Policy
• In an effort to boost tourism in the state, the Government of Haryana
has unveiled itsTourism Policy, which envisages promotion of tourism
as a major engine of economic growth and capitalize potential of
sustainable tourism.
• It aims at promoting sustainable tourism by encouraging a
constructive and mutually beneficial partnership between public and
private sector for economic development and employment
generation.
• The policy seeks the state government to increase the earnings from
tourism inflow at the rate of 10 per cent annually.
• The new tourism policy envisages promotion of tourism as a major
engine of economic growth and capitalize potential of sustainable
tourism for economic and employment generation.

 The objective of the new policy is to broaden and diversify the concept of tourism from
only Highway Tourism to Eco Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Pilgrim Tourism, Farm
Tourism, Golf Tourism, Medical Tourism and Heritage Tourism in order to meet new
market requirements.
 The state government will enhance the infrastructure particularly in the NCR region in
view of the forthcoming Common Wealth Games 2010, besides enhancing professional
excellence in training human resources and providing infrastructure for human resource
development.
 The new policy has proposed to set a Tourism Development Council under the
Chairmanship of Chief Minister to formulate strategy for the development of tourism, on
strengthening tourism related infrastructure in the state, and to attract domestic as well as
foreign investment.
 According to the new policy, the Tourism Department will identify suitable locations and
lands for facilitating tourism projects in the state.
 The Tourism Policy also proposes to develop Gurgaon as a convention and exhibition hub
with requisite world class infrastructure, recreation, information technology and support
facilities.
 The state government will confine its efforts to infrastructural development ensuring
uninterrupted electricity, water supply and provision of basic medical facilities.
 For this, it will provide fiscal incentives, assist in providing suitable sites and remove
bottlenecks, especially those connected with infrastructural development.
 The Tourism Policy also provides that the concessions available to the industry in the
industrially backward blocks will also be available to the hotels and tourism projects.

 Currently promotion is carrying out through 2 schemes:- domestics
promotion and publicity and foreign promotions and publicity.
 Haryana Tourism Corporation also promoting different types of tourism and
festival by help of there official tourism website.

Introductio n Haryana → Gurgaon, Faridabad, Karnal, Ambala, Panipat and Kurukshetra are some of the key districts of the state. → The state has three major seasons, viz., hot weather (April-June), rainy season (July- September) and cold weather (October-March). → Haryana is surrounded by Uttar Pradesh in the East, Punjab in the West, Himachal Pradesh in the North and Rajasthan in the South. Haryana Tourism Policy • In an effort to boost tourism in the state, the Government of Haryana has unveiled itsTourism Policy, which envisages promotion of tourism as a major engine of economic growth and capitalize potential of sustainable tourism. • It aims at promoting sustainable tourism by encouraging a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership between public and private sector for economic development and employment generation. • The policy seeks the state government to increase the earnings from tourism inflow at the rate of 10 per cent annually. • The new tourism policy envisages promotion of tourism as a major engine of economic growth and capitalize potential of sustainable tourism for economic and employment generation.
  • 5. Haryana Tourism Policy  The objective of the new policy is to broaden and diversify the concept of tourism from only Highway Tourism to Eco Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Pilgrim Tourism, Farm Tourism, Golf Tourism, Medical Tourism and Heritage Tourism in order to meet new market requirements.  The state government will enhance the infrastructure particularly in the NCR region in view of the forthcoming Common Wealth Games 2010, besides enhancing professional excellence in training human resources and providing infrastructure for human resource development.  The new policy has proposed to set a Tourism Development Council under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister to formulate strategy for the development of tourism, on strengthening tourism related infrastructure in the state, and to attract domestic as well as foreign investment.  According to the new policy, the Tourism Department will identify suitable locations and lands for facilitating tourism projects in the state.  The Tourism Policy also proposes to develop Gurgaon as a convention and exhibition hub with requisite world class infrastructure, recreation, information technology and support facilities.  The state government will confine its efforts to infrastructural development ensuring uninterrupted electricity, water supply and provision of basic medical facilities.  For this, it will provide fiscal incentives, assist in providing suitable sites and remove bottlenecks, especially those connected with infrastructural development.  The Tourism Policy also provides that the concessions available to the industry in the industrially backward blocks will also be available to the hotels and tourism projects.

Current Communication Strategies Haryana tourism is currently concentrating more on indirect medium like TV, newspaper, internet.  Currently promotion is carrying out through 2 schemes:- domestics promotion and publicity and foreign promotions and publicity.  Haryana Tourism Corporation also promoting different types of tourism and festival by help of there official tourism website.

  • 9. Mass media campaign: currently focusing more towards mass media campaigns to build the brand. TV campaign. Print campaigns. Advertising film for Haryana tourism. Internet promotion( YouTube, mobile WAP, etc.) Partnering with private Promotion of digital videos and DVD.
