- 1. Sizing and OrderingInformation Sizing In all instances, garment sizing information is located adjacent to the picture of the garment. Please note that some garments are not available in every size option and that size conversions can differ from garment to garment. Please read details directly from the table situated next to the garments you require. The following instructions provide advice on how to take accurate measurements for each part of the body. Male Female Special Measures Chest Bust Waist Waist Hips Ordering Information Inside Leg Please complete the Network Rail Maintenance PPE order form and ensure that it has been approved by your line manager/budget holder. There are two easy ways to obtain your correct measurements: 01 If you already have HIgh Visibility Workwear, that is comfortable after it has been washed, look in the label, and the size and fit should be visible. 02 Simply follow the instructions opposite and ask a friend to measure the key dimensions as illustrated. It is important to note that you should always measure around the fullest part whilst wearing the undergarments that you would normally wear for work. 19 Should standard clothing or footwear not fit you, you may require a special measure in which case please contact your local buyer who will contact the relevant supplier to arrange an appointment with their measuring coordinator. Chest: Measure around the fullest part and around the shoulder blade. Bust: Measure bust around the fullest part. Waist: Remove belt and measure around the waistline. Waist: Measure around the natural waistline. Inside Leg: Measure inside seam from crotch to hem. Hips: Measure around the fullest part. Please send to your local procurement team to approve who will ensure the correct account number and Purchase Order number have been included.

The vast majority of high visibility garments are worn by employees who work outdoors and therefore spend much of their time in the public eye. Therefore, in order to correctly portray our Corporate Image, all Network Rail clothing is permanently branded. The improvements are the result of listening to what people working on the track have told us they need. And that is a wide range of consistently comfortable, right-sized PPE. We expect our workforce to behave in a professional manner at work, and we must treat them in the same way. This starts before the working day begins by making sure that all workers have the tools and equipment they need to do their job. With regard to PPE, this means that they should be asked to wear high-quality clothing that makes them feel they are dressed to do a professional and proper day's work. It's as simple as that. The catalogue offers a broad range, and our highest standard yet, of breathable and visible PPE, and goes to the very heart of our everyday working lives. I strongly believe that by focusing on the basic needs, we can positively influence the wider issues of safety and performance on the railway. Iain Coucher 01 Railway Group Standards For your own safety you are required to wear High Visibility clothing to EN471, when on or about the line. Each garment exceeds the requirements of British and European standards for its intended application and carries the relevant CE mark. In conjunction with these European legislative requirements, the products also, where applicable, conform to the Railway Group Standard GO/RT 3279 for high visibility warning clothing. Easy... The first picture is of a new garment. Obviously it would be nice if it stayed this way, realistically though it is more likely to look like the second picture once it has been worn. The third picture shows a garment that quite clearly requires cleaning and this should not continue to be worn. The final picture illustrates a garment that is heavily soiled to such a degree that it may well impair the cleaning process. …with the Network Rail special laundry service for high visibility clothing. No bleaching: The laundry clean garments with naturally organic materials (no bleaches involved) and dry them at low temperatures. No fading: The cleaning process does not bleach colour, again because no bleaches are used. Re-waterproofing: The laundry re-proof garments each time they are laundered. Potential Danger Non tainting: The cleaning process removes all odours. The result of your workwear being unclean is unsafe, uneconomical and most certainly unlawful. Cleaning and re-processing is an effective way to stay safe, clean and legal. Network Rail garments are barcoded before being sent to the laundry and each wearer has a unique identity that allows us to monitor how many times they have sent their garments in for cleaning or repair. If you move location or the barcode becomes detached from your garment, fill in a tag provided by your supervisor and attach to garment BEFORE it goes into the laundry. Every time your garments are received at our laundry we manually inspect every item. Should any garment require replacing or repairing this will also be done at our laundry. Non irritating: The laundry rinse all garments thoroughly leaving no residual solution to cause irritation to the skin. A totally unique service: The laundry repair garments as and when necessary. - 7. Foul Weather Wearprotecting you from the elements When it’s GORE-TEX® fabric, waterproof means waterproof The bicomponent GORE-TEX membrane is made from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). Although the membrane is micro-porous, a single droplet of water is 20,000 times larger than each pore in the membrane. This is why GORE-TEX fabric is so waterproof that it will not let water through up to pressures of 45psi. When it’s GORE-TEX® fabric, breathable means breathable Evaporation of sweat is an essential part of the process of temperature regulation by the body. Even though the GORE-TEX membrane is totally impermeable to liquid water, the pores in the membrane are 700 times larger than water vapour molecule. Water vapour in the form of perspiration can easily pass out of the GORE-TEX garments and the wearer will stay cool. Breathable GORE-TEX fabric makes it easier for you to get on with your work for longer.
