This document provides a framework for analyzing characters in a film based on Joseph Campbell's monomyth theory of the hero's journey. It lists 7 common character archetypes found in the hero's journey - the hero, mentor, herald, threshold guardian, shapeshifter, shadow, and friend - and asks the reader to identify examples of these characters from a film and explain their opinions.
