Currently, mental hospitals are too eager to place their homeless patients in community health centers. These health centers are more interested in
mid–life crisis patients than in the seemingly incurable schizophrenics. These mental patients find it very easy to wander their way back on to the
streets. Wade Black, of "Defining the Homeless and the Mentally Ill", says :
"If more of us understood how they struggle to overcome their illness, we would seek better ways to assist them rather than to force them out of our

In order to receive a treatment, the patient must be cooperative and have will power to make a change for themselves. Often times, homeless people
reject a treatment in housing because they consider the way they are going to be treated. If a homeless with a mental illness recalls bad experiences
with their treatment most likely they wouldn't like to come back or looking forward to find another kind of treatment. The problem becomes evident
when the mental health community and the homeless person do not agree on expectations of each other's role and needs. Mental health professionals

Many organizations have formed to establish several resolutions for combating the issue of human trafficking , both locally and nationally. I chose to
investigate two existing social awareness campaigns located in Ohio. The reasons I decided to explore these two organizations is because of the
obvious, that my classmates and I are in the state of Ohio but overall, it is due to the fact that this state rank's number five in the nation for human

Policy Brief Abstract Over the last decade, there has been a rapid increase in the number of private residential treatment facilities for youth in the
United States. These private residential treatment facilities are often referred to as "specialty" programs and include the following: emotional growth
schools; therapeutic boarding schools; outdoor therapeutic programs; behavior modification schools; wilderness experience programs; and boot camps.
There are no federal regulations regarding the operation of these programs and few states have regulations in place either. The majority of the programs
are neither accredited nor licensed. A number of reports have surfaced with claims of abuse, neglect, maltreatment, and even deaths occurring in these
unregulated facilities. After a decade of such reports the troubled–teen industry has come under scrutiny. A solution is needed to protect the youth that

Symptoms And Treatment Of Ptsd Veterans
It is evident that reforms are necessary within the VA system and society in regards to PTSD and veterans. How can the American veterans be better
taken care of? I will focus on the following four specific issues that are in need of reform,
1.How can wait times be decreased for veterans seeking mental health treatment?
2.How can the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans be eliminated?
3.How can veterans receive immediate assistance in times of crisis?
4.How can we ensure that diagnosed PTSD veterans will continue treatment after receiving full monetary compensation?
Focusing on these research questions, I propose to conduct research on decreasing wait times for PTSD related appointments, reducing, or eliminating,
the stigma attached to PTSD in veterans, providing a way for veterans to receive immediate PTSD crisis help, and a way to ensure that veterans
diagnosed with PTSD continue treatment.
Veterans often experience long wait times to schedule an appointment for PTSD. Through additional research I have found that according to a study in
2003 by the American Legion, of approximately 300,000 veterans waiting for health care, over half of them had been waiting over eight months for an
appointment (American Legion, 2013). I further researched how many VA facilities in the United States offer specialized treatment for PTSD. In all
50 states, and Washington, DC, there are a total of 139 facilities (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2015). I propose to conduct a telephone

Though the CAC offer resources primarily to the child victims; I recognized a need to advocate for the parents and guardians of the children far
beyond parenting classes. By conducting assessments and intakes with the parents and guardians of these children I recognized the physical and
emotional impact the child endured affected the family as a whole. One can take into consideration that the child's first source of support comes from
those in their immediate environment. So to advocate for resources designed to aid the parents to cope and maintain stability within their lives drove
me to advocate on their behalf. Therefore because the center's resources are primarily intended to assist the children, such as mandatory referral for
therapy to children, who disclose abuse as, well as supplemental insurance, which helps; when applicable to pay for treatments needed on the child's
behalf.
I advocated that the same services should pertain their parents and guardians, such as mandatory referrals for therapy as well as supplemental insurance
to aid in the likelihood that the parents take advantage of the resource. To date, treatment is available to the parents but only upon request and at their
