Horizontal clustering involves running multiple Java application servers that are run on two or more

How to do Horizontal Clustering ?
1. Install weblogic server on both Machines with same installation directories.
2. Create domain on primary Machine where you want your Admin server and copy domain to second
Machine.
Step by Step -
1. Install weblogic server on both Machines with same installation directories.
2. Start domain wizard on primary & select option "create a new weblogic domain"

2. 3. Select default first option

3. 4. Enter a name for your domain

4. 5. Enter Admin Server credentials, username & password

5. 6. Select your mode ( development or production ) and jdk you want to use

6. 7.Select below two options

7. 8. If you want, update your Admin Server Name, listen address, port & enable ssl if required

8. 9. Add the number of managed servers you want for your domain, enter listen address, port & ssl
information if required.

9. 10. Create cluster

10. 11. Assign all managed servers to the cluster ( click on each server one by one and click on right arrow )

11. 12. This is the turning point for horizontal clustering -
Create two Machines ( usually create it with the name of Machines, suppose you ant clustering between
to Machines with hostname like hostname1.something.com &
hostname2.something.com, then create Machine names like hostname1 & hostname2 )
Enter listen address of particular Machine ( server ), like for Mac1 enter listen address of
hostname1.something.com & for Mac2, enter listen address of hostname2.something.com )
Enter port for nodemanager

12. 13. Assign MS1 & MS2 to Mac1 & MS3 & MS4 to Mac2, this will allow nodemanager to start
managed server 1 & 2 on Machine1 ( hostname1.something.com ) and start managed server 3 & 4 on
Machine 2 ( hostname2.something.com )

13. 14. Select create button.

14. Now go to Middleware Directory, D:OracleMiddleware, make a copy of user_projects, copy it under
same folder on another Machine ( D:OracleMiddleware on Machine 2 ).
Now start your managed servers
Now another turning point of horizontal clustering
Step:1 First change the type of the machine (ssl to plain)
Step:2 Change the Listen port number of each machine like first machine Listen port number is 5556 and
second machine Listen port number is 5557 and so on.
Note: Before start WLST.cmd make sure your admin server is up.

15. Step:3 Now start the WLST tool (D:weblogic 12cwlserver_12.1commonbinWLST.cmd) as per your
directory structure.
Step:4 connect('weblogic','Welcome1','t3://192.168.1.236:7001') as per your credential and wait for
successfully connection.
Step:5 nmEnroll('D:weblogic 12cuser_projectsdomainscoh_domain','D:weblogic
12cwlserver_12.1commonnodemanager') as per your directory structure.
Step:6 nmConnect('weblogic','Welcome1','192.168.1.236','5556','coh_domain','D:weblogic
12cuser_projectsdomainscoh_domain','plain')
Repeat these steps (step:3 to step:6) for another machine but make sure at the time when you are going
to enroll the second machine make sure the Listen port is different as below command
Note: nmConnect('weblogic','Welcome1','192.168.1.236','5557','coh_domain','D:weblogic

Final Step: kill all server and start freshly again with the below manner
 First start node manager of first machine
 D:weblogic 12cwlserver_12.1serverbin>startNodeManager.cmd
 then you start admin server do it all things manually
Now move to the second machine do it same as above
 Second Machine
 First start node manager of second machine
 D:weblogic 12cwlserver_12.1serverbin>startNodeManager.cmd
Now go to Weblogic Administration control
And check your all machine status
Click Environment->machine->click on your machine name -> Monitoring
Check your all machine status, they all are in Reachable state .
