Belgian Blue Cattle Manipulation
The effects of selective breeding and genetic manipulation can be seen in many ways as cruel
treatment in the cattle industry, especially when talking about dairy cattle and beef cattle. As stated by
United Kingdom levy board for milk production, the European Milk Development Council, The
average dairy cow now produces more than 6695 L of milk per year, approximately 20% more than
her counterpart from just 10 years ago. This is twenty times more than the average calf needs,
meaning dairy cattle are exploited for their milk to satisfy the demand in the growing industry. Like
humans, cows only produce milk when they are pregnant, meaning dairy cattle are pregnant most of
their life. If not for the abuses of milk production within dairy cattle, ... Show more content on

The Belgian Blue is highly sought over as it has the a naturally occurring gene that breeders have
taken advantage of to create more meat on the animal, in this case the Belgian Blue is double muscled.
This unfortunately has been capitalized negatively to the point where females of the Belgian Blue
cattle cannot give natural childbirth and must have cesareans (European Commission Scientific
Committee). The treatment of these animals due to only being able to give birth through cesarean is
greatly diminished because because the number of caesareans that can be performed is physiologically
limited. It is commonly accepted that five caesareans is a maximum that a cow can physically sustain
(Kolkman et al). So, not only is the cow going to be born just be slaughtered, but they also have to
endure a relatively invasive surgery to bring their young into a world in which their fate is identical.
The Belgian Blue is only one example of the exploitation of many different cattle species that share
this naturally occurring double muscled gene. The use of genetic manipulation within the industry of
animal agriculture plays a substantial negative role in the lives of cattle and their treatment and should
not be a frequently

Mutual Aid Agreements Are Essential For Allocating Resources
Mutual Aid Agreements Brian H. Doyle Saint Leo University Abstract Mutual aid agreements are
essential for allocating resources, equipment, and personnel between jurisdictions through intrastate,
interstate, private organizations, and nongovernmental organizations agencies in the event of an
emergency situation that exceeds the capabilities of the local agencies. Intrastate agencies mobilized
by a mutual aid agreement consist of resources within the state that can provide support to the
requesting department. During catastrophic events, interstate sources activated through a mutual aid
agreement are comprised of resources from other states that are able to support the operations required
when state resources are incapable of providing adequate aid. Private sector organizations, nonprofit
organizations, and nongovernmental organizations provide additional support in times of crisis when
the organization has necessary resources to sustain operations. Emergency situations that may arise
and benefit from the resources established in an existing mutual aid agreement include mass casualty
incidents, fire and law enforcement situations, natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes, and
terrorist attacks. Mutual Aid Agreements provide for increased capabilities during natural disasters,
terrorist events, and other emergency situations by enabling organizations at all levels to leverage
resources in their favor when the situation exceeds the capabilities of the local

The Afterlife In The Egyptian Book Of The Dead
The Egyptian Book of the Dead refers to a collection of ancient papyri and scrolls used for funerary,
ritual purposes in the ancient Egyptian world. Its purpose and accessibility has evolved across the
centuries, from its first known use in the Old Kingdom c.1240 BCE until the final days of its
production in the second century CE. The Book of the Dead is not actually a completed book , but
rather it is a collation of the various instructions gathered from the tombs of Pharaohs, priests, high
ranking officials and the social elite. Although the most important spells were originally reserved for
the upper class, eventually The Book of the Dead became popularised among society and by the New
Kingdom was generally common among funerary ceremonies. There are around 192 magic spells
contained in the Book, many containing subsections and all of them varying in length and detail. Each
spell pertains to a specific step in the passage through the Duat (the Underworld) into the afterlife. The
Book of the Dead tells us much about the importance of death and the afterlife in Egyptian ... Show

This is because the texts were originally only created for a specific individual, such as a Pharaoh, and
this therefore led to many variations between the spells. It is only in the 26th dynasty, known as the
Saite period, where a process of standardisation began to take place, and there is a certain organisation
of the Book of the Dead into chapters. Generally, the Book is divided into four sections: Chapters 1 16
explain the descent into the underworld; chapters 17 63 detail the origin of the gods and the
reanimation of the mummified body; chapters 64 129 describe the deceased s journey across the sky
with the morning sun as a blessed dead , and the judgment of Osiris; and chapters 130 189 describe
the ascension into the afterlife to live among the

Examples Of Duality In Palazzo Chiercati
Duality in Palazzo Chiercati Palladio explores duality in Palazzo Chiericati through typology,
structure, and proportion. Palazzo Chiericati s site has a lot to do with the design of the building. The
site of the Palazzo Chiercati is in central Vicenza, Italy. The building was erected on a very shallow
site and has a long frontage lining an open public space. Beyond the canal there was more rural
landscape compared to Vicenza s streets. Palladio did not let the opportunity of designing the building
regarding this unique site. To emphasize the difference in landscape or built environment, Palladio
makes use of a synthesis between two stark typologies. Palazzo Chiercati is the combination of both
the palazzo and the villa. The building rather than trying to create an ideal version of either typology
focuses more on making combination of these two typologies meaningful and understandable. Rather
than try to fit a multitude of components from each typology into the Palazzo, Palladio focuses on key
distinguishing parts of the typologies. For the palazzo aspect of the building, he makes sure to include
a courtyard. While the courtyard is narrow and not surrounded by the building on all four sides, the
opposite of the paradigm for palazzos, Palazzo Farnese, the courtyard distinguishes itself by being the
closest aspect of the building to the urban environment surrounding it. To emulate the typology of
villa, Palladio makes use of the loggia and portico. Because the building was one of Palladio s most
compressed , Palladio was not able to make a full and extruding portico like many villas feature. There
is still that hint of a portico, but the extrusion from the colonnade of the loggias is very miniscule.
However, while the portico may be short and compressed, it is still a feature of the façade meaning
Palladio wanted it to be understood as a portico from a villa. This building s construction began after
Palladio s infamous Villa Rotunda. While Villa Rotunda had porticos on all four sides, Palladio
reduces the number to one in Palazzo Chiercati to draw attention to short procession needed to travel
from the portico to the main space. This unusual adjacency of the portico and the central space with no

Retirement Plan Proposal And Communication Plan
Retirement Plan Proposal and Communication Plan
As being part of the HR benefit specialist team, our management team has given our department a task
on coming up and creating a proposal that will include useful information based on an important topic
which revolves around retirement plans that will be offered to the 150 employees that are employed
with this company. As we all can be aware, when dealing with retirement benefits there are many
sources where employees themselves can receive information on this particular matter which some
include Disability Insurance, Social Security Old Age, IRAs/Roth IRAs, Employer sponsor
contribution plans just to name a few. From these mentioned resources we will be discussing and
focusing on three important retirement plans that most employees tend to rely on when working with
an employer. Other areas that will also be discussed will be pension plans as well as contribution
plans, profit sharing and last but not least 401K.
To get more into detail when dealing with traditional pensions and their plans those are normally
calculated to come up with payments that are given to the employee once coming to a retirement. The
401K is a payout that is based on both the employer and the employee s contributions as well as the
number of interested that has been earned over the period of time. Profit=sharing revolves around the
gross sales or even money that has been put out for distribution from the employer to the employees.
Now, when dealing with

Why New Zealand Is Not A Classless Society Essay
Social class, is a highly controversial topic and is one of the most debated topics amongst sociologists,
with many different theorists claiming it entails different things. There has been much debate between
sociologists whether or not New Zealand is a classless society, and I am here today to argue against
this view, stating my reasons as to why New Zealand is not a classless society and in fact never has
been. I will argue this by looking at the social stratification of New Zealand throughout time, dating
back to Traditional Maori in the early nineteenth century, through to the contemporary society we see
today. In order to argue this point, it is first necessary to define what class is. Class refers to a form of
stratification: the process by which human society rank and evaluate themselves into a hierarchical
order (Spoonley et al. 1990) and according to Marxist theory, exists in two distinctive categories: the
bourgeoisie: those who own and control production and the proletariat: the working class that provides
the labour for production (McLennan, Ryan and Spoonley, 2004). Weber s analysis of class is similar
to Marx s, but in contrast he discusses class in the context of social stratification more generally.
Weber s sociological perspective puts emphasis on status and power rather than materialism, arguing
class arose through competition for economic resources, social prestige and political influence
(Richard Bedggood, 1980) At a more basic level when sociologists

Ethics And Professional Codes Of Conduct
Ethics and Professional Codes of Conduct (Unit 10),
Trump won the president in this month. After two months, Donald Trump will be the official
president. However, the concerns about his ethics is upcoming to everyone s mind.
As we known, The Trump Organization runs a lot of business all around the US. When Donald Trump
moves into the White House, he ll be the most controversial president in America history. After Trump
is the president, his business interest is related to the politic. But there is no law and rules that asks a
president to split his financial interests before he takes the president position. In past few period,
presidents got away from the business to avoid the conflicts. Trump has no way to put his real estate
empire aside. Obvious, he would involve his business into the future politic policy.
Democrats aware this conflicts of the interest. But they can t call official hearings. But they will keep
the eyes on him. Also, if necessary, they can do investigations to avoid the conflicts of the interest.
In addition, Trump is expressing an interest in a major infrastructure plan, equal pay for women, and
closing the interest tax rate. These acts could give him a benefits, but they are good for the country.
The infrastructure plan, such as highway, could improve the people life. Tax plan keeps the money in
our own pocket.

Introduction
Prostate cancer (PCa), the development of cancer in the prostate, is one of the most mortal diseases
that threaten men s lives in current world. It is the most commonly diagnosed non skin cancer in the
United States, and it is second leading cause of cancer deaths in American men. Autopsy series have
revealed that small prostatic carcinomas are present in up to 64 percent of men from 60 to 70 years of
age. [1] Most prostate cancers are slow growing, and it causes no symptoms in early stages. Thus,
most patients are found in advanced stage. Older age, race and family background of the disease are
three main factors to increase the risk of the disease. A few other factors are linked to increase the
disease including dietary, medication exposure, viral and sexual factors.
Nanotechnology is a novel technology what generally deals with structures and systems with a size
less than 100nm. [1] Due to its unique tiny size, the properties are quite different from bulk properties
include physical properties, chemistry properties, biological properties. For example, gold in bulk
form is inert, but in nano scale, it tends to be very active. Moreover, different sizes, structures, and
surface areas of gold nanoparticles make it exhibit different colors.

A Rose For Emily By William Faulkner
In A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner, Faulkner conveys the issue of involving trying to maintain
traditional values and control in a society that is facing a change that is radical and widespread. In this
story, Emily is seen as timeless figure that contradicts a society that is trying to build up a more
efficient, modern lifestyle.
Miss Emily is portrayed as a women who resents change and responds uncomfortably to any force that
tries to change her inhibitions. Her house is a portrait of her mindset with the leather covered furniture
being described as cracked , and the pillow on which the townspeople found her dead body was
yellow and moldy with age and lack of sunlight (par.55). Instead of replacing the furniture with newer
polished one, she chooses to use her dark and dusty home as shield from the modern transformation of
the town.
Miss Emily s refusal to change causes her several disagreements with the local government and law
enforcement. Her rejection to the multiple tax notices causes a burden with the newer generation as
they are unfamiliar with Miss Emily s way of law and conduct. This is privy to Miss Emily s position
as well, as she is unfamiliar with the current change in the local power as she is steadfast in her
reprisal of Colonel Sartoris s conduct, unknowledgable (or unwilling to accept) his death ten years
before. Some characters are sympathetic, and still respectful to her position in the town as show with
Judge Stevens. He concedes to the

Lab Report Lava Flow
Title: How Lava Flows
Background: Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. For example water would have a low viscosity
while syrup has high. The higher temperature the lower viscosity and the lower temperature the higher
viscosity. Cold syrup will move slower than hot syrup because the molecules are more tightly packed
together while hots are very loose and free. Silica will cause the syrups viscosity to increases, so the
more silica it has the more the viscosity will increase. If water is added to syrup the viscosity will
decrease because water has a lower viscosity. Gas can easily escape lava that has a low viscosity while
lava with higher viscosities, gas pressure will build up and might lead to big eruptions.

The lava flow was fast. An error was that the syrup was poured too fast and to much of it came out, so
it may have messed up the time. Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. Velocity is the speed of
something in a given direction. The velocity for team cold was 2 cm/s. In the cold syrup the molecules
are tightly packed together. The viscosity of the is very high since it does not flow very fast. Therefore
it flowed the slowest. The velocity of the team rooms data was 3.7 cm/s. In the room temperature
syrup, the molecules are more loosely bonded. The viscosity of room temperature is less than the
colds. So it flowed a bit more faster then the colds. It flowed faster but not as fast as the hots. The
velocity for team hots data was 6.8 cm/s. In the hots syrup the molecules moved the most freely and
loose. This means since it was the hottest, it has the lowest viscosity so it was able to flow the fastest
out of all of the syrups.Silica affects viscosity because viscosity increases with more silica content,
more silica, more viscosity. Water can change the viscosity of lava. If water is added the viscosity will
decrease. Lava with low viscosity allows gas to escape easily while lava with a higher viscosity gas
pressure builds up and can lead to a huge

Public Administration And The Public Sector
Old Public Administration was created to answer the questions to many unanswered problems.
President Woodrow Wilson said it was harder to run a constitution than to frame it because of the
difficult administrative tasks had to deal with. Sure enough, he was not the only person who felt that
way. President Wilson believed that in order to run an effective government, ideas from the private
sector should be incorporated into the public sector. He even went as far as to give input on how the
government would be able to implement ideas from the private sector to the public sector. And that is
to limit what hierarchical organization can do. Wilson believed that those in power would not have
control of creating the policy, but they will have a handle on how the policy is implemented. Two
themes stood out around the topic of Public Administration the distinction between policy and
administration, and the accountability of elected individuals who are a part of an organization. The
second theme was around the use of structures and strategies to ensure that management work
efficiency.
Many had much to say when it came Wilson s statement that Policy and Administration should be
separate entities. A few people argued that policy and administration could not be separated because
policy and administration depend on one another to work effectively. Frederick Taylor, a theorist
believed that in order to enforce efficiency within an organization, a scientific management

Bigelow s Use Of Mise-En-Scene In The Hurt Locker
In Kathryn Bigelow s film, The Hurt Locker, the director utilizes Mise En Scene to create a constant
presence of danger and unease throughout the film. With the goal to show the horrific reality of war,
Bigelow used specific elements such as characters outfits, lighting, types of camera techniques, setting
and overall pacing are the directors strongest weapons in creating the pressing tension felt in her film.
James, the films main character is the lens which Bigelow uses to show the audience the pain that war

James is thrown in between the warzone and a presumably American supermarket, where shock and
sterility is felt, contrasting the two worlds that James is a part of. James is surrounded by poverty and
suffering while in Iraq, a result of the war that he is fighting in. When it cuts to the supermarket,
James is clean in civilian clothing and surrounding by a cornucopia of food. The lighting is also used
to show the difference between the two places. Iraq is a place covered in a layer of dirt and sand while
the supermarket is a stark bright white, showing off the cleanliness of the land. Right before it cuts to
the supermarket scene James is riding in the car in the dark, making the viewer focus on what is
shown and making it feel controlled. Then when it shifts to the supermarket, we are greeted with a
sense of lost when presented with the seemingly endless rows of food. The elements of brightness,
color, dress and pace create conflict with each other. The audience can tell that while Iraq is a chaotic
mess, James is happy in it because it is his identity. Back in America he has no purpose, no drive. Like
many veterans, the surrealistic nature that is felt upon leaving war is impressed onto the audience and
we to begin to understand the feeling of alienation in one s own home. We are given a glimpse into

Capitalism During The Great Depression
For example, when a good is scarce, the prices goes up, so consumers try to avoid buying and
therefore conserving the resource. Then, the suppliers want to find more of the source as to get a better
profit. The reasons behind their actions are selfish, yet they benefit all of society. Smith identified that
the pursuit of profit and the power of self interest would increase motivation and result in more
advances in technology. His model of capitalism was on the basis of freedom and selfishness as a
motivator for society. It was also on the basis that the economy would go through recessions and
expansions but fix itself. Recessions are periods in the economy in which unemployment goes up,
while profits and spending goes down; a slowdown of the economy. An expansion is essentially the
exact opposite. The classical model of economics states that the economy will continue to go through
these fluctuations over time and will fix itself with no help, thus not needing a government to give
influence. Eventually, however, The Great Depression happened, and there was no end in sight of the
dramatic recession. The Great Depression was a widespread crash of the market that happened in 1929
and lasted well into the 1930 s. For a long time, no one knew why it had happened or when it would
be over. Often considered capitalism s savior, John Maynard Keynes noticed the lengthy depression
and realized that something was causing it to be stuck. He thought that the economy was not going to

happening? Aksel replied with Just come and you will find out what is happening you need to be here.
Later that day, it was 3:00, Frosty was pacing around his room wondering what this was all about.
Twenty minutes passed and he was only five minutes till he arrived at his destination. It was a time, a
group of people approached Frosty. Frosty saw a group of people with uniforms unsure of what kind
or where they had come from, but then Frosty saw a familiar face, it was Frosty s father Anders!
Frosty was then questioned on what he wanted to do in the Canadian military, he answered I would
like to follow in my father s footsteps he shouted echoing through the rink. Frosty s father was
astonished with what Frosty had uttered I will do whatever it takes to join and I will not give up.
Frosty had been waiting for this moment to be asked to join, Frosty excitedly replied with a strong

The impact of technology on employee relations can be negative at times.
An example is Santander Bank, who announced to close down 139 branches in the next 6 months,
replacing the face to face services, with online banking access and telephone banking. This decision
not only affected customers, but employees as well, as this will result in over 1000 employees losing
their jobs.
Also the implementation of new technological system can create conflicts and demonization among
employees, if it is not managed properly and if full support and training is not offered, in order to
accommodate the change taking place.
1.2Types of employment status
When it comes to employment status, it is very important to determine the type of employment, in
order to identify the employee rights and employer responsibilities, as these vary. The employment
contract is it an agreement between employee and employer, that outlines the responsibilities, rights,
duties and working conditions.
There are three main employment status types:
1. Employee is any person that works under a contract of employment, whether it is in writing or not.
2. Workers even though from a legal point of view the term worker includes employees as well, it used
to refer to individuals who offer services or perform work under a contract for a reward (i.e money,

Dbq Essay On Imperialism
The standard way of thinking about the topic of imperialism is that the British seized other peoples
lands without considering how the people felt, but many other countries followed in the footsteps of
the British. Other countries saw that they had expanded and were gaining territory, and wanted to
expand also. There were many reasons as to why imperialism became popular, money, land,
education, resources, because of this many people were greatly affected by imperialism. Some of the
main people affected were the British, the Germans, and the people living in imperialized countries.
Of the people who were impacted by imperialism, the group that was influenced the most were the
British. The British played a huge role in imperialism. In Confessions of Faith, Cecil Rhodes, a British
imperialist in Africa, wrote about how the British had begun colonization. Per Rhodes the British were
the superior race and it was their duty to help other countries become evolved ... Show more content

Rhodes believes that for this to happen the British need the other countries land so that the British
empire could continue to grow. While Rhodes is probably wrong when he claimed that the British are
the superior race. On the other hand, i agree that the white man s burden was a big part of imperialism.
Rhodes is not the only one to bring up the white man s burden in his work, in An Anthology of West

Kardell Paper Company Ethics Case
Background
The Kardell paper mill was established at the turn of the century on the Cherokee River in
southeastern Ontario by the Kardell family. By 1985, the Kardell Paper Co. had outgrown its original
mill and had encompassed several facilities in different locations, generating total revenues of $1.7
billion per year. The original mill continued to function and was the firm s largest profit center. The
Kardell family no longer owned shares in the firm, which had become a publicly traded company
whose shares were widely held.

In raising his concerns in 1985, Jack pointed out that the Ministry of Environment, responding to the
serious nature of concerns raised by the sonox issue, was considering internal proposals from its staff
that additional research be done into the sources and implications of sonox. Given the early stage of
work in this area, Jack could offer no indication of when, if ever, the Ministry would enact new
regulations to do with sonox. He argued, however, that the ground rules might change, as they had
with previous compounds, and that Kardell should give some thought to the worst case scenario of
how the sonox issue could turn out down the road.
Kardell s CEO was sympathetic to the concerns raised by Jack, a valued employee of the company
who had proved himself in the past by identifying many cost efficiency measures. The CEO felt
obliged, however, to match Jack s concerns about sonox against the substantial cost of refitting the
plant. The CEO felt there simply was not enough data upon which to base such an important decision,
and he was wary of any external force that attempted to influence the company s affairs. The CEO told
Jack, We simply can t let these greens tell us how to run our business. While the CEO did not feel it
would be appropriate for Kardell to adopt the recommendations in Jack s report, the CEO did take the

Puritan Influence On American Culture
The human brain is a story book filled with experiences. Every experience is a new page, and all of
these pages combine to form our personal perspective on the world. In America, we all have an idea of
what is right and what is wrong based off of our own experiences. This causes us to have many biased
views that do not capture the full picture. The values of our immigrant ancestors define who we are
today.
When we are children, we read various stories, and also taught many values from our parent s own
personal views. At the beginning of new generations, this cycle of teaching values repeats itself. Many
of these values we are taught today trace back to the groups that build our country.
When the Puritans landed upon the shores of America, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The holiday of Christmas has always been a part of our Christian nation. The commercialization of the

Americans would be if only Christians celebrated Christmas, and Santa Claus was not a part of the

as our literature. All of the books that spur children s imagination about elves and the North Pole

The rest of the population is made up of a Coptic Christian faith following (6%) (Commisceo Global

Characteristics of Populations
1. a) In order to study populations, scientists need to be able to describe a population. What are
THREE different measurements that scientists use to describe populations?
Scientists use population size, population density, and population dispersion to describe populations.
b) Define the terms population size and population density. How do these two terms differ from one
another?
Population size refers to the estimated total number of individuals of a specific species in a given
habitat or area at a given time. Population density is the number of individuals of a specific ... Show

However, organisms do not use up all of the space accounted for when measuring population size and
crude density. Ecological density is only concerned with the space the organism uses. It is determined
by dividing population size by usable space. For example, for the ecological density of moose in
Algonquin Park, the entire area of Algonquin Park would not be considered, but only the area in which
the moose live would be used.
b) Why is this distinction (i.e., crude versus ecological density) necessary? Which of these two
measures of density is typically higher?
This distinction is necessary because the crude population density may be very misleading. A
population of individuals may be living much more clustered together than the crude density may
indicate, so the ecological density would give a more accurate depiction. However, if someone is
researching the population dymanics given boundaries of a specified habitat or area, then the crude
density would represent the total density of that population in that given space. Of the two, ecological
density is typically higher because the useful space is usually less than the total space.

the performances featured GoldFord. They blended classical music and modern styles into terrific
songs of pop and soul. They sang a lot using their voices, it was a good performance. GoldFord also
used guitars and drums in the songs. One of the songs was about the style that people have, and that
nobody has a style like that are the same. There was also a rock band named Wavves. Their songs

Concepts Of Love In George s Babbitt
These concepts of love can also be seen in other works of the time. In Babbitt, George has a few
affairs with varying success throughout the novel. His first attempt at having an affair was with Ida, a
young manicurist. After a dinner of awkward conversation, she, rather mechanically, returned the
favor with a kiss. As described by Lewis, from the standpoint of Miss Ida Putiak, [Babbitt was] an old
bore who had to be endured as the penalty attached to eating a large dinner (242). Here one can begin
to see a clearer picture of love itself as a consumable commodity, pursued for the same reasons as
purchasing a new good the instant gratification that can easily be replicated over and over again with
new relationships and things. In these highly consumer driven cases, love and affection are
demonstrated through material possession, and then when selecting a partner, one must go for the
most luxurious option. Because of this, companionship can often be left for only those with the most
wealth and possession. Just as happiness and love were perceived to be commodities that could be
purchased in the 1920s, so was companionship of any nature. This follows the reason of the era
though. If one chose one s lover on the basis of luxury goods, then it is only logical that one would
also choose friends and spouses this way. In Babbitt, he often complained about his wife and her
simple mindedness. He hated it when she mended her stockings instead of replacing them, or when

Chain Of Fools Analysis
Chain of Fools was released in late 67 and was recorded in Atlantics New York Recording studio. It
was produced by Jerry Wexler, and engineered by Tom Dowd. Signature elements to the song include
Joe Souths signature guitar playing, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm section and Aretha Franklins powerful
vocal performance. Drums: My drum rerecord feature a mono overhead, a kick out, snare bottom, a
close room and a far room mic placed in the kitchen outside the studio to amplify the size of the space.
The song features a very dry drum sound, but features a spacious reverb layered on top. This is
possibly a plate or chamber reverb that was used on the other tracks in the song. Claps were also
added and hard panned to replicate that of the song. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the vocals, there was a lack of presence due to the use of less exciting preamps and vocal mic at
home, a much softer performance, and a lot of frequency content above 10 kHz (possibly due to the
Rode mic used, as well as the modern stock preamp on my home interface). So an eq was used to
match the vintage vocal sound on the recording. Whilst the song was released in both mono and
stereo, the stereo version features a use of LCR panning which includes bass keys panned to the left,
and drums and lead guitar panned to the right. Light saturation and distortion has been added to the
vocal parts to provide the dirt and thickness found on the song due to the hardware initially used.
Aretha was quoted by producer David Isaac as one who could work the mic, moving back and forth to
control dynamics organically. This was compensated with some compression on the rerecorded vocals.
The drums in the initial recording are punchy, tight and have a low end thump to the kick and the
snare. This was mostly due to the tuning of the drums, as well as the performance on the recording.
However for where I couldn t get the sound right, I used EQ to darken the snare, and added a mix bus
compressor with a hard knee to emphasise the punch of the

Promiscuity In 1001 Arabian Nights

It is best described by Connie Paige of The Boston Globe where in her article titled Homelessness hits
record high she says, The double whammy of the high cost of fuel and food can put families at risk for
homelessness that otherwise might not be . Those who live from paycheck to paycheck just didn t
have the extra money in their budget to accommodate a price increase on almost every daily staple
they have. Nan Roman of the National Alliance to End Homelessness said higher food and fuel prices
hitting families with no cushion . When these families can t afford the daily basics, they take from
another part of the budget. Those who had no cushion soon find themselves out of money for their
bills and many ultimately end up homeless.
Job loss is another large contributor to the increase in homelessness. I think that James Temple of SF

HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY II:
THE REFORMATION AND MODERN CHURCH
HIST 0562
INSTRUCTOR: REV. DR. RON KYDD 13th April 2015
Mail Box # 344
The Azusa Street Revival was a historical Pentecostal revival meeting that occurred in Los Angeles,
California and is the beginning of the Pentecostal movement. It was run by William J. Seymour, an
African American minister. It started with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and proceeded until about 1915.

America function at peek efficiency seems to be the goal of public management but there are obstacles

Globalization is a factor in the New Millennium that must be included in almost any discussion
concerning the future. At the click of a finger, a businessman doing financial transaction in New York
can transfer dollars to any country where he is doing business. That is because of globalization that
has allowed the cheaper and faster transfer of speculative portfolio investment. Since the late 1970s
and early 1980s, globalization has been pushed for by countries dominant in the world s major
economic and political circles. As some would claim, not to globalize is to be marginalized in the
world community.
Globalization, as commonly discussed, refers to the explosive growth in the past 20 to 25 years of
huge multinational corporations and vast pools of capital that have crossed national borders and
penetrated everywhere. It was born out of the technological revolution and the crisis of overproduction
that followed the last two decades. Technological revolution in electronics and information processing
brought the world a whole new range of electronic consumer products. It brought down the costs of
trade and communications, triggered an over accumulation of productive capital and resulted to
overproduction in the major capitalists

  • 2. Belgian Blue Cattle Manipulation The effects of selective breeding and genetic manipulation can be seen in many ways as cruel treatment in the cattle industry, especially when talking about dairy cattle and beef cattle. As stated by United Kingdom levy board for milk production, the European Milk Development Council, The average dairy cow now produces more than 6695 L of milk per year, approximately 20% more than her counterpart from just 10 years ago. This is twenty times more than the average calf needs, meaning dairy cattle are exploited for their milk to satisfy the demand in the growing industry. Like humans, cows only produce milk when they are pregnant, meaning dairy cattle are pregnant most of their life. If not for the abuses of milk production within dairy cattle, ... The Belgian Blue is highly sought over as it has the a naturally occurring gene that breeders have taken advantage of to create more meat on the animal, in this case the Belgian Blue is double muscled. This unfortunately has been capitalized negatively to the point where females of the Belgian Blue cattle cannot give natural childbirth and must have cesareans (European Commission Scientific Committee). The treatment of these animals due to only being able to give birth through cesarean is greatly diminished because because the number of caesareans that can be performed is physiologically limited. It is commonly accepted that five caesareans is a maximum that a cow can physically sustain (Kolkman et al). So, not only is the cow going to be born just be slaughtered, but they also have to endure a relatively invasive surgery to bring their young into a world in which their fate is identical. The Belgian Blue is only one example of the exploitation of many different cattle species that share this naturally occurring double muscled gene. The use of genetic manipulation within the industry of animal agriculture plays a substantial negative role in the lives of cattle and their treatment and should not be a frequently ... • 3. Mutual Aid Agreements Are Essential For Allocating Resources Mutual Aid Agreements Brian H. Doyle Saint Leo University Abstract Mutual aid agreements are essential for allocating resources, equipment, and personnel between jurisdictions through intrastate, interstate, private organizations, and nongovernmental organizations agencies in the event of an emergency situation that exceeds the capabilities of the local agencies. Intrastate agencies mobilized by a mutual aid agreement consist of resources within the state that can provide support to the requesting department. During catastrophic events, interstate sources activated through a mutual aid agreement are comprised of resources from other states that are able to support the operations required when state resources are incapable of providing adequate aid. Private sector organizations, nonprofit organizations, and nongovernmental organizations provide additional support in times of crisis when the organization has necessary resources to sustain operations. Emergency situations that may arise and benefit from the resources established in an existing mutual aid agreement include mass casualty incidents, fire and law enforcement situations, natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes, and terrorist attacks. Mutual Aid Agreements provide for increased capabilities during natural disasters, terrorist events, and other emergency situations by enabling organizations at all levels to leverage resources in their favor when the situation exceeds the capabilities of the local ... • 4. The Afterlife In The Egyptian Book Of The Dead The Egyptian Book of the Dead refers to a collection of ancient papyri and scrolls used for funerary, ritual purposes in the ancient Egyptian world. Its purpose and accessibility has evolved across the centuries, from its first known use in the Old Kingdom c.1240 BCE until the final days of its production in the second century CE. The Book of the Dead is not actually a completed book , but rather it is a collation of the various instructions gathered from the tombs of Pharaohs, priests, high ranking officials and the social elite. Although the most important spells were originally reserved for the upper class, eventually The Book of the Dead became popularised among society and by the New Kingdom was generally common among funerary ceremonies. There are around 192 magic spells contained in the Book, many containing subsections and all of them varying in length and detail. Each spell pertains to a specific step in the passage through the Duat (the Underworld) into the afterlife. • 5. Examples Of Duality In Palazzo Chiercati Duality in Palazzo Chiercati Palladio explores duality in Palazzo Chiericati through typology, structure, and proportion. Palazzo Chiericati s site has a lot to do with the design of the building. The site of the Palazzo Chiercati is in central Vicenza, Italy. The building was erected on a very shallow site and has a long frontage lining an open public space. Beyond the canal there was more rural landscape compared to Vicenza s streets. Palladio did not let the opportunity of designing the building regarding this unique site. To emphasize the difference in landscape or built environment, Palladio makes use of a synthesis between two stark typologies. Palazzo Chiercati is the combination of both the palazzo and the villa. The building rather than trying to create an ideal version of either typology focuses more on making combination of these two typologies meaningful and understandable. Rather than try to fit a multitude of components from each typology into the Palazzo, Palladio focuses on key distinguishing parts of the typologies. For the palazzo aspect of the building, he makes sure to include a courtyard. While the courtyard is narrow and not surrounded by the building on all four sides, the opposite of the paradigm for palazzos, Palazzo Farnese, the courtyard distinguishes itself by being the closest aspect of the building to the urban environment surrounding it. To emulate the typology of villa, Palladio makes use of the loggia and portico. Because the building was one of Palladio s most compressed , Palladio was not able to make a full and extruding portico like many villas feature. There is still that hint of a portico, but the extrusion from the colonnade of the loggias is very miniscule. However, while the portico may be short and compressed, it is still a feature of the façade meaning Palladio wanted it to be understood as a portico from a villa. This building s construction began after Palladio s infamous Villa Rotunda. While Villa Rotunda had porticos on all four sides, Palladio reduces the number to one in Palazzo Chiercati to draw attention to short procession needed to travel from the portico to the main space. This unusual adjacency of the portico and the central space with no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As we all can be aware, when dealing with retirement benefits there are many sources where employees themselves can receive information on this particular matter which some include Disability Insurance, Social Security Old Age, IRAs/Roth IRAs, Employer sponsor contribution plans just to name a few. From these mentioned resources we will be discussing and focusing on three important retirement plans that most employees tend to rely on when working with an employer. Other areas that will also be discussed will be pension plans as well as contribution plans, profit sharing and last but not least 401K. • 8. Why New Zealand Is Not A Classless Society Essay Social class, is a highly controversial topic and is one of the most debated topics amongst sociologists, with many different theorists claiming it entails different things. There has been much debate between sociologists whether or not New Zealand is a classless society, and I am here today to argue against this view, stating my reasons as to why New Zealand is not a classless society and in fact never has been. I will argue this by looking at the social stratification of New Zealand throughout time, dating back to Traditional Maori in the early nineteenth century, through to the contemporary society we see today. In order to argue this point, it is first necessary to define what class is. Class refers to a form of stratification: the process by which human society rank and evaluate themselves into a hierarchical order (Spoonley et al. 1990) and according to Marxist theory, exists in two distinctive categories: the bourgeoisie: those who own and control production and the proletariat: the working class that provides the labour for production (McLennan, Ryan and Spoonley, 2004). Weber s analysis of class is similar to Marx s, but in contrast he discusses class in the context of social stratification more generally. Weber s sociological perspective puts emphasis on status and power rather than materialism, arguing class arose through competition for economic resources, social prestige and political influence (Richard Bedggood, 1980) At a more basic level when sociologists ... It is the most commonly diagnosed non skin cancer in the United States, and it is second leading cause of cancer deaths in American men. Autopsy series have revealed that small prostatic carcinomas are present in up to 64 percent of men from 60 to 70 years of age. [1] Most prostate cancers are slow growing, and it causes no symptoms in early stages. Thus, most patients are found in advanced stage. Older age, race and family background of the disease are three main factors to increase the risk of the disease. A few other factors are linked to increase the disease including dietary, medication exposure, viral and sexual factors. Nanotechnology is a novel technology what generally deals with structures and systems with a size less than 100nm. [1] Due to its unique tiny size, the properties are quite different from bulk properties include physical properties, chemistry properties, biological properties. In this story, Emily is seen as timeless figure that contradicts a society that is trying to build up a more efficient, modern lifestyle. Miss Emily is portrayed as a women who resents change and responds uncomfortably to any force that tries to change her inhibitions. Her house is a portrait of her mindset with the leather covered furniture being described as cracked , and the pillow on which the townspeople found her dead body was yellow and moldy with age and lack of sunlight (par.55). Instead of replacing the furniture with newer polished one, she chooses to use her dark and dusty home as shield from the modern transformation of the town. Miss Emily s refusal to change causes her several disagreements with the local government and law enforcement. Her rejection to the multiple tax notices causes a burden with the newer generation as they are unfamiliar with Miss Emily s way of law and conduct. This is privy to Miss Emily s position as well, as she is unfamiliar with the current change in the local power as she is steadfast in her reprisal of Colonel Sartoris s conduct, unknowledgable (or unwilling to accept) his death ten years before. • 12. Lab Report Lava Flow Title: How Lava Flows Background: Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. For example water would have a low viscosity while syrup has high. The higher temperature the lower viscosity and the lower temperature the higher viscosity. Cold syrup will move slower than hot syrup because the molecules are more tightly packed together while hots are very loose and free. Silica will cause the syrups viscosity to increases, so the more silica it has the more the viscosity will increase. If water is added to syrup the viscosity will decrease because water has a lower viscosity. Gas can easily escape lava that has a low viscosity while lava with higher viscosities, gas pressure will build up and might lead to big eruptions. Pre Lab Questions: 30 ... Viscosity is a liquid s resistance to flow. Velocity is the speed of something in a given direction. The velocity for team cold was 2 cm/s. In the cold syrup the molecules are tightly packed together. The viscosity of the is very high since it does not flow very fast. Therefore it flowed the slowest. The velocity of the team rooms data was 3.7 cm/s. In the room temperature syrup, the molecules are more loosely bonded. The viscosity of room temperature is less than the colds. So it flowed a bit more faster then the colds. It flowed faster but not as fast as the hots. The velocity for team hots data was 6.8 cm/s. In the hots syrup the molecules moved the most freely and loose. This means since it was the hottest, it has the lowest viscosity so it was able to flow the fastest out of all of the syrups.Silica affects viscosity because viscosity increases with more silica content, more silica, more viscosity. Water can change the viscosity of lava. If water is added the viscosity will decrease. • 13. Public Administration And The Public Sector Old Public Administration was created to answer the questions to many unanswered problems. President Woodrow Wilson said it was harder to run a constitution than to frame it because of the difficult administrative tasks had to deal with. Sure enough, he was not the only person who felt that way. President Wilson believed that in order to run an effective government, ideas from the private sector should be incorporated into the public sector. He even went as far as to give input on how the government would be able to implement ideas from the private sector to the public sector. And that is to limit what hierarchical organization can do. Wilson believed that those in power would not have control of creating the policy, but they will have a handle on how the policy is implemented. Two themes stood out around the topic of Public Administration the distinction between policy and administration, and the accountability of elected individuals who are a part of an organization. The second theme was around the use of structures and strategies to ensure that management work efficiency. Many had much to say when it came Wilson s statement that Policy and Administration should be separate entities. A few people argued that policy and administration could not be separated because policy and administration depend on one another to work effectively. • 15. Capitalism During The Great Depression For example, when a good is scarce, the prices goes up, so consumers try to avoid buying and therefore conserving the resource. Then, the suppliers want to find more of the source as to get a better profit. The reasons behind their actions are selfish, yet they benefit all of society. Smith identified that the pursuit of profit and the power of self interest would increase motivation and result in more advances in technology. His model of capitalism was on the basis of freedom and selfishness as a motivator for society. It was also on the basis that the economy would go through recessions and expansions but fix itself. Recessions are periods in the economy in which unemployment goes up, while profits and spending goes down; a slowdown of the economy. An expansion is essentially the exact opposite. The classical model of economics states that the economy will continue to go through these fluctuations over time and will fix itself with no help, thus not needing a government to give influence. Eventually, however, The Great Depression happened, and there was no end in sight of the dramatic recession. The Great Depression was a widespread crash of the market that happened in 1929 and lasted well into the 1930 s. For a long time, no one knew why it had happened or when it would be over. Often considered capitalism s savior, John Maynard Keynes noticed the lengthy depression and realized that something was causing it to be stuck. He thought that the economy was not going to pick ... Given the early stage of work in this area, Jack could offer no indication of when, if ever, the Ministry would enact new regulations to do with sonox. He argued, however, that the ground rules might change, as they had with previous compounds, and that Kardell should give some thought to the worst case scenario of how the sonox issue could turn out down the road. Kardell s CEO was sympathetic to the concerns raised by Jack, a valued employee of the company who had proved himself in the past by identifying many cost efficiency measures. The CEO felt obliged, however, to match Jack s concerns about sonox against the substantial cost of refitting the plant. Every experience is a new page, and all of these pages combine to form our personal perspective on the world. In America, we all have an idea of what is right and what is wrong based off of our own experiences. This causes us to have many biased views that do not capture the full picture. The values of our immigrant ancestors define who we are today. When we are children, we read various stories, and also taught many values from our parent s own personal views. Characteristics of Populations 1. a) In order to study populations, scientists need to be able to describe a population. What are THREE different measurements that scientists use to describe populations? Scientists use population size, population density, and population dispersion to describe populations. b) Define the terms population size and population density. Population density is the number of individuals of a specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, organisms do not use up all of the space accounted for when measuring population size and crude density. Ecological density is only concerned with the space the organism uses. It is determined by dividing population size by usable space. For example, for the ecological density of moose in Algonquin Park, the entire area of Algonquin Park would not be considered, but only the area in which the moose live would be used. b) Why is this distinction (i.e., crude versus ecological density) necessary? Which of these two measures of density is typically higher? This distinction is necessary because the crude population density may be very misleading. A population of individuals may be living much more clustered together than the crude density may indicate, so the ecological density would give a more accurate depiction. However, if someone is researching the population dymanics given boundaries of a specified habitat or area, then the crude density would represent the total density of that population in that given space. Of the two, ecological density is typically higher because the useful space is usually less than the total space. 3. What is meant by the term population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Concepts Of Love In George s Babbitt These concepts of love can also be seen in other works of the time. In Babbitt, George has a few affairs with varying success throughout the novel. His first attempt at having an affair was with Ida, a young manicurist. After a dinner of awkward conversation, she, rather mechanically, returned the favor with a kiss. As described by Lewis, from the standpoint of Miss Ida Putiak, [Babbitt was] an old bore who had to be endured as the penalty attached to eating a large dinner (242). Here one can begin to see a clearer picture of love itself as a consumable commodity, pursued for the same reasons as purchasing a new good the instant gratification that can easily be replicated over and over again with new relationships and things. In these highly consumer driven cases, love and affection are demonstrated through material possession, and then when selecting a partner, one must go for the most luxurious option. Because of this, companionship can often be left for only those with the most wealth and possession. Just as happiness and love were perceived to be commodities that could be purchased in the 1920s, so was companionship of any nature. This follows the reason of the era though. If one chose one s lover on the basis of luxury goods, then it is only logical that one would also choose friends and spouses this way. In Babbitt, he often complained about his wife and her simple mindedness. He hated it when she mended her stockings instead of replacing them, or when she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the vocals, there was a lack of presence due to the use of less exciting preamps and vocal mic at home, a much softer performance, and a lot of frequency content above 10 kHz (possibly due to the Rode mic used, as well as the modern stock preamp on my home interface). So an eq was used to match the vintage vocal sound on the recording. Whilst the song was released in both mono and stereo, the stereo version features a use of LCR panning which includes bass keys panned to the left, and drums and lead guitar panned to the right. Light saturation and distortion has been added to the vocal parts to provide the dirt and thickness found on the song due to the hardware initially used. Aretha was quoted by producer David Isaac as one who could work the mic, moving back and forth to control dynamics organically. This was compensated with some compression on the rerecorded vocals. The drums in the initial recording are punchy, tight and have a low end thump to the kick and the snare. This was mostly due to the tuning of the drums, as well as the performance on the recording. At the click of a finger, a businessman doing financial transaction in New York can transfer dollars to any country where he is doing business. That is because of globalization that has allowed the cheaper and faster transfer of speculative portfolio investment.
