Our team ‘doing it for the better’ is developing ‘a mobile app’ to help ‘parents’ ,who ‘want to make sure their child is doing their homework and want to keep in track of their child's progress’

2. Who: this app is for mainly parents but also students
What: this app is for parents who want to keep on top of their
child's homework and uncover their lies by tracking their
child's homework and progress. But also for students who
forget to do homework or need some help.
When: this app is used when a child is doing their homework
and when a parent is concerned whether their child is doing
their work.
Where: on the go, whenever they have phone present with
them or at home when they are doing their homework.
Why: this enables children to ensure that they are doing
homework and in the long run filling their full potential in life,
it also allows parents to help the child do this by tracking
their progress

3. Many students really cant be bothered to do their homework and lie to
their parents to get them off their cases. By continuing this cycle the
student will underachieve. The parent will be embarrassed at parents
evening when they are rendered clueless and ask the teacher why the
child does not receive homework.
The student may be forgetful and not know when the work is due and not
do it in time. Furthermore the student may be stuck on the homework and
not be able to do it.
THE SOLUTION: Homework Helper helps children with their homework by
telling student their due date and the task to complete, also it gives links
to a website set by the teacher to help with the set task. Not forgetting a
reminder/alarm the day before its due just in case you forget.
Homework Helper lets the parent keep control of the child's situation
letting them know the due date and the task to complete the children's
homework record and subject levels and progress. The parent gets contact
details to talk to the teachers if concerned.

5. *At our school parents complain to teachers at parent
evening about their child not having any homework, when
their child has been receiving homework and not doing it.
* Parents look in their child's homework diary but the child
doesn’t even write it down and the parent cant tell the child
to do the homework if the child does not know what the
task is.

and the task to complete but also get some help’ our
app ‘Homework Helper’ helps ‘the parents keep in
track of their child's progress and students keep
track of the due date and the task to complete but
also get some help’.

7. I think the app is very well designed. As a teacher it can be a real
problem when students are not keeping up with their homework. It’s
very difficult to judge how much progress they are making. This app
should really help.

academic year. Due to the cooperation of teachers and this app in
particular my daughter has been able to catch up with homework that is
relevant to her. And there will be no more “I don’t have any homework
!”

8. #Trweb launched Homework Planner on 3rd February 2014, however this
competitor just organises the homework, it does not give help ,track
grades, records or progress in a parent section unlike our app.
#Hwkhlp.com launched homework help for students on 23rd October
2013,but this app gives great help to students with you being able to,
take a picture of your question and we will send back step by step
instructions, video tutorials and answers. Save time by using the app
rather spend it searching endlessly for an answer and have the answers
and YouTube video tutorials sent right to your phone. The help on this
app is unbelievable but although our help is not as good our app is all
in one and it tracks grades, records or progress in a parent section
unlike their app.
#N00bDev studio launched my homework on 1st July 2013, this
competitor only helps you to organize and arrange your homework. It is
equipped with alarms and notifications to help you remember your
duties or tasks. you also can add, change or remove subjects at will and
you can post your task to Facebook. But ours does more than this app is
all in one and it tracks grades, records or progress in a parent section
we also give help links for students.

9. our most valued part of our app is the ability to record the
homework on a mobile device so you are always aware of
what you need to do which is available for parents and
children and this makes all the difference. This core feature
sets down the task dates due and set and gives you a
reminder/alarm on your phone the day before its due.
Without this feature our app is pointless.
The extra features that make our app amazing are: it gives
links to a website set by the teacher to help with the set
task. homework record and subject levels and progress. The
parent gets contact details to talk to the teachers if
concerned.

10. MVP flow: integrated user feedback:

14. Our app relies on more technical issues because it has to
establish a link from the teachers so when they set
homework they will have uploaded this on the app as the
app will work in the background. The app does not rely on
data and content because our app does not hold a lot of
data or content just supplies the information needed by
both the parent and student alike .

15. Business case: we have chosen to make money through
advertisements when our app gets popular if the user would like to
remove all advertisements they can buy the ad free app for 69p. Apart
from this the app is free.
Customer pledges: we realised that the customer may not be willing to
pay too much on this app straight away as there are lots of other free
apps available but none do what ours does. If in future the app
becomes popular we may charge for the app and remove the adds. We
think that parents may be our main customers as they want the best
for their child and most children do not realise how much homework
can help them pass their GCSEs.

16. To advertise our app we could set up a advertisement for
our app on Facebook or twitter to target a social group of
people. But we could also propose this app to schools
across the country to solve homework problems and
bump up grades in the long run. We may also be able to
rely on parents or students just looking around on the
app store, which has worked quite well for other apps
on the app store that offer nothing quite as brilliant as
our revolutionary idea simple but effective. We will also
attract people not particularly looking for this app but
just downloading it because its free and let the word of
mouth do the rest.

17. App Design Mock-upSurely you don’t think this would work better as a website?:
This is better suited to an app because it contacts teachers
and computers cant call people. Furthermore people are not
really at home as students are at school and parents are
shopping, at work or looking after babies they do not have
time to set up a computer. They just want to make sure their
child is doing well this is why its such a good app idea. An
app is the way forward as this app has to link to mobile
phone functions eg.gives you a reminder/alarm on your
phone the day before its due.
Teenagers always use their phone this way the app is more
appealing to them.
