare
to the bus driver and he will give
you the ticket. It is a 45’ journey
and the bus usually stops before
at the station in Avilés (3rd city of
Asturias) first. Do not get off the
bus until the last stop (Gijón).

You'll find that the Gijón bus
station is not the most
beautiful place in town, but
don't worry. It can only get
better from here. There is a
