Common Stereotypes

FEMALE Teenagers:
  Sexually active,
  Troublesome,
  Loud mouthed,
  Rude,
  Dressed inappropriately,
  Uncontrollable,
  Alcoholics,
  Drug addicts,
 Working class (when people think of teenagers,
they don’t think about the middle and upper
     class teenagers).
My Target Audience

Females aged (18-25):
Materialists:
My target audience would enjoy new clothes,
  jewellery, freebees.
Social climbers:
My target audience want to be known, and
want to know everything that people want to
know. They are the type to gossip.
Representations put forward by
my Magazine
•My model has loose clothing, parted lips and
skin on display, this suggest promiscuousness,
•She is looking directly at the audience which
makes her seem confident and dominant,
•Her gaze is equal with the reader which
suggests equality,
•Her eyebrow is raised which connotes
inquisitiveness and intelligence, which is
countered by her lack of clothing, this makes
her look complicated, which is a more accurate
representation of young females, there is more
than what meets the eye,
•She is lying on a bed which reinforces the
convention that teenagers are heavily
sexualised.
Comparative magazines with the
same target audience

It is obvious that Q magazine despite having the same
target audience are highly sexualised, even in
comparison to my own. The audience can see she
isn’t wearing a bra, she has very alluring facial
 features, and posture.
In this edition, Q have represented women as a sex
 object.

Representations my magazine
creates of young women
Women are;
 Beautiful,
 Sexualised,
 Independent (as the article suggest that
women are able to achieve great things
 without men).
