11. FIRE TRAGEDY
Several massive fire was swept through chalantika slum leaving thousands of people homeless and some injured.
According to CNN, “More than 10,000 people have been left homeless after a massive fire engulfed a slum (chalantika) in Pallabi, Dhaka.
Destroying thousands of shanties, more than 2,000 huts were destroyed in the blaze. The majority of the slum’s residents are low-paid
workers from nearby garment factories. There were no casualties as a result of the blaze.”- (18-06-2019).
According to The Daily Sun, “A fire broke out in chalantika slum in Dhaka’s Mirpur Area. More than 100 shanties were gutted in the fire
