Background Information It is important for all of us to learn to make healthy choices so that our bodies can stay in shape and so that we feel good every day! Making healthy choices-especially about what we eat can help us to live longer too! We have some tools that can help us to make good choices when it is time to eat during our day. First we have the food pyramid that explains to us the four food groups and why they are important to our body’s healthy function. Next, we chart our daily exercise habits. It is important to make time each day for some kind of physical exercise so that our body stays strong as we age. Finally, when we do have a meal, it is important to be aware of and monitor our portion sizes. When we take the time to think before we eat, we can make good, healthy choices and stay physically fit for years and years to come! Let’s take a look now and see what making choices is all about! Eating right, exercising daily, and being aware of the choices we make!
