Hera, the Queen of Heaven, is known for her extreme jealousy of Zeus's lovers and offspring. According to myths, her jealousy led her to torment these illicit children of Zeus and cause disasters like the creation of the Milky Way. She drove the mother of Dionysus, Semele, to her death and sent serpents after the infant Heracles. Hera opposed heroes like Aeneas and tried to prevent the fulfillment of prophecies through storms and other means. However, she occasionally aided allies like the Argonauts when it suited her interests.
