PROGRAM OF THE GOVERNMENT FOR PROVIDING
ACCOMMODATION FOR THE CITIZENS
In the democratic countries the
government is responsible for
providing habitable accommodation
for the citizens. The government
usually performs this task through
the following two policies:
In formulating the housing policy, the government needs a lot of information regarding the number of people in need of
accommodation, types of accommodation, economic capability of the owner, comfort conditions in the built spaces in
accordance with the country's or locality's climate, safety requirements for the structures, projected increase of
population, natural hazards, policy of land use, generation of job or employment opportunities etc.
