Our film opening represents a group of teenagers to portray innocence before violence occurs. We used teenagers to challenge horror film tropes and create something different. The film starts the group in a safe location that will gradually become unsafe, leaving a victim alone and harmed. Horror appeals broadly but especially to teenagers and young adults as a way to metaphorically face real-life fears. We used Final Cut Pro software to edit footage, lighting, titles and pacing. GarageBand allowed us to add voiceovers, music and sound effects to enhance the quality. Learning from prior tasks helped us include different shot types and illustrate necessary elements in our opening.
Editing process
1) The editors created a time lapse of the sun going down behind a church by speeding up the clip 700%.
2) For a clip of a boy running in a dream, they added echo and decay effects to give it a mysterious feel and convey he was running from something.
3) They added name banners at the start of interviews with graphics and text identifying the speaker and their profession to inform the audience.
Editing Process

Our film involves the death of a main character. We use various film techniques like lighting, camera angles, and editing to create tension and move the psychological horror plot. Several scenes take inspiration from other horror films to frighten the audience, such as using a long shot in a dark alleyway and having lights switch off down a street. Fast-paced editing, unexpected sounds, and a fade to black with a knife sound keep viewers on edge. Titles are in bright white font for visibility against the low-key lighting of tense scenes.
Task 7
The document compares the filmmaking techniques used in a preliminary project and a subsequent thriller project. It notes that the thriller incorporated more advanced camerawork like handheld shots, more locations, costumes, props, actors with personalities, and editing effects. How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

Constructing Your Course Container for Effective Communication

- 1. Georgia Pearce THE HAUNTING: TECHNOLOGIES
- 2. To start our movie, we used Footage Crate to create an ident suitable for our movie, adhering to appropriate conventions such as blood, connoting violence. We then used Final Cut Pro to add the titles over the top of our ident. The audio used over this sequence we downloaded from copyright free music site FreeplayMusic, to add a tense atmosphere for the audience and build the feeling of suspense, embedded on the right.
- 3. Using Final Cut Pro, I then faded the sound effect downloaded from FreeplayMusic to fade in the sound of the phone alarm, emphasising the start of the movie and that the title character is waking up, foreshadowing sinister events are about to occur.
- 4. We then used the transitions tool on Final Cut Pro to create a fade transition sequence, to highlight the change in location and further foreshadow the tension building for the audience in terms of what will happen to the character.
- 5. We used the effects tool on Final Cut Pro to create a distorted sequence, using a television screen effect over the top of our footage to make it appear to the audience as a flashback of the title character’s memories, introducing the second character, the antagonist, to the audience and the storyline.
- 6. Another effect Final Cut Pro enabled us to do was include an overlay effect, as we wanted to convey the antagonist as a spirit and create the idea of her haunting the title character. This proved successful, as we feel it was more effective in the conveyal of her character rather than basic footage.
