What is a product variation

▪ Product variation allows you to add varieties and selections to your
product

▪ Lets say a product ‘T-shirt’, if you want to sell it in different colors and
sizes you just need to apply color and size variation to it

▪ Similarly, product which have multiple options like size, color, style etc
should be created with various product variations

▪ It will allow you to create multiple variants of a single product
▪ It makes it easier for your customers to decide whether the product is
available as per his requirement or not
▪ For example if he wants to have buy a black color t-shirt of a large size, he
can easily find out that the color and size he is looking for is available or
not

How to create a product variation
Step 1:
▪ Log in to your store admin panel with your user name and id

▪ Click on ‘Create’ tab and select ‘Product Variation’ option

Step 2:
▪ Now you are on ‘Create a new variation’ page where you are required to
fill basic info

▪ Basic info includes variation name, variation code and input options

Step 2.1:
▪ Enter variation name which will be displayed in your storefront

▪ Enter the variation code, it will not be visible on your storefront. But it will
be visible on your store admin panel

▪ It will help you to differentiate within variations having common name

Step 2.3:
▪ Enter the input value for this variation which includes all the possible
options applied to it

▪ For example small, medium, large are the options for ‘Size’ variation

▪ You will get two field by default but you can add upto 9 variants by clicking
‘Add option’ button for each

▪ If you want to remove the entered variant, click on cross icon ‘ ’

Step 3:
▪ Click on ‘Save’ button in the right to save the filled information

▪ Click on ‘Save & Exit’ to save the filled information and exit from the
process after completion

▪ Click on ‘ ’ to exit from the process without saving filled information

Step 4:
▪ Next section is about adding this new variation to a group

▪ It will help in organizing and assigning variations during product creation

▪ You can also add same variation to multiple groups. Like ‘Size’ variation
can be assigned to multiple groups like ‘Polo T-shirt', 'sports wear’ etc

Step 4.1:
▪ Click on groups from the list in which you want to add this variation

▪ You can also search the group by using search field

▪ If you want to create new group just click on ‘Create a new group’ link and
follow the process

▪ Group with ‘Tick’ mark means that this variation is already added to that
group

▪ When you click on the group it’ll get add in ‘Add sizes to’ text field

▪ ‘Size’ in ‘Add size to’ is the name of new variation which you have just
created. It will change like wise

▪ Click on ‘Save’ button in the right to save the filled information

▪ Click on ‘Save & Exit’ to save the filled information and exit from the
process after completion

▪ Click on ‘ ’ to exit from the process without saving filled information

Good to know

▪ You can also add more options to the variation. For this, you will have to
come back to the same page by selecting to edit it on "Manage your
variations" page

▪ You can assign one variation to as many groups as you wish to. You just
have to separate the group names with a comma sign

▪ You can also remove the group name once added, just delete the group
name from the “Add to" text box
