Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

2. Breast cancer is an alarming point for women, many of us accepting we worry more about
developing breast cancer than we do heart disease — the main enemy of women. However, similarly
as with heart disease, we can altogether decrease the danger of specific kinds of breast cancers on
the off chance that we just change to healthier habits.
Analysts see the proof when they think about breast cancer rates in developed countries — like the
United States — to rates in less-developed regions. Shockingly, women in developed countries have
five times the rate of postmenopausal breast cancers and double the rate of premenopausal breast
cancers as do women in less developed nations.
Basically, our unhealthy, unpleasant habits put us at more serious risk.
The great news is habits can change. While a few factors are beyond our ability to control, specialists
say these healthy ways of life habits are logically proven to bring down our breast cancer chance.
9 Healthy habits to start now to reduce your breast cancer risk later

3. 1.) MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT
Dr. Peddi Parvin (an assistant clinical professor of health sciences at the University of California, Los
Angeles) says - If you are overweight or obese, your risk is far higher than that of less fatty women.
That’s because fat cells discharge substances including estrogen, which is thought to raise the danger
of breast cancer.
One investigation found that a weight reduction of only 5 percent could reduce breast cancer chance by
somewhere in the range of 25 to 40 percent. An examination distributed this past August found that
women who were obese - those having a weight record of at least 35 - were about 60 percent more
likely to develop an intrusive breast cancer compared to women who were at a healthy weight.

4. 2.) GET REGULAR EXERCISE
Numerous studies have connected exercise to a decrease in risk. And, it’s measurable.
An ongoing meta-investigation found a 3 to 5 percent diminishment in chance per like clockwork of
direct to fiery exercise every week.
Dr. Susan Domchek, a professor of medicine and the director of the Basser Center for BRCA at the
Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania says - "If we could simply get everyone
moving and practicing we'd change a great deal of wellbeing results, including heart disease and
cancer reduction."

5. 3.) EAT FISH INSTEAD OF MEAT
Omega-3 unsaturated fats and other supplements from fish help lower to breast cancer risk.
Truth be told, studies show each aiding of oily fish has an effect.
5 www.oddwayinternational.com
6. 4.) EAT MORE SOY
An ongoing report found that women who expend direct measures of soy are at bringing down the risk
of developing breast cancer.
One meta-investigation found that eating soy-based nourishments brought down the risk by 11 percent.
the studies were done on just Asian women, so it was unclear how generalizable the discoveries are.
6 www.oddwayinternational.com
7. 5.) EAT MORE CURRY
Evidence shows that curcumin - one of curry's main ingredients — is harmful to cancer cells. What's
more, it's not simply curcumin, says Bharat Aggarwal, Ransom Horne, Jr., Professor of Cancer
Research and professor of cancer medicine (Biochemistry) and head of the Cytokine Research
Laboratory in the branch of exploratory therapeutics at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer
Center.
A large group of different flavors appear to have hostile to cancer potential, including ginger, cloves,
cinnamon, dark pepper and red pepper.

8. 6.) USE MORE OLIVE OIL
Sprinkle olive oil on your servings of mixed greens or sop it up with a bit of decent dried up Italian
bread.
A study published in September found that eating a Mediterranean diet decreased breast cancer risk by
41 percent, while eating a Mediterranean eating routine alongside liberal utilization of olive oil reduced
the risk by 68 percent.
8 www.oddwayinternational.com
9. 7.) GET ENOUGH FIBER
Whether it comes from natural fruits, veggies or whole grains, fiber is useful for breast health.
Studies have found as much as a 5 percent decrease in breast cancer risk per every 10 grams of
fiber added to a woman’s diet for every day.
9 www.oddwayinternational.com
10. 8.) GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Mean to rest between six and nine hours consistently. Studies show sleeping for under six hours
every night raises a women's risk by almost 50 percent. But, sleeping too much is no great either.
Women who rested at least nine hours or more were at a 60 percent higher risk than the individuals
who slept a healthy sum.
Other evening time habits assume a part, as well. A study published this past spring found that
women who worked nightshifts, especially who wound up with shorter rest hours, were at higher
risk of breast cancer. Truth be told, simply working a nightshift raised the women's risk by 34
percent.

11. 9.) DON’T SMOKE
Though studies have been mixed on the effect smoking has on breast cancer, it's best to play it
safe, says Dr. Anne McTiernan, an analyst at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and a
research professor at the University of Washington. "Smoking has been appeared in select
populaces to build the danger of breast cancer," McTiernan says. "Also, it's such an important risk
factor for cancer in general that it makes sense to quit.”
