Code Week @ School is a grassroots initiative aimed at promoting computational thinking and coding activities in schools. It encourages schools to join the initiative, with the goal of having 50% of European schools participate by 2020. 2. What is code week?
2013: A grass-root initiative run by volunteers,
aimed to:
 promoting computational thinking, coding and tech
related activities;
 bringing ideas to life with code, making
programming more visible
 bringing people together to explore and learn about
our digital world.
2018: Strategy for a Digital Single Market
Digital Education Action Plan:
The Commission encourages schools to join the
initiative: 50% of schools in Europe by 2020.
