Shipping containers can be converted into affordable housing for those living in poverty in developing countries like Mexico. Over 1 in 11 Mexicans are homeless and poor sanitation, water, and housing conditions cause over 425,000 preventable deaths annually. Recycled shipping container homes could provide bedrooms, a living area, bathroom, and kitchen to those living on less than $2 per day and help address housing shortages, especially for those displaced after natural disasters.
