This document provides tips for making online homework and project assignments easier to understand and complete. It recommends breaking down overwhelming instructions by copying and pasting them into a Word document and highlighting important parts. It also advises asking the professor clarifying questions via email if anything is unclear rather than waiting until the last minute. Finally, it stresses turning assignments in on time, including your name and other required information, using the correct citation format, and treating projects like benchmarks by completing parts each module.

1. here’s how to make it easier

2.  When you look at the instructions for the
Homework or Projects in each Module they may
seem overwhelming at first. But if you break it
down it is easier to absorb.
 Once you break it down it’s easier to grasp the
material and understand what is expected of
you.
 This will allow you to write and complete your
assignments for a better grade.

3.  Chose which style of Homework you wish to do- The Arts,
On the Job, or Traditional
 Copy and paste the instructions into a Word Document-
highlight anything important and strike out anything that
isn’t.

on pages 78-79 and Case Study 1 in
Chapter 4 on pages 99-100 of
Therapeutic Communication for Health
Care.

Module 4 Homework Drop box.

4.  If you don’t understand a homework or
project assignment or it is vague, contact
your Professor via the email link on the
gray bar. Ask specific questions to gain
clarification, not just “I don’t understand”.
 You might even give an example of what
you think it means and ask if that is
correct.
 Don’t wait till the last minute to do your
homework or email your professor.

5.  Now you are ready to complete the assignment. Make sure
that you turn it in the first week of the module between
Sunday and Saturday at 10pm. Don’t wait till the last
minute.
 Make sure your name is on it, the date, and Homework ,
Module ___.
 Put the Homework in the “homework” basket in the drop
box. Many instructors will not let you re-submit a drop box
even if you accidently put it in the wrong basket.
 Make sure to use the correct format (APA or MLA) for
citations and works cited page.
 If you do not know how to do this see your online
coordinator.

6.  With Projects you will want to use the same method of
copying and pasting the instructions on a Word document
to highlight the necessary stuff and put a line through
anything that is not. A reminder, please ask questions
immediately if you have any.
 Projects are like the Benchmarks are in on campus classes.
Typically you do parts of them each Module which becomes
one complete Project when you have finished all of the
Modules.

7.  Keep in mind, the Project section of your online class is just
like the Benchmark assignments you receive on ground.
Check the upper left corner of the class screen to see more
information about the Project which may help you to better
decide how to proceed with the assignment.
