2) Several large healthcare data breaches in 2018 exposed the data of over 2 million patients total. Ransomware attacks were a factor in some of these breaches.
3) Cybersecurity frameworks provide a common language and methodology for managing risks. Frameworks like HITRUST and NIST CSF are complementary and organizations can leverage elements of both. Proper implementation and board involvement are important.
The Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity: A secure-by-design approach
Cyberattacks, data breaches and overall business disruption, caused by unsecured IoT devices in the workplace and used by third parties, are increasing. This is because companies don’t know the depth and breadth of the risk exposures they face when leveraging IoT devices and other emerging technologies. The results of a poll by Deloitte and Dragos shed light on how ready organizations are for securing connected devices.
Finnish Personal Health Record (PHR) Platform
The document discusses plans to develop a Personal Health Record (PHR) platform in Finland. It will allow citizens to enter their own health data and access it with consent on apps. The national social services agency Kela is building the PHR data management platform. Third parties can develop apps that use the data.
