At an end of a unit on plan life, students create websites That
are targeted at a 3rd grade audience. Emphasis is on
transforming information to make it educational and engaging.
The best of these get to teach with a 3rd grade teacher.
To cover PA geography curriculum and make relevant
connections to the five geographical themes, students act as
travel agents to create and sell a family trip package to
destinations across PA.

At the end of a civil war unit, students read letters from
soldiers, write one of their own from a fictional perspective,
and create a dramatic reading with music and primary source
images using Ipads and Imovie.
Students participated in non-fiction literature circles enhanced
by ipads, wikis, Google Docs, and other web 2.0 technologies.
This ninth grade lesson on effective research was co-designed
and co-taught with all ninth grade teachers. It integrates ipads,
wikis, and Google Forms to create an engaging model for lesson
design.
Tenth grade English students work together on a
campaign team to support an election for Marc
Antony or Brutus in Shakespeare’s Julius
Caesar. This project incorporates argumentative
writing, creativity with multiple technologies,
and a very relevant setting.
