This study assessed the adequacy of micronutrient intake and associated risk factors among 208 pre-school children in Matisi Peri-urban location, Kenya. The results found high percentages of inadequate intake of iron, calcium, folate, vitamins C, A, B1, B2, and B3 among the children. More than half of the children had inadequate intake of multiple micronutrients. Micronutrient intake was associated with underweight and stunting. The study concluded that there is a problem of inadequate intake of nutrients that could lead to undernutrition among pre-schoolers in the location.
