Henry Badenhorst worked as an aid and relief worker for HOPE worldwide in Somalia from February to August 2002. He was involved in projects at the Hargeisa Orphanage and Maternity Hospital in Hargeisa, Somalia, helping to build an educational playground and assist with polio immunization education. He also worked on smaller projects in Nairobi, Kenya and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with HOPE worldwide, providing HIV/AIDS education in Nairobi slums. After nearly 6 months working in Somalia, Henry returned to South Africa with a new dream to continue working for NGOs helping the poor.
