In this example I was looking for books on the Canadian Oil Sands. Notice that I abbreviated truncated my search words. C-A-N- A with a star sign will search for items that include Canada, Canada’s, Canadian and Canadians. S-A-N-D with a star sign will search for sand, sands and sand dunes. In this example the library has 4 books on this topic. If I search for Canadian oil sands I would only find one book and would have missed out on the other three good books in the library.
If the book has a green icon it is available for loan. You can find the book on our shelves according to the call number. The call number to the first book by kelly is 333.8232 KEL. You need to write down the complete call number to find the book on the shelf. If you wish to find other books on this same topic you can search using the subject terms found in this book by Kelly. For example clean energy industries.
