 To help better suit company needs of safety and
transportation.
 Regulating workloads in company trucks.

3. Opportunity
 The education provided with this proposal would help
teach store management proper weight requirements
for our hazardous material loads.
 With this education we will show a gradual decrease in
penalties DOT fines our company vehicles annually.

4. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
 Many of our drivers do not have CDL’s who drive our
company trucks.
 Did you know as our company increases we are
obtaining larger jobs by the day.
 These jobs sometimes require loads of paint and other
chemicals of 6000+ lbs.

5. Hazardous Materials
 Many of our drivers hauling these loads are also
hauling flammable liquids at the same amount of
weight
 These materials require special placards and Bill of
Ladings as described in the DOT materials handbook.

6. Solution
 Hire CDL drivers and provide CDL and hazardous
materials training for full time employees.
 Implement the low cost initiation of placards on all of
our vehicles that we lease for our stores.
 The average cost of placarding a vehicle is $95.80.
