Insecurity In Othello Essay
Othello s insecurity about his skin color and heritage is a tragic flaw. He is the highly respected general of the armies of Venice. He is not a native of Venice,Which makes him more likely to harassment from the people of Venice. Othello is easy prey to insecurities because of his self consciousness about being a racial and cultural outsider. This is a tragic flaw because it leads to death. He is insecure about himself already, and when he finds out that the one person he truly loves and trusts has had an affair he instantly believes it because he believes that he is not good enough for her. He knows that he does not meet Brabantio s standards, and that Brabantio does not want his daughter married to a black man. His insecurities are so...show more content...Othello is very prejudice. In the first scene, Iago and Rodrigo belittle Othello by calling him different racial terms, calling him, Barbary horse and thick lips In every case, the prejudiced characters use terms that describe Othello as an animal or beast. They use racial slang to describe Othello and also as an outsider to the white community. Comparing him to an animal and dehumanizing him they show a lack of respect. The same theme of disrespect is shown throughout the entire play with the betrayal of his closest friends. Another example of Othello being compared to an animal is when Iago says Even now, now, very now, an old black ram
Is tupping your white ewe. Arise, arise! Awake the snorting citizens with the bell,
Or else the devil will make a grandsire of you. Arise, I say! (1.1.97 101)
Iago uses racial slurs comparing Othello to an animal once again when he is waking Brabantos up. He says

Heroism Essay
What is heroism? Things preformed Superman, Batman, or The Flash? This is what most people think about when they hear the word hero or heroism. Although these characters show heroism, the definition of heroism does not have to be narrowed to the stereotypical hero. Many people have different concepts on heroism. A hero can be a ordinary person like a firefighter or cop. Heroism is a attribute that a person can obtain but they have to choose actions that help others like a fearless firefighter or cop helping others. Heroism also does not call for a reward for being heroic. Heroism is a quality or an act in all of us that a person uses to benefit for the good of other people even if there is a risk. Heroism makes society a better place....show more content...It also shows heros care for others shown in sociocentrism instead of being egocentric. This means that a hero is more concerned about others instead of having egocentrism and only caring for their own wants. Heroes tone down the evil in the world by being taking more action and caring for other people instead of themselves.
The quality of heroism can be shown in the everyday life and people. George Bernard Shaw a playwright and a public figure said, Every reasonable man (and woman) is a potential scoundrel and a potential good citizen. What a man is depends upon his character; what a man does, and what we think of what he does, depends upon his circumstances (Shaw). When you see your peers they might not look special or have superpowers that can save the whole galaxy from an evil demon. Although they can still show heroism that you might not see or notice. In addition to heroism being in most people it can also be fa

Essay on Ethics And Enron
ENRON
Introduction
Enron was the country s largest trader and marketer for electric and natural gas energy. Its core business was buying energy at a negotiated price and later, selling the energy when prices increased. As an energy broker, Enron provided a service by allowing producers to negotiate a certain price while Enron took the risk that prices would fall below what it bought energy. Buyers of energy also benefited because Enron could ensure the supply of energy. In 2000 Enron was listed number five on the Fortune 500. What happened to the company which was among the most admired for vision and quality thinking? World Com
Introduction
WorldCom, now named MCI, recently emerged from bankruptcy protection after reporting accounting irregularities of $11 billion. During the late 1990s there was formidable pressure on WorldCom to preserve historic levels of cash flow and EBIDTA (earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes, and amortization) while new telecommunications orders were in decline as well as continued pressure on existing price points. It was during this period that WorldCom began many of the fraudulent accounting practices. The SEC Report (2003) on WorldCom identified fraudulent behavior in three main areas: the unauthorized movement of line costs to capital

into the electronic system, which is what is being used even today.
ELECTRONIC TELEVISION HISTORY
The experiments of Swinton in 1907, with the cathode ray tube for electronic television held great potential but were not converted into reality. Finally,
in 1927, Philo Taylor Farnsworth was able to invent a working model of electronic television that was based on Swinton's ideas.
His experiments had started when he was just a little boy of 14 years. By the time he became 21, Philo had created the first electronic television
system, which did away with the rotating disks and other mechanical aspects of mechanical television. Thus was born the television system which is
the basis of all modern TVs.
All the early television systems were black and white, with color television being invented much later on. Since the early invention of television in the
beginning of the 1900s, history has seen many firsts in the area of television.

Internet vs Television
The internet is more convenient than television when it comes to knowledge. The internet has more to offer than television, however television
provides more accuracy. When I say that the internet is more convenient, I mean you can look for what to what and there's a good chance you will
find it. If you're looking for things like a TV show, a video, or even a movie you're most likely to find it. Whiletelevision provide accuracy on exactly
what is coming on and what time it's going to be coming on, the internet provides more information and knowledge.

4. Essay on Television
The impact that television (A.K.A.â TV) has had on mankind in the last 50 years, is rivaled by few other inventions throughout modern history.
Recently television has been given a bad wrap, seen by many people as a cruel invention, a 'boobâtube'; mesmerizing and brainwashing its viewers.
People have forgotten TV is an educational and entertaining tool used in the everyday lives of people around the world. Without TV and its many
advantages where would the world be at this very moment, certainly not in the information age that it is in now.
The average person watches on average ten to fifteen hours of television during a week. This seems like an awful lot of time to be sitting in front of a
television, but...show more content...
This is a good thing, if you keep your priorities straight, because television should not be your number one priority. The entertainment part of television
contributes to keeping people out of trouble. If a person has nothing else to do and they get into the routine of watching a certain show then they will be
'off the streets';. Characters on shows can act as role models for their audience and promote good morals. Sports are another aspect of television
entertainment. If someone can not actually attend a sporting event in person, more than likely they can still catch the action on television. What better
way to be entertained than sitting on your couch!
Television is also helpful with product information, and although commercials are not regarded as the most entertaining aspect of television, they sure
can be informative. Without television commercials a person may never hear about a product that could benefit their life. For example, a commercial
for allergy medication can let someone know that there is relief for their symptoms. This may never have been possible if the person wasn't watching
television and saw the commercial for the product. Advertising and product information, is just one more of many reasons why television is so useful.
The News! Enough said, well not really, but watching the news on the television keeps you up to date on world and local

5. Life Without Parents Essay
Parents have a large impact on their children and how their life will turn out. Each parent will affect a different aspect of their child's life. Fathers
tend to affect more of the physical attributes of a child and provide money for the family while mothers will help with the emotional side of a child's
development. Having both parents present greatly aids in developing a more wellârounded child. When a family has both parents involved the family
runs better as not all of the weight of raising an individual falls on one parent. Individuals with both parents engaged in their lives feel more confident
and comfortable with themselves. Parents should not believe it is okay to leave a child. When a parent leaves a child because of their own choice or
death, there are many negative physical, emotional, and psychological impacts which will result in the child's life.
When a parent leaves or dies, there are many different physical, emotional, and psychological impacts on the children. One study shows that when the
father is not present in a child's life this "'inadequate family structure makes children more susceptible to drug use as a coping mechanism" (Davidson,
"Life Without Father"). Without a father figure, some individuals seem lost and seek out different items or activities to try and fill the void. Also,
without both parents in the house, the child would have more freedom since only one parent is responsible for them. This freedom allows for many
doors to be opened for

6. Essay Life Without Television
Life without Television
When my family's only television set went to the repair shop the other day, my parents, my sister, and I thought we would have a terrible week. How
could we get though the long evenings in such a quiet house? What would it be like without all the shows to keep us company? We soon realized,
though, that living without television for a while was a stroke of good fortune. It became easy for each of us to enjoy some activities alone, to
complete some postponed chores, and to spend rewarding time with each other and friends.
First of all, with no television to compete for our time, we found plenty of hours for personal interests. We all read more that week than we had read
during the six months...show more content...
After that, we started to realize that television had killed our time so much.
Finally, and probably most important, we spent time with each other. Instead of just being in the same room together while we stared at a screen, we
actually talked for many pleasant hours. I had never thought about what my family members' worries. Through we were talking each other, we could
share our troubles. Moreover, for the first time in years, my family played some games together. We played Monopoly, which was my favorite game,
and Texas holdem poker, which was my father's favorite game. And because we didn't have to worry about missing this or that show, we had some
family friends over on a couple of evenings and spent an enjoyable time with them. We realize that our family is the best friend.
Once our television returned, we were not prepared to put it in the attic. But we had a sense of how it can take over our lives if we are not careful.
We are now more selective. We turn on the set for our favorite shows, certain sports events, and the news, but we don't leave it running all evening. As
a result, we find we can enjoy television and still have time left over for other activities and

7. Could We Live Without Tv Essay
Opinion essay
Topic: TV: could you live without it?
Azizov Saidkabir

Have we ever asked ourselves "Could we live without television? Do we know what kinds of programs our children are watching? How do they
influence to our personality?"
Television is an information channel and telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving images, pictures, animations, and movies from a
long distance. Television has a variety of programs. Programs on television are supposed to be entertaining for all ages. But in my opinion when you
watch television excessively, it is less likely to be beneficial. I believe that the time people watch television should be strictly limitedâfor the sake of
health, education and child...show more content...
I never believed that television is truly harmful for eyes, and that focusing your eyes too long on any one thing can cause eye strain (asthenopia).
Encyclopedia.com describes eye strains as the "fatigue of the eyes, such as that caused by reading or looking at a computer screen for too long." ("Eye
strain." The Oxford Pocket Dictionary of Current English. 2009. Retrieved September 27, 2010 from Encyclopedia.com: http://www.encyclopedia.com
/doc/1O999âeyestrain.html.) There are also other causes for asthenopia for example when a person sits on a floor and watches television, with his
head tilted up. Basically, we have to be careful about watching television when we are sitting too close to it. It is better and safer to sit further
away from the television when you are watching it, or not to watch it excessively. A final, yet serious result of watching too much television is its
link to obesity. Watching television does not add on calories to your stomach, but it does absolutely nothing to help you burn them. As you sit there,
watching your favorite shows, you are not doing anything to burn the calories you ate earlier. So, eating foods while you are sitting in front of the
television for a couple of hours everyday add a lot of calories to your body which may be a large reason of becoming fat. In a study described by Gabe
Mirkin, M.D., in the Journal of

that teenagers in most of countries are addicted to television programs. As a result of this addiction that teenagers are used to forget their studies and
neglect homeworks. As instance, this kind of issues were recorded specially so during Sirasa Super Star reality television program which have been
telecasted on Saturdays and Sundays. Students wasted a lot of time by concentrating on that T.V show instead of studying. As side effect of this, in
2005 O/L and A/L results have been reduced. Similarly that they are dillyingâdallying in front of the television teenagers are come up with health
